There was an era when R&B wasn’t hot. … The whole hip-hop/R&B era just kinda threw me for a loop. Around early 2000 when every song kinda sounded like (one note repeated). Like for real, one note the whole song? That never made sense to me. ‘Cause like, if you’re gonna rap — rap. If you’re gonna sing — sing. Don’t try to do this combination hybrid of the two of them that sounds like (garbage). I didn’t dig it. I just never got into it

…Everybody was very much hip-hop/R&B. Everybody was very much Ciara- and Sean Garretted-out. No disrespect to Sean Garrett (writer of Ciara’s debut single “Goodies”), but I think he kind of fathered that era.

A premiere party for MTV’s Making the Band 4 (Season 3) went down last night in New York City. Let me start this off by saying that I apologize for predominately including photos of Boom Kat in the first part of the post. But her pictures were way past hilarious! Homegirl looked like she was too excited to be out of the house for a change. Jumping in folks’ pics, grabbing ‘em, standing up on couches and posing for pics, everything! If nobody enjoyed this little premiere party, I know for sure one person did. Laurie Ann momof*ckin Gibson. Lol! Oh, and I see Teyana Taylor done went and got a perm! But it’s gonna take more than that for homeboy to start looking like homegirl! I’m just saying. And where the hell was the rest of Danity Kane? Bow Wow & Danity Kane both premiered thier new videos for the recording of FNMTV yesterday. Bow Wow premiered his latest single, “Marco Polo” featuring Soulja Boy, which will be on his new upcoming album Pedigree. Danity Kane finally released another single, “Bad Girl” featuring Missy Elliott, and the premiered their video for thier single. DK’s album Welcome To The Dollhouse (Bad Boy/Atlantic) is now in stores! P!nk is someone we haven’t seen in awhile! She was there as a guest co-host commentator. P!nk also has a new album to be released sometime this year. She actually has a video that’ll be premiering on FNMTV next friday (August 1st) for her single “So What”.
