Rapper Da Brat (real name: Shawntae Harris) has been sentenenced to 3 years in prison on charges stemming from an incident in late 2007 in which the female rapper physically assaulted a waitress, who was coincidentally an off-duty Atlanta Falcons football cheerleader, with a bottle of rum at Studio 72, Jermaine Dupri’s nightclub in Atlanta. The waitress, Shayla Stevens, sustained a deep cut to the cheek and some swelling on the forehead, and has a permanent scar on her face as a result, officials said.

Harris pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in DeKalb County, and Superior Court Judge Gail Flake sentenced the rapper to 3 years behind bars, 7 years probation, and 200 hours of community service, in addition to completion of substance abuse treatment, mental evaluation and anger management classes.

When people go to jail for long periods of of time you always have to warn them and tell them to be safe for “obvious” reasons. But I don’t think Mr. Harris has that problem. I think the person we should give a heads up to is his cellmate! Watch your back, homie!

The paps caught a drunk, lost and confused Amy Winehouse outside of her England home last night. Apparently after her night on the town, homegirl had lost her keys and couldn’t get into her house. So a friend had to help her break into her own house by manually raising the garage. What would Amy do without those friends of hers…

Da Brat was arrested early Thursday after a dispute with a waitress at Studio 72, Jermaine Dupri’s clu. 33-year-old Shawntae Harris was charged with aggravated assault, said DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish. Club owners couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. But according to the police report this is how it all went down: The waitress accidentally bumped into Brat and the two proceeded to get into a little “verbal scuffle.” The waitress apparently didn’t want to hear Mr. Harris’ mouth so she walked away and baby gangster (Da Brat) took a bottle of rum, and hit the waitress in the face with it! Parish said the waitress, who sustained a deep laceration to the cheek and some swelling on the forehead, was driven to a hospital by a friend. I mean really, was it that serious??? Anyhow, Shawntae was released the next day after posting $50,000 bond. It’s unknown whether or not he’ll face any charges. I know the government is making a killing off of these celebs getting arrested left and right! If they keep this shit up, we’ll be out of debt in no time! Y’all know I’m bullshittin’ right? LOL!
