Diddy, 50 Cent & Common were visitors of TRL Studios yesterday. 50 Cent was promoting his new album and film, Before I Self Destruct; the album will be in stores December 16th. Common was also there on a promo tour for his upcoming album, Universal Mind Control, due in stores December 9th. Apparently the 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards were full of surprises: from T-Pain replacing Katt Williams as the host at the last minute, all the way down to T.I. and Ludacris sharing the same stage. If you haven’t heard yet, Katt Williams was nixed from his hosting duties, and T-Pain filled in for the comedian at the last minute. BET made up some bogus story talking about how Katt bet T-Pain he couldn’t beat him in a break dance battle, and how Katt’s hosting duties were up for grabs to whoever won. It later came to light that Williams had been arrested on the morning of the show. Sound familiar, anyone? *Cough* T.I. *cough* got arrested *cough* last year *cough* and he was *cough* supposed to perform. I’m just saying…

Common is back on the scene with, “Universal Mind Control,” a fresh new music video featuring Pharrell Williams! The 36-year-old rapper is due to release his new album, which holds the same title as the debut single, on November 11th 2008, so be on the lookout for it! Common is releasing a new album this year and the name of the album is to be called, Invincible Summer (G.O.O.D./Geffen), which is due sometime in July. The new track “Universal Mind Control” featuring and produced by Pharrell Williams. The beat is crazy! It feels like something you would expect from Kanye. It’s different for Common but I like it! The track sounds like it’s sampled from Afrika Bambaataa’s “Looking For The Perfect Beat”.
