Ted Williams and his “golden voice” may be in rehab…….but fortunately for him, that doesn’t mean he’s lost any of his many job offers!

The Cleveland Cavaliers have released a statement wishing Ted the best of luck….and that they will be waiting on him once he gets through this challenging time.

“The Cavaliers, Quicken Loans and our entire family of companies wish Ted Williams and his family the best as they continue their unique journey. We hope they have many great days ahead of them together, but understand they also have some very important issues they must address. When Ted is healthy and has successfully worked through the critical personal challenges he faces, and should he want, we will be there to discuss his work interests and help him create a path for future professional success,” Cavaliers’ spokesman Tad Carper stated.

No matter what the situation is, Reverend Jesse Jackson always feels the need to give his two cents on something. Well, this time around, the civil rights activist is after Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, and he ain’t playing no games! During an interview yesterday with Associated Press, Jackson accused Gilbert of speaking as if he was former Cavalier LeBron James‘ slave master in his open letter to Cavalier fans.

“He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. LeBron is not a child, nor is he bound to play on Gilbert’s plantation and be demeaned. He has been a model citizen and has inspired the children of Akron, Cleveland, the State of Ohio and the United States.”

We don’t have much too say on that… but Dan was kind of harsh in his letter (check it out HERE). A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!

Former Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James pissed a lot of people off when he announced his decision to play for the Miami Heat Thursday night (Jul 8). Fans in Cleveland burned his jersey to show their anger over his decision to move to South Beach, but Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert took another approach. In an open letter to Cavaliers fans posted on NBA.com, Gilbert talked about how disappointed he was in LeBron and assured fans that he hasn’t betrayed them and never will. He also said that he will “personally guarantee that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win an NBA championship before the self-titled former ‘KING’ wins one. You can take it to the bank.”

Ouch!

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier. This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his “decision” unlike anything ever “witnessed” in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us. The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you. There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you. You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal. You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

“I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE”

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our “motivation” to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels. Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there. Sorry, but that’s simply not how it works. This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown “chosen one” sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And “who” we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called “curse” on Cleveland, Ohio. The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland. Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day….

LeBron James restored order to the universe (and caused a little disorder at the same time) Thursday night (Jul 8) when he announced that he would be joining the Miami Heat in the upcoming NBA basketball season. After months and months of rumors and speculation, LeBron says that he feels really good about his new 5-year contract with the Heat. Last night, LeBron told ESPN:

“I slept on it, made my decision and feel really good about it. Taking my talents to South Beach and joining the Miami Heat gives me the best opportunity to win championships. I look forward to playing with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. We have a good team.”

LeBron and his new teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will attend a rally at Miami Heat stadium in the American Airlines Arena tonight (Fr. Jul 9) and will continue the party on South Beach.

James made his announcement last night at the Boys & Girls of America in Greenwich, CT and took pictures with rapper Kanye West after he spoke with the media.

Today marks the beginning of Lebron James’ ability to shop around with other NBA teams as a free agent… and let’s just say he’s not wasting ANY time.

This morning the Cleveland Cavaliers star was spotted meeting with New Jersey Nets owners Jay-Z and Mikhail Prokhorov, coach Avery Johnson, and General Manager Rod Thorn at the IMG offices in Cleveland.

We’re sure they have some tricks up their sleeves!

Brown’s dismissal comes at such a critical time for the Cavaliers because their superstar Lebron James will soon be a free agent with the option to shop around with other teams. So was this a strategical move? Apparently, but also a very risky one because if Lebron does decide to make the move and opt out of his contract, Cleveland will be left without their star player AND a coach. However according to Gilbert, a risk must be taken in order for the team to progress.

“The expectations of this organization are very high. Although change always carries an element of risk, there are times when that risk must be taken in an attempt to break through to new, higher levels of accomplishment. This is one of those times.”

As you guys may have seen earlier this week, we tried our best to give Cleveland Cavaliers frontman Lebron James a helping by attempting to put to rest the rumors surrounding his mother supposedly getting it in with his teammate Delonte West, but NBA Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy just opened a can of worms. In case you were wondering… no, Delonte West is NOT banging LeBron James‘ mom! At least that’s what LeBron’s lawyer says…

An attorney representing LeBron is refuting reports alleging that his teammate Delonte West was having a sexual affair with his mother Gloria. In an e-mail obtained by TMZ, Frederick Nance, LeBron’s lawyer, says that the story, which originated from sports blog terezowens.com, is “categorically false and per se defamatory.” He also said “No thinking person could possibly believe such rubbish.”

The report — which also spread as a viral email — was supposed to explain the Cleveland Cavaliers’ playoff loss to the Boston Celtics with this theory: LeBron finds out about Delonte and his mom before game 4 … Cavs go on to lose games 4, 5, and 6 (and possibly LeBron).

The guys at terezowens tell us, “We think it’s a little fishy that they waited almost 4 days to fire this off.”  They say they stand by their source, and they’re consulting with their lawyers.  The story is still up on their site … for now. We also spoke to Keith Estabrook — a spokesman for the James family — who told us, “I will not dignify this with a comment.”

Even though they waited a while to release a statement, we still don’t think this story holds any truth to it. To us it sounds like something someone made up as an excuse as to why the Cavs lost the play-offs. Nothing more… nothing less.

Rapper Jay-Z always feels the need to speak out on something…. whether it’s the death of auto tune or Lil Mama jumping on stage during his “Empire State of Mind” performance. Well this time it happens to be about Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star, Lebron James. The Roc Nation CEO expressed his views on the Cavaliers’ lost to the Celtics this week on the Stephen A. Smith’s Fox Sports Radio Show.

“The first thing I would say is, never really underestimate the heart of a champion … Like, Boston just won a championship two years ago, and it was a great story for everyone to dismiss them and just say, ‘This is going to be an easy series.’ I think LeBron and the Cavs — because they’re basketball players, they’re not into media sensation — they knew this was going to be a war and a tough series.

“I think Boston got healthy at the right time, and I think the fact that a lot of them were out a lot of the year, it kind of worked in their favor, because a lot of them are rested,” Jay continued. “They’re rested and they’re healthy at the right time, and this is a champion just two years ago. … So this is not like a 16 seed; this is a real team. And [Celtics point guard Rajon] Rondo is playing like [onetime Celtics star] Nate Archibald or somebody, man. Who is this guy?”

Jay-Z also spoke on his relationship with New York Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and his future involvement with the franchise.

“I sat down with him, and we had a fantastic conversation, and there were things that I really wanted to make clear: that I wanted to be an active owner and this is something I really care about. It’s not just a name cachet for me,” Jay said. “It’s just a thing that I love. I love sports. Everybody was happy about what I was saying, so it looks like I’ll be taking a more active role in what’s going on. … Should be fun.”

Now, we know that it is illegal to bribe players in college basketball, but obviously the NBA is a totally different ball game. According to Scores, New York’s premiere strip club, if NBA superstar Lebron James moves to the New York Knicks after this season ends, he will receive:

1. A free lifetime of lap dances
2. A “LeBron James Day” when all the strippers will wear his jersey
3. And free food for life at the strip club’s very own steakhouse

Well if Lebron makes that move to the Knicks, we know EXACTLY where he will be partying after every game!!

Joining in on the festivities of All Star Weekend 2010 in Dallas, rapper Jay-Z and his good friend NBA baller Lebron James (of the Cleveland Cavaliers) met with kids at the Dallas Boys & Girls Club Saturday afternoon (Feb 13) in Texas.

Cleveland Cavaliers baskeball star Shaquille O’Neal has admitted more than once he is interested in a career in the law force.  This may very well be the next step after his career in the NBA.  It is said that when he gets time off from his busy basketball career, the 7 ft. 1 in. center hangs out with the 5-0 as a reserve L.A. Port police officer, and in Miami he serves as a Beach reserve officer.

Shaq was also part of the Maricopa County Sherriff Posse in Arizona, until he was relieved of his duties after going after NBA player Kobe Bryant in a rap battle. But now, “Officer O’Neal” wants to be with the po-po in Cleveland.

Black Voices reports: “Shaq applied to become a special deputy with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff. If his application is approved, he would require 36 hours of police training and take an Ohio police exam. If he completes the training and passes the test, he will be deputized.

“But what does a special deputy do? Not much, but just enough. The title allows him to carry a firearm and make arrests, but he would not be a paid formal employee. That’s right, he’s being a cop for the fun of it!”

The star players of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lebron James and Shaquille O’Neal, were spotted by the paparazzi on Wednesday (Oct 28) as they left their hotel to go to the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Canada to play against the Toronto Raptors.

NBA legend Charles Barkley believes that is is disrespectful for Cleveland Cavaliers star Lebron James to discuss his free agency, which begins after the 2010 basketball season.

“If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up,” the Hall of Famer said on Patrick’s show. “I’m a big LeBron fan. He’s a stud. You gotta give him his props. I’m getting so annoyed he’s talking about what he’s going to do in two years. I think it’s disrespectful to the game. I think it’s disrespectful to the Cavaliers.”

Well, apparently, Lebron doesn’t think so and his this to say about Barkley:

“He’s stupid. That’s all I’ve got to say about that,” James said.

The Boston Celtics won at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the last game of the series (4-3) between both teams. The Celtics won by 5 (97-92). Paul Pierce totaled 41 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Kevin Garnett scored 13 points and 13 rebounds. Rajon Rondo scored 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. I must say I am disappointed about the Cavs loss. I really wanted to see LeBron progress within the playoffs. Garnett said at the end of Game 7:

“Today it was basically get the ball to Paul Pierce and get the hell out of the way,”

LeBron James scored and made history despite the loss. He scored 45 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Delonte West totaled 15 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.

The Celtics will play the Detroit Pistons in the next set of series.

The Cleveland Cavaliers lose again! The Boston Celtics are now in the lead after winning the tie-breaker last night (3-2). The Celtics won by 7 points (96-89). Kevin Garnett put up 26 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. LeBron James totaled 35 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. LeBron commented on the loss after the game:

“We know it’s a win-or-go-home situation. We’ve got to approach it that way,” LeBron said “We’re a very good team at home. But a LeBron James team is never desperate.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Boston Celtics in Game 4 last night. The series is now tied (2-2). The Cavs won by a good 11 points (88-77). The indeed had to win Game 4 in order to stand ground in this series. LeBron James, who had 21 points, 13 assists and 6 rebounds, said at the game’s end:

“We took care of home court and turned it into a three-game series,” James said.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 9 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Kevin Garnett finished the game with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics.

The Cleveland Cavaliers take the victory at home in last night’s game against the Boston Celtics. The Cavs won by 24 in Game 3 (108-84). LeBron James was determined to win for the home team last night. James had 21 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Delonte West was on point last night with 21 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. West said at the end of the game:

“We came out, jumped on them and didn’t give it back,” West said.

The Celtics are still leading this series (2-1) but a lot can change in the next game. Game 4 will be in Cleveland which will make it harder for the Celtics to maintain their lead.

Game 4 airs Monday (May 12) on TNT.

It’s kind of surprising LeBron James hasn’t been shutting it down but these games can go either way. Kevin Garnett was on his game tonight and did not let up. K.G. scored 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists. Paul Pierce was even shocked to see that King James wasn’t beating them! Here’s what Pierce had to say:

“I’m a little shocked that he’s 8-for-42, but this is what we work on. We work on trying to contain him,” said Pierce, “LeBron is what makes them go. And if we can somehow control him, we control their team. And with the help of the guys around me, we’ve been able to do that.”

Ray Allen scored 16 points and 3 assists. Paul Pierce scored a total of 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. I guess they are kind of succeeding in this theory cause it’s not looking to good for the Cavs. LeBron can even admit this himself. LeBron said after the game:

“Being down 0-2, that’s a tough hole to dig yourself out of. James said, “But if we want to win the series we’ve got to do it,”

LeBron had 21 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Zydrunas Ilgauskas put up 19 points and 5 rebounds.

Will the Cavs make a comeback in Game 3? I guess we’ll see…

I feel that the game was rigged because LeBron definitely didn’t get the foul calls he deserved during the 24.8 seconds in the final quarter. But all in all the Celtics still took the victory last night by only 5 points (76-72). Kevin Garrett scored 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Rajon Rondo totaled 15 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Paul Pierce had 4 points…4 rebounds, and 5 rebounds. K.G. had comments after this close game last night. He responded:

“This was two heavyweights, just body-punching,” Garnett said ”There was no finesse, no jabs, just an all-out, beat-down, defensive fight.”

LeBron James missed a lot of shots last game and didn’t average points you would expect LeBron to have. King James only totaled 12 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds. Zydrunas Ilgauskas pulled up 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Cavs last night. If James made more points they would’ve definitely won Game 1 last night. LeBron had something to say about the missed shot last night as well:

“I missed a lot of shots I know I can make,” James said, staring at the stat sheet. “I missed layups. Those layups I’ve made my whole life.”

This series has just begun and it’s not near over with. Game 2 airs Thursday (May 8) @ 7 on ESPN.

The Cleveland Cavaliers take the victory of the series against the Washington Wizards in the sixth game (4-2). LeBron James scoring his 3rd-career playoffs’ triple-double in game 6 with 27 points, 13 rebounds beating the Wizards’ by 17 (105-88). The Cavs has had a great season and now they’re advancing closer to the Finals. Cavaliers’ teammate Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. LeBron was happy to see his team coming closer to the Finals stated at the end of Game 6:

“Cleveland is advancing. We won the series 4-2. That speaks louder than me saying anything about the fans here, anything about DeShawn Stevenson ,” James said, referring back to when he called him “overrated”. “Cleveland is advancing. That’s all that matters.”

Wizards’ power forward Antawn Jamison scored 23 points and 15 rebounds. Antonio Daniels added 8 points, 5 assists, and 1 rebounds said after the loss in Game 6:

“Three times in a row. It’s tough,” Washington’s Antonio Daniels said. “But who knows what happens if we have a healthy team? A healthy Gilbert Arenas? If we had Darius Songalia for Game 6 — who knows what happens?”

The Cavaliers will play which ever team wins the series between the Boston Celtics Vs. Atlanta Hawks.

The Washington Wizards make a comeback Thursday night. Only behind by one victory, the Cleveland Cavaliers was defeated by the Wizards, bringing an end to their winning spree (2-1). The Cleveland Cavaliers lose brutally by a 36 point blowout (108-72). The Wizards was determined to win last night. They won…and they won hard! DeShawn Stevenson had 19 points. Caron Butler scored 17 points. Loyal fans of the Wizards’ backed up Stevenson’s comment by chanting that LeBron James was “overrated” over and over again. Although Stevenson had to swallow his comments before in the two previous games they were defeated in. LeBron had 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. I’m definitely looking for to Game 4.

Game 4 airs Sunday @ 1 on ABC.

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Washington Wizards by a 7-point win (93 – 86). LeBron had 32 points, Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 22 points and 11 rebounds, Delonte West made four free throws in the final 15.1 seconds to seal Cleveland’s win. Making two tough shot at the very stretch of the game. LeBron played his hardest to prove to Wizards’ shooting guard, DeShawn Stevenson, that he’s not what Stevenson called him [James], “Overrated”.
