Cee-Lo Green reunited with his group Goodie Mob Sunday night (May 20) as they paid tribute to The Beastie Boys and the late Adam “MCA” Yauch at the 2012 Billboard Awards in Las Vegas.

In addition to the tribute performance, the Atlanta Hip-Hop group also performed “Fight to Win,” their first new track together in several years.

The official full-length trailer for “Sparkle” — Whitney Houston‘s final film — was released by Sony Pictures this week.

The highly anticipated remake of the original movie of the same name (released in 1976) stars Houston as the mother of three girls (played by Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo) who form a singing group and struggle with the perils of fame.

Houston is prominent throughout the trailer, and at one point, the R&B icon belts out the classic gospel tune “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”

“Sparkle” — which also stars Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Cee-Lo Green — marks Whitney Houston’s first return to movies in 16 years, but it also sadly marks her final movie role as she passed away on February 11th 2012 in Beverly Hills, just three months after filming for the movie wrapped in Detroit.

“Whitney loved this movie very much. This was her idea,” one of the film’s producers Debra Martin Chase said. “The great thing for me as her friend and her producing partner is that this movie will be an essential part of her legacy. … It’s the best performance of her life; she knew it at the time. She looked beautiful on camera and she enjoyed every minute making the movie.”

She continued, “On the one hand, I’m so excited about the movie and we’re really happy with how it turned out. (But) just to have it said yet again that this is Whitney’s last performance, it’s hard. It’s hard.”

There were lots of celebrities sitting courtside Sunday night (Feb 26) watching the East and West go head to head during the 2012 NBA All-Star Game at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.

Some of the big names included Young Money rappers Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne (who was wearing a pair of million-dollar, diamond encrusted Beats by Dre. headphones), as well as R&B singers Chris Brown, Cee-Lo Green and Mary J. Madonna lit up the stage last night (Sun Feb 5) as she put on an impressive performance during the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show in an attempt to show the new generation who the real “Queen of Pop” is, just in case they had forgotten.

Her 12-minute-plus performance set featured renditions of her songs “Vogue,” “Music,” “Give Me All Your Luvin” and “Like a Prayer,” along with guest appearances from rappers Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., Hip-Pop group LMFAO and R&B singer Cee-Lo Green.

Madonna‘s big Super Bowl performance (featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.) is just days away, and the latest buzz surrounding the big show is that R&B singer Cee-Lo Green and Hip-Pop group LMFAO will be joining the ladies on stage.

MTV broke the news earlier this week while citing a report from TMZ.com regarding Madonna’s massive halftime stage set, which reportedly features a series of lights that spell out “Vogue” set into the floor, in reference to the hit single she is rumored to be performing.

In addition to Vogue, Madonna will also be performing “Music” (with LMFAO), her brand new single “Give Me All Your Luvin” (featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.), “Like a Prayer” (with Cee Lo Green), “Ray of Light” and “Holiday.”

Madonna’s 12-minute halftime show will go down this Sunday night (Feb 5) during halftime of Super Bowl XLVI.

The game — which will see the New England Patriots take on the New York Giants — will air live on NBC from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Obamas were joined by a host of celebs — including Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber, Cee-Lo Green, Conan O’Brien, Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice and The Band Perry — as they all got into the festive spirit Sunday (Dec 11) in Washington D.C. at the annual Christmas in Washington ceremony.

“This is the season to celebrate the story of how, more than two thousand years ago, a child was born to two faithful travelers who could find rest only in a stable, among cattle and sheep,” President Barack Obama, who was accompanied by First Lady Michelle and the First Daughters Sasha and Malia, said near the close of the concert, which was hosted by Conan O’Brien.

“He was no ordinary child,” Obama said. “He was the manifestation of God’s love. And every year we celebrate His birth because the story of Jesus Christ changed the world.”

Singers Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber, Cee-Lo Green, Conan O’Brien and Victoria Justice took turns singing classic holiday tunes like “This Christmas,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Let It Snow,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Away In a Manger,” “Silent Night” and several others during the concert, which is set to air on TV this Friday (Dec 16) on TNT.

After announcing that they would be taking an indefinite break to focus on their various, individual personal and professional career goals, The Black Eyed Peas played one last concert together as a group at The Sun Life Stadium in Miami Wednesday night (Nov 23) for the the final night of their tour.

“Black Eyed Peas is a family. We are friends, and we helped each other get here – and you guys are an extension of that friendship. We are here in this stadium today representing family and love, a day before Thanksgiving, and we thank you guys for the love,” BEP frontman Will.i.am shared with the sold-out crowd.

“We are not breaking up,” Taboo told Reuters on Monday, with Apl.de.ap adding, “We’re going to take a little vacation and focus on our personal things.”

The 2011 Soul Train Awards were held in Atlanta at the Fox Theater last Thursday night (Nov 17).

Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, this year’s Soul Train Awards saw appearances from a variety of celebrities, including R&B singer Keri Hilson, model Amber Rose, actor Lance Gross, NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Tamar Braxton, our blogger friend Necole Bitchie (who won the award for Best Soul Site — CONGRATS!!), and many more.

The show is said to differ from its rival shows (like ‘X Factor’ and ‘American Idol’ as the singers will solely be judged by their vocals whilst performing with their backs to the judges.

Famed music legend Lauryn Hill took to the jam-packed Coachella stage this past weekend (Fr. Apr 15), and performed a string of hits at the iconic music festival.

“F**k You” singer Cee-Lo Green also hit the stage at the 2011 Coachella Festival the same night, and performed some of his own songs, though he only had 20 minutes on the stage due to him arriving more than a half-hour past his scheduled time.

“Forget You” singer Cee-Lo Green is more than comfortable and happy with the way he looks. In fact, Cee-Lo says he’s never “going to be a small person” all on account of him being “big-boned.”

According to Bang Showbiz, the Gnarls Barkley front man admitted:

“I’m not out of shape, this is just the shape I’m in,” Green said, according to Bang Showbiz. “What you see, hear, and experience is a person who is completely confident in their own skin. I wanted to incorporate a discipline that I’d never tried before but not to lose weight. I’m not going to be a small person, I’m big-boned.”

We’ve never fully understood where that whole “I’m not fat, I’m big boned” thing came from. You. are. FAT! Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but there is no such thing as “big boned.” Everyone’s bones are the same :)

In what will be their first live TV performance, Drake and Rihanna are set to take the stage together at this year’s Grammy Awards! It’s unknown what the duo (who are both up for for four awards) will sing, but it is very likely that the two will perform their hit collabo “What’s My Name?”

Another new performer added to the already star-studded list yesterday was Cee-Lo Green, who will perform his hit “F**k You” alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and some of Jim Henson’s Muppets.

Previously announced performers for the biggest night in music include Eminem, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Usher, Jaden Smith, B.o.B, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae and more. The 2011 Grammys will broadcast live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 13th at 8pm EST.

It’s that time of the year again. The 2011 Grammy Awards will be here before you know it (in less than a month to be exact), and among the performers announced were Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Cee-Lo Green, who are ALL nominated for at least 1 Grammy Award each.

Eminem leads all nominees with 10 nominations, while Lady Gaga has 6 and Green and Perry each have 4. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon, according to the official Grammy Awards website.

Here’s Asher Roth‘s music video for his latest single “Be Myself” featuring the “freak in the closet” himself, Mr. Cee-Lo Green. This comes straight from Roth’s latest album Asleep In The Bread Aisle, in stores now. Roth gets a lot of comparisons to fellow MC Eminem, and when XXL asked what he thought of the newcomer, Em said:

“He’s doing his own thing. I can respect it too because at the end of the day, I think he’s dope.”

To an extent of it, a majority of it, the comparisons lie mainly because we’re both white MCs and we’re both talented, you know. Really, it’s just crazy that he even knows my name in the sense of being a 23-year-old kid on the come up, it’s great to have the pioneers before you really know who you are,” he continued. “It’s still early on in this project, there’s a lot to do, so, it’s awesome, man. That’s cool.”
