Country music sensation Carrie Underwood gave an incredible performance of her song “Blown Away” last night (Sun May 20) at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

“Blown Away” is the title track of Carrie’s new album, which is in stores now.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys were among the many celebrity couples who walked the red carpet together Sunday night (May 20) at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Other couples spotted on the red carpet outside the MGM Grand Garden Arena were R&B singer Monica and her NBA player husband Shannon Brown; country music sensation Carrie Underwood and her NHL player husband Mike Fisher; Lisa Marie Presley and her husband Michael Lockwood; and country singer Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline.

The stars were out Sunday night (May 20) as they all gathered in Las Vegas to attend the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Hot on the heels of the release of her new album “Blown Away,” country music sensation Carrie Underwood landed the cover of the June 2012 issue of Glamour Magazine.

Inside, the singer talks about her new album, her songwriting process, how she deals with being married and in the public eye and more.

On whether or not she could write a country song about being rich and famous:
“With no irony? I don’t think so, because country music is for real people. I think it would be very hard to write about my Louboutins. Do you know what I mean? My giant house, it’s not relatable. But my husband came from a small town and hardworking parents like I did, and I don’t think we’ve lost that mind-set. We don’t have a bowling alley in our basement. We don’t have houses on the beach and one in New York and one in L.A. I drive a three-year-old Ford Escape Hybrid. We don’t care about stuff like that.”

On her new album Blown Away:
“There’s a happy-go-lucky feeling to some of it: A nice spring day, put the top down, turn it up, enjoy the world. But there’s a darker feeling too. We kill a couple people. It wouldn’t be a Carrie Underwood album without a revenge song on it. People really like when I do that. I don’t mean to. I don’t hate men that much. But it turns out so well!”

On her songwriting process:
“I’m not a creative person who’s up until 4:00 A.M., writing songs and being weird. I write with people, sharing stories, catching up. I feel I could easily sit down and write a song by myself, but when you get three people, different emotions pour out, and you take them all, round them up, and make them into one coherent thought.”

On what she wishes were different about her singing voice:
“I’m competitive. When I hear somebody else do something I can’t, it drives me nuts. Steven Tyler–that screamy thing he does? I can’t do that. I have too much control over my voice. Or people like Mariah Carey, who can do whistle tones [notes that are at the highest point of the vocal register]. I’ve tried, but I can’t train myself to do it.”

On doing chores she likes vs. chores she’d rather someone else do:
“I love to be at the grocery store. It makes me happy to have a full fridge and a full pantry. I hate sending my laundry out. I don’t like the thought of other people washing my clothes. What am I happy not doing? Lawn care. And I have a business manager who pays my bills. I did all that myself in college, but I only had one credit card back then.”

On her first irresponsible purchase after her career took off:
“My first stupid purchase was an accident. I was in Paris and went into one of those big, name-brand, fancy-schmancy designers, and I picked up a sweatshirt. Maybe I didn’t understand the price tag. I’m really bad with numbers. But when I went to check out, that sucker was $2,000. I’ve worn it twice.”

On being in a relationship with her husband, Mike Fisher, in the public eye:
“A plus is, he knew what to expect. In Canada he was a big celebrity, so he knows what it’s like living under a microscope. And he travels a lot, which is good for both of us. We’re both independent people, so we can’t have somebody around 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The drawback is that we can go weeks without seeing each other.

“But he’s the only guy I’ve never had to worry about. Any guy I’ve ever dated, there would always be that doubt: ‘He didn’t answer his phone. What’s he doing? It’s late.’ I’m not the crazy-girlfriend type, but there was a little voice in the back of my head. I don’t have to worry about Mike. I don’t think twice. He’s going out? I don’t care; it doesn’t bother me. I don’t bat an eye.”

Carrie Underwood also performed her latest single “Good Girl” Monday night (Apr 30) on the “Late Show with David Letterman.”

Country music was honored Sunday night (Apr 3) in Las Vegas at the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Notable country acts like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Jennifer Nettles, Miranda Lambert and more all walked the red carpet outside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas before making their way into the building the catch the ceremony.

Once inside, the show (hosted by country music artist Reba McEntire for the 7th time in a row) featured performances from Carrie Underwood, Steven Tyler, Taylor Swift and others. Big winners for the night included Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum and more.

Country singer Carrie Underwood walked down the aisle with her fiance NHL player Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators Saturday (Jun 10) at the luxurious Reynolds Plantation Resort in Greensboro, N.C. The couple were surrounded by 250 guests including family and close friends on their special day.

“We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” Mike and Carrie told People.

This makes three celebrity weddings in one day. Basketball star Carmelo Anthony and his longtime fiancee Lala Vazquez along also tied the knot Saturday, as did actor Martin Lawrence who made his second trip down the aisle over the weekend.

27-year-old Carrie Underwood and Mike Fischer, who is 3 years her senior, met in 2008 and were engaged by December 2009. We wish the new Mr. and Mrs. Fisher all the best! Congrats guys…

According to recent reports, the annual event, which was started in 2007, raised nearly $45 million with the help of Mary J. Blige, Elton John, President Obama and Carrie Underwood, as well as Alicia Keys.

As part of media week for the upcoming Super Bowl XLIV football game, Queen Latifah and Carrie Underwood attended the Pregame show and National Press Conference at the Ford Lauderdale Convention Center in Florida yesterday (Thurs. Feb 4).

The singers, who will both be performing just before the Super Bowl goes down on Sunday (Feb 7), busted out and performed a rendition of General Larry Platt’s “Pants on the Ground” in front of the media at the press conference.

Underwood, a former winner of American Idol, was joking asked about the cultural significance of the song: “As a songwriter I know we all aspire to write something that is catchy and has a message. And I think the youth of America can learn a lot from Pants on the Ground. And they can pull their pants up … because it causes all kinds of back problems. I’ve seen the studies.”

Anybody else feel like they wasted time going to Target to pick up those cheap azz 3D glasses? We do!

Last night, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood & Usher took the stage for Michael Jackson‘s much anticipated tribute in 3D during the 2010 Grammy Awards. And vocally, it was great…

Now some of you may not agree with what we are about to say, but uh… minus that, the tribute was VERY LAME. For something that was so hyped up, we definitely expected more. It was great to see these A-List celebs singing MJ’s “Earth Song,” but we would rather have seen something a little more upbeat. Now don’t get us wrong, we love the whole message with the “Earth Song,” but within those 3 and a half hours they could have squeezed in 5-7 more minutes for a REAL MJ tribute, complete with dancing, theatrics and all. We were expecting something crazy like Usher performing “Triller” with a 3D model of Michael Jackson dancing along side of him or something, but clearly we were dreaming way too big.

Poor album sales has caused Chris Brown‘s third studio album Graffiti to open at a disappointing #7 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Additionally, the 20-year-old entertainer’s release only sold an even more disappointing 102,000 copies which is about half of what it was predicted to sell a few days before its release. His last two albums, Exclusive and his self-titled debut sold 294k copies and 154k respectively. Exclusive debuted at #4 on the charts while Chris Brown opened at #2. To this date Chris has never had an album debut at #1.

One artist who hasn’t been having a hard time selling artists recently is “Britain’s Got Talent” runner-up Susan Boyle, whose album titled I Dreamed a Dream sold an impressive 582,000 copies in its third week, rounding the total number of albums sold to nearly 2 million in less than a month! The album has also been sitting in the #1 position since its initial release.

Imprisoned rapper Gucci Mane‘s sophomore album The State vs. Radric Davis moved 90,000 units putting it at the #10 position while Justin Bieber‘s My World moved 97,000 units putting it at #8. Continue reading for the full top 10!

Simply judging by the picture above, we bet you already know openly gay singer Adam Lambert‘s performance of his debut single “For Your Entertainment” was far from “the usual!” Between him kissing boys and walking them likes dogs, dragging women on the floor and pretending like he was getting some dome from a dancer, we didn’t know what to think! But according to Lambert himself, he doesn’t give two sh*ts about what anyone thinks about his performance, which despite all of the craziness, was pretty good. But uhh … back to that “kiss,” which the American Idol runner-up says wasn’t even supposed to happen!

Adam Lambert’s sexually suggestive choreography — including kissing another male — on the American Music Awards stage Sunday night happened “in the moment,” the singer told CNN. Lambert, who is openly gay, said it is “a form of discrimination and a double standard” for anyone to object since “women performers have been pushing the envelope” for decades.

This guy is already pushing the envelope and he JUST released his first single! Can you say; “Male Lady Gaga” ??? Adam’s debut album For Your Entertainment is set to drop today (Nov 23) so his performance and the buzz he’s getting right now because of it was GENIUS!

Other performers who took the stage last night were country music singer Carrie Underwood, producer/rapper Timbaland and Colombian singing sensation Shakira. Carrie performed her “Cowboy Casanova” single while Timbo opted to premiere his hot new single “Morning After Dark” with the help of Nelly Furtado and newcomer SoShy, who are both featured on the track. And Shakira sang her new song “Give It Up to Me” after her “Stomp The Yard” esque opening routine.
