Following the success of “Look at Me Now,” Busta Rhymes decided to team up with Chris Brown once again up for his new single “Why Stop Now,” a cut from Busta Rhymes’ upcoming album “E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2: End of the World.”

The high-energy video — directed by Hype Williams — is chock full of special effects, lots of clapping and some interesting dance moves from Breezy.

Ashanti is back!

The R&B singer has returned to the music scene with her new single “The Woman You Love,” featuring Busta Rhymes. The song, released via Ashanti’s brand new Written Entertainment record label, is expected to show up on her upcoming (currently untitled) fifth studio album, due in stores sometime next year.

“I’m so excited to have my own record label, Written Entertainment. With eOne as my distributor, I feel that their innovative and ambitious approach to the music industry, really gives my label a worldwide presence,” Ashanti said in a statement. “They have the top radio people in the business and are hungry to win! The more I learned the business the more I knew this is what I wanted. Ownership is so important. As a business woman this was a great move for me!”

“Christmas Eve,” written by Chris Brown, is a festive R&B slow jam where Bieber shows off his soulful side with lyrics like, “I don’t need no presents, girl, you’re everything I need / Let me give you all of me / Together on this Christmas Eve.”

The 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards just went down over the weekend (Sat. Oct 1) in Atlanta, and the black carpet posted up outside the Civic Center was littered with rappers and other celebrities.

Hip-Hop figures like Big Sean, Rick Ross, Tyrese, Nelly, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Da Brat, DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J and tons more all posed for pictures as they arrived at the show, hosted by comedian Mike Epps.

MTV decided to switch things up and do something different this year by having an indoor red carpet black carpet for the VMAs.

Held at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles Sunday night (Aug 28), the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards featured black carpet appearances from several celebs, including Beyonce (who announced her pregnancy), Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose, Kim Kardashian, and more.

Many different celebrities were on hand for the 11th Annual BMI Urban Awards, held Friday night (Aug 26) in Los Angeles at the Pantages Theater.

Continuing their recent trend of supporting each other professionally, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland posed for a friendly picture together as they supported Jay-Z and Kanye West — collectively known as The Throne — at their official “Watch the Throne” album release party last night at the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History.

Also spotted at the album release party was Beyonce’s sister Solange, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith, rappers Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes, and NYC hotel mogul Andre Balazs.

Look at him now! Chris Brown stole the stage Sunday night (Jun 26) at the BET Awards. After opening his performance with a short rendition of his “She Ain’t You” single, Breezy invited Busta Rhymes to the stage to help him perform “Look at Me Now,” before segueing into the fan favorite song “Paper Scissors Rock.”

Later in the show, Breezy snagged a couple awards in the “Best Collaboration,” “Best Male R&B Artist,” and “Viewer’s Choice” categories.

Busta Rhymes may be one of the illest rappers to ever pick up the mic……but even he remembers a day when he had his challenges.  In an interview with MTV’s RapFix Live, Busta reflects on getting stomped by Jay-Z during a rap battle in high school. Check out what he said by clicking below:

“One day, somebody came up to me and was like, ‘Yo, Hov is in the cafeteria,’ They weren’t calling him Hov at the time; they were calling him Jay. ‘Do you want to step to him on some rhyme sh–?’ So I go. At the time, when we were rhyming, it was speed rap. That was the thing to do. I knew how to freak it, and he knew how to freak it. And at the time, he was so ill, ’cause of the people he was with at the time, Jaz-O and them, it was their thing [that style]. He kind of got the best of the situation. I got to give it up. He was so ill and his arsenal was so long that he had more than what I did. I spit my one rap, and my tank was empty real fast. He came with two or three after that, and I was like, ‘Here we go.’ But I gave it my best.”

He recalls that as the first time he lost a battle that mattered…..and gives Jay credit for his lyrical genuineness at a young age.

“That was probably the first time that I lost a battle that mattered. [Jay-Z] always exemplified greatness as an MC. He was a scientist with it.”

Rapper Ludacris killed the stage last night at the 2010 BET Awards!

Luda started off his set with his single “My Chick Bad” and in the middle of the performance brought out Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj to finish off the job. However this wasn’t the end for Luda who immediately went into “All I Do Is Win” with singer T-Pain and producer DJ Khaled. And anytime DJ Khaled is involved there usually comes a few more, so Diddy (who brought out his son Christian Combs), Rick Ross and Busta Rhymes decided to join the fun as well.

The 15th Annual Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash went down in a major way last weekend in Atlanta, GA at the Philips Arena. This year’s Birthday Bash featured performances from recording artists Monica, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Plies, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and many more.

Well well well, what do we have here! R&B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys and her boyfriend, rapper/producer Swizz Beatz, walked the red carpet as a couple (for the first time) at Alicia’s Gotham Magazine annual gala presented by Bing at Capitale last night (Mon. Mar 15) in New York City. Swizzy recently announced that his divorce from his estranged wife Mashonda (yeah, dude’s still “technically” married), so now he and Alicia are free to show off their relationship at industry events, instead of hiding from cameras and not being pictured together.

The hip-hop star has tried his hand at acting with small roles in films like Shaft in 2000 and 2002′s Halloween: Resurrection, and admits following in Will Smith’s footsteps and landing a role in a TV series would be a dream come true.
