After topping the charts 14 years ago, R&B singers Brandy and Monica have teamed up once again for the highly anticipated follow-up single “It All Belongs to Me,” produced by Rico Love, who describes the song as a “very soulful R&B song with pop sensibilities.”

“It is not anything like ‘The Boy Is Mine,’” explains Monica. “At this point, this is where you’re taking your power back and we gon’ come together. This is totally different than that era and I hope it speaks to all the people who are making diss tracks and going hard on each other. Come together and watch the numbers move.”

Brandy adds, “This business is all about competition. They forgot about what is the most important, which is two talents coming together. It’s just great to come back and do something with [Monica]. This is definitely a blessing.”

According to Rap-Up, two different versions of the song will appear on Monica’s new album “New Life” (due in stores Apr 10) and Brandy’s next album, also due sometime in the spring, while a video for the single will be shot by director Chris Robinson on February 13th.

In this week’s episode, titled “The Black People Episode,” just when you thought things were cool between Derwin and Malik, the drama on the field continues in the locker room. There’s still bad blood between Mel and Tasha, which spills out during planning for the Saber Sunbeam fashion show where Tasha recruits guest star NeNe Leakes, and Mel is not impressed.

Meanwhile, Jason and Chardonnay (Brandy) start to hit it off and she wants him to meet all of her friends. Jason is a bit hesitant at first, but he later warms up and converses with them about various racial issues.

Brandy and Monica recently went back into the studio together 14 years after topping the charts with their smash hit “The Boy is Mine.”

The R&B singers flew down to Miami last week to record a new song called “Turn the Lights On” with hit-maker Rico Love.

“We have Both Been Blessed Beyond Measure..14years later,” tweeted Monica, followed by Brandy who tweeted, “I love you so much Mo, thank u!”

“The Boy Is Mine,” originally released in 1998, spent 13 weeks at No. 1 before going on to sell over 2.5 million copies in the United States, making it the best-selling song of that year.

Co-produced by Rodney Jerkins, Dallas Austin and Brandy, the uptempo ballad served as the lead single off both Brandy’s “Never Say Never” and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine” albums in 1998.

The song won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal in 1999.

Monica and Brandy are both working on new albums due for release in the spring, and the new duet will most likely appear on both projects.

It was a big night in Hollywood Thursday night (Jan 5) as BET celebrated the return of two of their original series “The Game” and “Let’s Stay Together” at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Some of the stars who walked the red carpet of the premiere party were “The Game” actors Pooch Hall, Tia Mowry, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez and Coby Bell, as well as R&B singer/actress Brandy, singer/socialite Teyana Taylor, “Let’s Stay Together” actors RonReaco Lee and Joyful Drake, and more.

Kyla Pratt even showed up with her boyfriend/baby daddy Danny Kilpatrick, as well as Larenz Tate, Vanessa Williams, Elise Neal, The Game’s creator Mara Brock Akil and a few others.

BET‘s top-rated scripted series “The Game” is set to return for a brand new season beginning Tuesday, January 10th 2012 at 10pm.

Picking up where it left off, Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardrict) contends with Derwin’s (Pooch Hall) abortion accusation; Malik (Hosea Chanchez) and Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) struggle to wrangle an intoxicated Jenna (Tika Sumpter); and Kelly (Brittany Daniel) is still off in the world trying to find herself, leaving Jason (Coby Bell) forced to come to terms with his feelings towards Black women.

The new season also ushers in a new love interest for Jason, who is sure to shake things up!

BET also revealed that R&B singer Brandy will join the cast of “The Game” as a recurring character (Maybe she’s Jason new love interest?).

According to recent reports, viewers can also expect guest appearances from Selita Ebanks, NeNe Leakes, Estelle, Shawn Marion,  Rockmond Dunbar, DeRay Davis and the Emmy Award winning Loretta Devine, among others.

“The Game,” created by Mara Brock Akil (who also created the hit UPN series “Girlfriends”), was canceled by the CW due to low viewership after three seasons back in May 2009 when it was averaging only 2 million viewers.

BET picked the show up in 2010, and its subsequent Season 4 premiere in January 2011 drew 7.7 million viewers, making it the best showing ever for the series on cable broadcast, and BET’s most watched telecast.

With renewed interest in the show and a star-studded list of guest appearances, it will most definitely be interesting to see how many people watch the show when it premieres in January 2012.

Today marks a sad day in the music industry: the 10th anniversary of Aaliyah’s tragic death.

10 years ago today, Aaliyah Dana Haughton, the young R&B singer known worldwide as Aaliyah, was tragically killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas, putting a sad end to a promising career.

Just before her untimely passing, Aaliyah (born in Brooklyn, and raised in Detroit) had just released her third, self-titled album and had filmed the music video for the project’s second single “Rock the Boat.”

She was also in the middle of filming a new movie “Queen of the Damned,” following her blockbuster debut in “Romeo Must Die.” (FYI: Aaliyah was also in negotiations to star in the “Matrix” as well as “Honey” and a re-make of “Sparkle.”)

But all of that was cut short on August 25th 2001 when Aaliyah, who was 22 at the time, and members of her entourage died after their plane crashed shortly after take-off from the Bahamas following the “Rock the Boat” video shoot.

Though Aaliyah was only able to release three albums during her short time here with us, each one left a significant impact on the music scene then, and still shows its influences today.

Brandy

“I met Aaliyah when I was about 15 [yrs old]. It was I think at a rehearsal for the Soul Train Awards and someone introduced us. I was so excited to meet her because she was the first girl on the scene. She came out before Monica and I did, she was our inspiration. At the time, record companies did not believe in kid acts and it was just inspiring to see someone that was winning and winning being themselves. When I met her I embraced her, I was so happy to meet her. I told her how much I loved her. She said the same thing about me and we connected. It was a great moment I’ll never forget.

“We [later] performed at a radio event together. I remember going on before her and I could see her in a section where they kept the artists and she was just bobbing her head, really being supportive. It felt like [there] was no competition, or any of that. She was just very, very supportive. Then when she got on to perform, the entire place was singing her songs word for word, and so I was I. I was trying to sing louder than everybody else so she can hear that I knew her stuff and that I was being just as supportive as she was to me.

“There was a moment when I won at, I think, [Soul Train] Lady of Soul [Music Awards]. She sent me flowers saying how proud she was and ‘congratulations.’ I just thought that was so angelic and sweet of her. People say that Aaliyah is angelic and that just made me feel like ‘wow, that’s a moment.’ Other artists supporting another artist when everybody’s trying to put you against each other, which was very special. I was like ‘whoa, that’s really big of her.’”

Monica

“The first time I met her, she was extremely quiet. You [weren't] going to get a lot of words out of Aaliyah in a first meeting. It takes a lot of time for her to warm up to people because she had this shyness… I’ve never seen [Missy Elliott] in the type of turmoil and pain that she was in after Aaliyah passed because there’s no replacing the type of friendship that her and Missy had.”

Ciara

“She was true to who she was and she didn’t seem to care about it. The core of her art is to me, heavily, heavily, urban based… It never felt like she was trying to reach across or do anything more than just keep that cool, soulful, heavy, urban core about it… I really respect that and I appreciate that.”

Estelle

“Her purity of voice was incredible… Her vocals and style is what had her stand out above and beyond everyone. When I listen to her voice now, I think, ‘She was killing it. She was a beast.’”

Keyshia Cole

“When I found out that she [had] passed that night, I just cried [while] on the tour bus. That’s amazing for someone to have that affect on other people’s lives. I think why it affected me so much without me knowing her is because she seemed to have a beautiful soul.

“[There was] something about her spirit. She connected before reality TV, before any of that happened in our era. It was something about her that made you connect to her. She seemed like she had a beautiful soul.”

“The energy we created together for people to observe was kind of crazy. We’d be in a room full of people talking to each other and it felt like everyone was listening but it would be just us. It would be like we were the only ones in the room. It was like something was going down in history every time I was with her. Every time I was around her I felt it was the place to be.

“Our time together meant so much that when we got more time, we felt like that [engagement] would be next. She was one of the best people I ever met. Even with the pain I felt, I would do it all over again.”

Ginuwine

“The state of R&B in the ’90s, where she stood, she was second to none. She was pretty much the top female. It was a new sound, the production from Timbaland. Everyone had to pay attention. That was just a time I would love to go back to you. Everything was all about us, and it was all about Aaliyah. It would just set her apart from everyone in the ’90s…we came at a great time.”

“When I was on tour her and Joel Silver came to my dressing room to see if I wanted to be a part of the movie. Most people would have their people call, but she came herself.

“I’m like, ‘Is this a trick question? You have to ask me if I want to be in a movie with Aaliyah? Hell yeah.’ We [then] met up in Vancouver to [do] Romeo Must Die. She had a presence on TV that was incredible. It was sexy but kind of gangster.

“We did the [Back in One Piece] video in Mount Vernon and Yonkers. I got to bring Aaliyah to the hood. Not many people can say that. She was easy to talk to and down to earth. Aaliyah made you feel comfortable, with her and with yourself. That’s one hell of a combination.”

“Half these chicks that are doing it right now wouldn’t be doing it [if she were still here]. Aaliyah would be on top. As far as I’m concerned she’s still on top.

“Thank you,” DMX says she would tell Aaliyah if still here. “Thank you for the opportunity. Thank you for memories. They’re all priceless.”

The R&B singer took a break from shooting with celebrity photographer Derek Blanks and shared the sexy photo above with her fans. The images will be used for Brandy’s promotional purposes and as a part of D. Blanks’ world-famous “Alter Ego” pictorial, something he has been working on over the past few years.

Aside from showing off her sexy side, Brandy has also been laying down tracks in the studio in preparation for her upcoming (as-yet-untitled) album, due in stores later this year. She has also joined the cast of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva,” and will appear in the final 3 episodes of the new season.

“Drop Dead Diva is on my favorites list,” Brandy said. “And I am so thrilled that I get to be on it for at least three episodes. And such a juicy role! I’m excited to play a woman with a secret that could have such a huge impact on other characters.”

On the latest episode of MTV’s “When I Was 17,” singer/songwriter Brandy recalled the moment she met King of Pop Michael Jackson and how it all came about.

“When I was 17, my producer Rodney Jerkins was working with Michael Jackson at the time,” Brandy says in the episode, premiering Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. “He knew how much I wanted to meet Michael Jackson, so he says, ‘Would you like to come and meet him?’ I’m like, ‘Are you serious? Of course I want to meet Michael Jackson! Where do I meet you? Where do we come?’ ”

And it wasn’t just Jerkins who knew about the singer’s admiration for Jackson. “Michael Jackson was it, so we studied Michael. Brandy studied Michael,” her brother Ray J says.

Brandy says the super-producer orchestrated the meeting between the siblings and Jackson at the recording studio. However, prior to entering the room, Brandy says nerves got the best of her.

“My heart is beating so fast at this point,” the “Dancing With the Stars” alum recalls. “I’m like, ‘Oh my God. It’s happening. We’re about to open the door and he’s going to be in there.’ ”

Ray J, who was equally excited, peeped around the room, saying, “When we first walked into the studio, we can kind of see Michael in the corner and we looked at each other like, ‘Did you see him?’ ” Unfortunately, Brandy, couldn’t maintain the same type as composure. “And I’m looking at him like, ‘Oh my God. This is Michael Jackson,’ ” adding, “I fainted, blacked out — like seriously blacked out.”

Brandy is laughing off rumors that she is pregnant with her second child.

That website that ALWAYS posts lies (you know the name, we don’t have to tell you) put out a story yesterday claiming that Brandy was expecting a child, possibly with either her ex boyfriend Flo Rida or her rumored new boyfriend Terrence J. However, the R&B (who proclaimed her 6-year celibacy a few months back) has responded to the story herself, telling her Twitter followers yesterday: “Now y’all know dang well I’m not pregnant!”

And speaking of that pesky rumor that she’s dating BET personality Terrence J……Brandy tells Life & Style Magazine that she and the 106 & Park host are just “friends.”

“We’re friends! He’s really nice. I met him on 106 & Park and we’ve always kept in touch. He’s been my friend for about two years now.”

Her rep added: “Right now, Brandy’s just enjoying dating. She’s renewing old acquaintances and getting to know new people. She and Terrence are friends hanging out and getting to know each other.”

So there you have it, Brandy is NOT pregnant and she Terrence J are JUST FRIENDS. Get it? Got it? Good!

Jay-Z and Coldplay helped the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas celebrate its grand opening at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day (Sat. Jan 1) with a live concert held inside the hotel’s Marquee nightclub.

During Jay-Z’s set, he invited Chris Martin from Coldplay and musician John Mayer to the stage, as well as rapper Kanye West to perform alongside him. Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce also sang a duet of his “Forever Young” song later in the evening. Some of the celebrity attendees at the event included Alex Rodriguez, Brandy, Taraji P. Henson, Selita Ebanks, Channing Tatum, Christina Milian and more.

R&B singer Brandy put on a red apron and served up hot meals at a Christmas Eve charity event held at the L.A. Mission in downtown Los Angeles, CA Friday night (Dec 24).

The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, who will reportedly announce details regarding a new record deal next year, was joined by “The Hills” star Stephanie Pratt, actress Alyssa Milano and host Jennifer Love Hewitt, and they all helped serve mashed potatoes, turkey, green beans and other delicious Christmas meals.

Now that Brandy‘s 8-year-old daughter Sy’rai doesn’t believe in Santa Clause anymore, and knows that mom is the one putting the gifts under the tree, she wants an iPhone AND a Blackberry for Christmas.

But Brandy says that ain’t hapnin’ cap’n. She told our friends over at Pop Eater:

“I got her list, and it is ridiculous. When she believed in Santa, she had a smaller list, but now that she knows I’m Santa Claus, she went crazy. Now, she wants a Blackbery and an iPhone 4. It’s like, ‘Little girl, you are 8, and you’re asking for a Blackberry?’”

Even though she won’t be getting any smart phones this Christmas, she’ll still have plenty of other gifts to unwrap.

“It was so cute. She also asked for a hug and a kiss,” Brandy said. “Then clothes and shoes. She’ll get that and a few Barbies and American Girl dolls. But no way is she getting a Blackberry.”

The former “Dancing with the Stars” hopeful says that she hopes to spend this Christmas with her family in Mississippi, where she was born, and she’s looking forward to a good, home-cooked meal.

“I love Mississippi. There is something about the energy there that feels like home, so I want to go back with my family, hang out, eat and go fishing,” she said. “My mom never cooks, but for Christmas and Thanksgiving she does. We always look forward to her cooking,” the singer reveals. “For Christmas, there is a bunch of food and Christmas music. We’ll open gifts and just hang out at the house all day. It’s nothing spectacular, but it is filled with a lot of love.”

Hill, who is the President of Music Programming and Specials for BET, was roasted by stars like Nick Cannon, Mike Epps, Diddy and 106 & Park hosts Raquel Diaz and Terrence J. Others who came out to the roast included Keri Hilson, Brandy, L.A. Reid, Matthew Knowles and Trey Songz.

After the funny roast, Stephen changed into some shorts and a tee to play dunk tank. Former 106 & Park host A.J. Calloway, Mike Epps and Bruno Mars all took a shot at trying to dunk the roastee. Looks like it was a fun night for everyone!

Did you enjoy Brandy and Ray J‘s new VH1 reality show “Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business” when it aired earlier this year? Well, there’s good news for you! A second season is on the way and VH1.com has released the first full episode ahead of the premiere, which airs Sunday (Dec 5) at 11 pm.

In the new season, Brandy and Ray J are seen working on their respective albums, without the help of their momager Sonja for the first time in their careers. Also expect to see Brandy rehearsing for and competing on “Dancing with the Stars” and getting back on the dating scene, while Ray J will be seen working on his music and balancing a new relationship.

Brandy and Maksim being booted off the show came as a major surprise to everyone since they had a near-perfect score last night. And Bristol Palin just keeps making it through EVERY SINGLE WEEK with her low scores, fueling rumors that her mommy (Sara Palin) is using her political pull to reel in votes.

But Brandy says everything is good on her end, despite them being robbed of a chance to compete in the finale.

“If we were robbed, what it didn’t steal is what I gained from working with [professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy], and that’s confidence and, you know, self-assurance,” she said. “All of the things I thought were gone, he really helped reawaken that in me and I’m good with that… Because now, I feel like I can do anything I put my mind to do.”

Brandy recently went on the record to let the world know that she hasn’t had sex in 6 years, and now the R&B singer says she might unlock the gate she’s placed around her goodies so that she can have some more babies in the near future!

Brandy, who is already mom to 8-year Sy’rai, said that she wants 3 more children. And not just any children. She wants ALL BOYS!

“I want three boys,” Brandy told E! News last week outside of a party in Hollywood. “I just think boys are cool. I have a precious little girl [Sy'rai] and I think she’s awesome. I just want to keep her my special little girl and then have the rest boys.”

The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant says she jokes with herself about how long she’s taking to have more kids.

“I’m like, ‘Dude, hurry up before I end up not being able to have no more kids!’ ” she laughed. “[You're] taking too long!”

Brandy says her search to find a good man will be featured in the upcoming second season of her VH1 reality show “Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business,” due to premiere at the top of next month (Dec 5).

“I’m looking for someone with the same values that I have,” she says. “I’m looking for someone that has a pure heart. That has a love for God or the universe…someone that loves children, easy on the eyes, and has a drive to be something very powerful in their experience.”

Brandy and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the “Waltz” and the “Cha Cha Cha” on the last night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Brandy overhwelmed the judges with her sharp and entertaining performance, which earned her and Maksim a total score of 57 (28 and 29) and was possibly the best of the night! Check it out below…

Even though Brandy was officially determined to be not at fault in a car accident that resulted in a woman’s death nearly 4 years ago, the R&B singer says that she’s still taunted by cruel people on the Internet.

“People call me a murderer, they taunt me and send pictures of cars that are basically annihilated. Every report has stated that I was not at fault. People still don’t care.”

Brandy made her big debut on ABC‘s “Dancing with the Stars” this week on the show’s 11th season premiere alongside her dance partner, choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and the two performed a Viennese Waltz to Pixie Lott‘s “Cry Me Out,” which earned the pair a 23/30 score. Judge Lem Goodman called Brandy “fabulous” as he gave the R&B singer his score and review of her performance.

But “don’t believe the hype” Brandy says. This dancing thing is hard work as it’s all new to her! The 31–year-old entertainer told PEOPLE:

“I’m freaking out. Dance has never been one of my strongest points. [If] you don’t have the dance talent, you have like five people behind you making you look good. So don’t believe the hype. This is all new for me.”

Instead of back-up dancers though, Brandy is relying on her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who she says really helps her to stay on track.

“He’s hot so that helps! What’s so crazy is that Maks was born on the same day as my brother [Ray J] . . . and I’m born on the same day as his mother. So I kind of feel like we were meant to be partners and I’m meant to do this show.”

The premiere of the new season of ABC‘s hit dance competition series “Dancing with the Stars” is coming up soon, and names are being thrown around left-and-right suggesting who’s in as cast members for the upcoming brand new season of the show!

Various sources are reporting that R&B singer Brandy, retired NFL quarterback Troy Aikman and reality TV stars Audrina Patridge (from “The Hills”) and Ali Fedotowsky (of “The Bachelorette”). Other stars rumored to join the DWTS cast include singer Michael Bolton and MTV reality star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (from “Jersey Shore”).

In the past, celebrities like Nicole Scherzinger (Season 10 winner), Chad Ochocinco, Pamela Anderson, Evander Holyfield, Master P, Mario Lopez, Emmmitt Smith (Season 3 winner), Laila Ali, Mel B, Kim Kardashian, Toni Braxton, Lil Kim, Donny Osmond (Season 9 winner), and tons more have appeared on the show, now in its 11th season.

The all-new season of “Dancing with the Stars” is set to air on ABC starting September 20th. The official cast will be announced at the end of this month (Aug 30).

Well what on earth do we have here??? Has Paris Hilton found herself some new BFFs? …… Not yet … but maybe one day!

R&B singers (and “besties”) Kelly Rowland and Brandy hung out together Wednesday night (Aug 18) in Los Angeles and had dinner at celebrity hotspot Katsuya. And as the two were enjoying their meal, Paris Hilton spotted them and snapped a few pics of herself and Brandy before making a “grand exit” out of the restaurant hand-in-hand with the singer, who she later tweeted about: “Ran in to Brandy at Katsuya. She is such a sweet girl :)”

However we hear that this “meeting” was staged somewhat, because Paris is said to have asked Brandy & Kelly to leave the Japanese restaurant at the same time as her so that the paparazzi wouldn’t notice her with a mystery man. But whatever the case may be, you have to admit, Kelly Rowland, Brandy and Paris Hilton makes for an odd group!

The 2010 BET Awards went down Sunday night (Jun 27) live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and the red carpet was full of black star power as celebrities like Ciara, T.I. Good things don’t last forever! R&B singer Brandy and rapper Flo Rida have officially broken up. The break-up was apparently due to Brandy needing to focus on more important things in her life (like her music career) right now.

“I don’t have a rapper boyfriend named Flo Rida. I am very much about myself. I have to focus on what I need to do.”

Oh well… we never really thought they were all that great of a couple anyway!

Meanwhile, Brandy says that even though she’s been going around rapping under alter ego “Bran’Nu” at impromptu concert performances, don’t expect her to come out with a Hip-Hop album anytime soon. The R&B singer herself declared that she will not be changing her careers:

“Maybe two songs (on her new album) feature rap, but I’m not turning into a rapper.”

This will probably be music to her momager Sonja Norwoods’ ears because if you watch their show on VH1, you’ll know that Mrs. Norwood wasn’t feeling Bran’Nu at all. So this is def. a good move for Brandy. She isn’t a horrible rapper, but she would get smashed by the likes of Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj, and others. She just doesn’t even come close, so she’s sticking to what made her who she is today… R&B!

Hip-Hop elite honored the dirty south Thursday night (Jun 3) at the 2010 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors. Held in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom, the VH1 Hip-Hop honors was hosted by actor/comedian Craig Robinson and honored Dirty South Hip-Hop Legends like Jermaine Dupri, Master P, Uncle Luke and more.

Celebrities who walked the red carpet before the big show include Keri Hilson, Brandy, Ray J, Chilli, Mystikal (and his pregnant girlfriend), Taraji P. Henson, Rick Ross, Slim Thug, Kelly Rowland, Trina and more.

R&B singer Brandy hit the stage Wednesday night (May 26) for an intimate concert performance at the Key Club in West Hollywood. The singer/reality TV star performed at “R&B Live Hollywood” and her set included classic songs from her catalog of albums in addition to an incredible cover of the Etta James classic “At Last.”

When did Ciara and Paris Hilton become so close? The new BFF pair seemed to be inseparable as they partied night away Wednesday at Timbaland‘s birthday party at Drai’s Hollywood in California. The producer/rapper who goes by the name of Timothy Mosley outside of the entertainment biz turned 38 back in March, so we’re not sure why he waited over a month to celebrate it but hey… if he likes it we love it!

Ray J was once referred to as ‘Brandy’s little brother.’ In the past he was in your shadow. Have the tables turned?
“Have the tables turned? I don’t think that. I think that Ray just found his own way. He found what he loves to do and I’m so proud of him. It’s so funny because when he was known as my little brother, I couldn’t really enjoy my success because I wanted him to have it. So for him to have it – to come out of the shadow and have his own name and have his own thing going on… it makes me proud. I’m just glad that he even wanted to do a reality show with me and our family. He could do For The Love of Ray J 3. I was excited when he came to us about Family Business. Although very hesitant and scared about it, I thought that was cool that he thought of that.”

Did you support Ray J doing For the Love of Ray J?
“I just don’t think that you can’t find love that way. I never thought that. I wasn’t supportive in that, ‘oh yeah this is it, you’re going to find the love of your life.’ But I told him, ‘you’re not going to find love like that. If you’re looking for love, that’s the wrong way to go about it.”

What’s going on in your love life?
“Honestly, I’m just trying to stay loving myself. I’m really scared to give my heart to somebody. I have friends but I’m not serious with anybody yet.”

It’s been said that you’re dating Flo’rida. Is that true?
“I don’t want to say it’s not true. He’s definitely someone in my life that I hang out with from time to time. I think he’s cute and all that. I’m in a place where I just want to make sure I’m right before I get serious with anybody. But I definitely have my eye on Flo’rida.”

We see you and Kelly Rowland together a lot. Are you good friends?
“Kelly’s my best friend. We are born on the same day. I love her, she’s amazing. Kelly and I were friends back in the day and we then separated and went our own way. She’s the friend that I prayed for and said, ‘Please God, give me another chance with her.’ She’s just a great friend. And God did. We are back in each others lives. I love being around her. I call her my twin. It’s a very special relationship and I just don’t want to ever lose her again.”

You and Kim Kardashian were friends also. Were you there for Kim during the sex tape scandal?
“It’s not that I didn’t want to be there. It’s one of those things where that person has to call on you for support and that didn’t happen because they were dealing with their own thing individually. [Ray J] just did his own thing to get over it and she did the same thing.”

Are you and Kim K still friends?
“I still have a lot of love for Kim to this day. If Kim ever needed me for anything, I would be right there for her. She was a very close friend of mine. You know people fall apart and sometimes that happens. But she’s another one that if she ever needed me I would definitely be there. Once you care about somebody – once you love somebody, you’re not just going to think about them no more. It’s very difficult. I’m open to forgiveness and moving passed stuff.”

Who is Bran’ Nu?
“Bran’Nu is the boy version of me. It’s a hobby. Rapping is a hobby for me. It’s another way to express myself, creatively. Timbaland heard about it and wanted to feature me on his new album, which I was really excited about because I never thought I’d do it professionally. I like becoming that side of myself. It’s kind of tough, it’s kind of bitchy. I love that because I’m not that on a normal basis. I’m a cry baby. The other side of me is raw and like, “you got something to say to me? You got something to say to me? Say it to my face.” That’s who Bran’Nu is, not Brandy.”

The brother/sister pair are heading a new reality TV show on VH1 that will document their family’s journey through the entertainment business, and in the latest issue of JET, the pair talk about always having each other’s back and keeping their family first.

Meanwhile, Brandy and Ray J paid a visit to George Lopez‘s late-night talk show “Lopez Tonight” earlier this week to discuss a lot of things, including Ray J’s former relationship with Kim Kardashian (and the infamous sex tape), Brandy’s new relationship with Flo Rida and more.

R&B singer Brandy confirmed in a recent interview with Vibe Magazine that she and rapper Flo Rida are indeed a couple. She also spoke on taking her time before jumping into relationships, honesty, cheating, being afraid to give her heart away and more. Check out what she had to say below:

My daughter hasn’t seen me with anybody in five years. I’ve been very cautious of who I date because I haven’t really dated in five years, so I’m very, very selective when it comes to that because I want to make sure that it’s real. I don’t want her to see me with just anybody because she means everything to me. So she hasn’t seen me with anybody since my last relationship. I don’t like that women are judged more than men when it comes to dating in the industry. It’s definitely stereotypical. We’re judged and men get praised for what they do.

Dating is hard, period, whether it’s in the industry or not. But it’s just a little bit harder because everybody’s all in your business. Everybody wants to know what’s what and the pictures and the paparazzi, all that stuff is crazy. But it is what it is. I’ve seen the photos of me and Flo Rida. It doesn’t matter how we met. We met. I don’t want to say that we’re a couple. I can definitely say that he’s somebody in my life and I’m definitely interested but I’m not serious with anybody. I’m a little bit afraid to give my heart away right now. It’s very scary. I’m open to it, but I just want to make sure that I’m taking my time.

It’s definitely because of my past and of course because my gut feeling is like, okay take things slow, don’t go too fast, make sure that your heart is in the right place, his heart is in the right place. That’s hard. I don’t want to go too fast and it not be what I want it to be later on.

If you’re a nice guy and you have your stuff together and you believe in family, I don’t care what industry you’re in. But people that are in the entertainment business are scary because there’s so much out there for them. They can get whatever they want and you have to be a strong guy to be in a committed relationship. You have to be strong and ready for that. And I just think if you’re not ready for that, then don’t tell me that you are and you’re not. Don’t be ready. Be honest with a girl. That’s what I told my brother. As long as you’re honest with women, then you’re fine. Then you can do what you want to do, just as long as you’re honest. Don’t tell somebody that they’re your girlfriend and then you go out and act like you don’t have a girlfriend. That’s not right.

So I’m scared in that sense because I don’t play around with the whole cheating thing. Please don’t do that. I don’t like that. At all. I’m so scared of that. I’m scared to give my heart away. I don’t know where to find a good guy. I just think that they’re around and I think you have to be good and at some point you’ll attract that. I really believe that. First, people should stop looking. The looking thing does not work. Just let love find you.

R&B singer Brandy and rapper Flo Rida, who are rumored to be an item, were spotted at the First Annual Kids Spring and Break into Motivation event Saturday afternoon (Apr 3) in Miami, FL.

These two have been spotted out and about together in recent months, sparking rumors that the two are dating. This is the first time they’ve been spotted out publicly together, so we guess this pretty much confirms it… right?

What do you think about Brandy and Flo Rida dating?

Early Tuesday morning (Apr 5), Monica tweeted a link to this picture of her and Brandy (who looks like she smoked a lil sumthin’ sumthin’ lol) over the weekend at a club in Miami. These two R&B singers pretty much ran the 90′s music scene and joined forces (a la Beyonce & Lady Gaga) back in 1998 to create the hit single “The Boy is Mine.”

In related news, Brandy recently spoke to our friends over at Hip Hollywood on how Monica’s recent success (her new album Still Standing is currently sitting at #2 on the Billboard 200 album charts) has inspired her to be just as great whenever she decides to come back to music.

“That’s my girl. I think that she’s holding it down for not only me, but for everybody else who is true to R&B, and I’m just proud of her. And Monica is the possibility that you can kill it, with the right music, the right look. So she is the ideal right now for me and I mean… I don’t know what else to say!”

The music video for “We Are the World: 25 for Haiti” debuted Friday night (Feb 12) during the opening ceremony for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

This version of the song, featuring vocals from Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, Janet Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, T-Pain, Usher, Wyclef Jean and much more, is much more contemporary than the original but it fits today’s music era. The song’s original writer and singer Michael Jackson also appears in the song and video (his sister Janet sings the first chorus with footage of Mike thrown in). They also kept one of MJ’s original parts and show footage of him singing it (Nice!).

The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.
