Apparently the 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards were full of surprises: from T-Pain replacing Katt Williams as the host at the last minute, all the way down to T.I. and Ludacris sharing the same stage. NEW YORK // FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH 2008 » Rapper Bow Wow is trying to get as many people as possible to register to vote (if they’re still able to) and once registered and able, to actually go out and vote at the polls this November. He and singer Michelle Williams participated in a walk on New York City yesterday afternoon.

“I used to think going to the mall and hollering at girls (was) more important,” Bow Wow told reporters. “But in reality, we are in a different time now. My focus now is to take it a step further to make a change and vote.”

Bow Wow, who recently appeared on HBO’s Entourage, launched this “Walk Across America” campaign last Wednesday, and the goal of the movement was to hit as many major cities as possible within 15 days: Philadelphia; New York; Washington; Baltimore; Boston; Nashville, TN; Hartford, CT; Mobile, AL; Richmond, VA; and Columbia, SC.

Bow Wow is encouraging the young voters to get out and vote with his new initiative titled, Walk Across America. He will be visiting over 14 major cities to help get his positive word out. Bow Wow is also busy finishing up his sixth album, New Jack City Pt. II, which will be in stores in December. You can also catch him on HBO’s television series, Entourage, playing as Charlie. With me focusing on my marriage to Vanessa Simmons, I don’t have much time to even think about worrying about what’s going on with Bow Wow and my sister-in-law, Angela Simmons. But are these two dating now? Last I heard, Rev. Run wasn’t playing that relationship crap unless Bow Wow was seriously thinking about tying the knot in the future. Our friends over at Rap-Up was a big part of the hyped up Xbox 360 Madden Showdown between Bow Wow and The Game due to the back-and-forth taunting YouTube messages. Bow Wow claimed up and down he was WAY better than The Game in Madden ‘09! So did he actually prove his GAME?! Check out the video above.

MTV studios was full of short dudes this afternoon when Bow Wow, Andre Benjamin, and John Legend hit up TRL to promote their new projects. Andre and John premiered their brand new video for “Green Light,” and if you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, you can do so here.
