Rapper Bow Wow announced Sunday night (Aug 16) via his Twitter that he had officially signed a recording contract with Cash Money Records, the parent label for Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment.

The rapper had parted ways with his longtime label, Columbia Records, earlier this year. In previous Twitter dispatches, he explained he was deciding between two recording options: T.I.’s Grand Hustle camp through Atlantic Records or relaunching So So Def when Jermaine Dupri signed a new deal.

In the end, a third option emerged.

“We had two sit-downs,” Bow Wow said of meeting with Cash Money. “Upon the first sit-down, I called [co-CEO Birdman] and told him what I wanted to do. So it was a no-brainer. He was like, ‘Bow, you always been family. Next to Wayne, I look at you like my son. If you not with JD, you with us.’ From there, it was a done deal. So I wanna thank [him], Slim and Wayne.”

After hooping it up with Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Tucker and Bow Wow at Shaq’s crib, Chris and Bow Wow hit up the bowling alley where he announced a new album, a new single, gave a shout-out to his fans and let everyone know that he’s “not a monster” via Bow Wow’s Justin.tv page.

“I just wanna say what up ’cause I ain’t been out there in a minute, but a new album’s gonna be coming soon, called Graffiti… I’m about to drop a single this summer for y’all, we ain’t going nowhere… Everybody out there that’s haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love y’all … I ain’t a monster.”

Bow Wow says he’s done it all as far as his music career goes, and now he feels like it’s time for him to put the mic away and focus on his acting career. We couldn’t be more excited!

“This is my last album because for me, there’s no more that needs to be done on the music side, I’ve done everything. The scary thing is I’m 22 years old and I’m young. I’m still a baby, so it’s kinda like on the music side, I’ve been doing it since five. That’s 17 years of non-stop music, music, music. There’s nothing more to accomplish that I haven’t seen yet. I feel like now it’s time to endure a new challenge, close the chapter on the Bow Wow legacy. As far as albums, I’m good. Seven albums at 22, that’s crazy.”

His latest attempt at music, New Jack City II, flopped HARD, selling less than 30,000 copies in its opening week! We’re not sure how an act as big as Bow Wow can end an opening week with numbers that low, but we do agree that it’s time for him to find something else to occupy his time because music is NOT it. Looks like Bow Wow’s love for Angela Simmons is a one way street with a dead end. Bow Wow professed his love for Rev. Run’s daughter saying that she was the love of his life in his feature for Giant Magazine. The two had been romantically linked in the past, and for some reason little Shad just can’t let go. But Angela wants everyone to know that she has a new boyfriend (from Texas) and is NOT checking for Bow Wow, but she wishes him the best of luck. Rapper Bow Wow has publicly declared his love for Angela Simmons. The 22-year-old FLOP told Giant Magazine that the daughter of Joseph Simmons aka Rev. Run is the “love of his life.”

“Angela Simmons is the love of my life. She’s a young black woman doing something incredible. She’s a CEO of a company at 21 years old and a positive role model for kids.”

Angela Simmons needs a real man … not a little kid who’s pretending to be a grown man who can’t even sell 30,000 albums. Plus, she’s too fall for him. And we just don’t like him that much around here.

Either he was really tired or really drunk, but Jermaine Dupri was caught passed out d-e-a-d snoring in the hallway after a Bow Wow’s album release party last night. NEW YORK // FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH 2008 » Rapper Bow Wow is trying to get as many people as possible to register to vote (if they’re still able to) and once registered and able, to actually go out and vote at the polls this November. He and singer Michelle Williams participated in a walk on New York City yesterday afternoon.

“I used to think going to the mall and hollering at girls (was) more important,” Bow Wow told reporters. “But in reality, we are in a different time now. My focus now is to take it a step further to make a change and vote.”

Bow Wow, who recently appeared on HBO’s Entourage, launched this “Walk Across America” campaign last Wednesday, and the goal of the movement was to hit as many major cities as possible within 15 days: Philadelphia; New York; Washington; Baltimore; Boston; Nashville, TN; Hartford, CT; Mobile, AL; Richmond, VA; and Columbia, SC.

Bow Wow is encouraging the young voters to get out and vote with his new initiative titled, Walk Across America. He will be visiting over 14 major cities to help get his positive word out. Our friends over at Rap-Up was a big part of the hyped up Xbox 360 Madden Showdown between Bow Wow and The Game due to the back-and-forth taunting YouTube messages. After the shooting at the celebrity party event, we thought it would ruin the week but it didn’t. Jermaine Dupri, Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, Nelly, Chris Tucker, Larenz Tate, Josh Smith, Kevin Hart, and many more played in the SoSoDef Vs. Derrty Ent. game last night at Morehouse College. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of the event but JD has uploaded yet another video to his YouTube Channel so enjoy!

Bow Wow has recorded and uploaded a new video to his YouTube Channel of a track from his new album Pedigree (LBW Ent./SoSoDef). The title of the track explains itself, “Big Bank Take Little Bank”. Bow Wow has a whole new swag on this new album. He’s really trying to prove his relevance to the hip hop game. Check out the video up top!

Bow Wow & Danity Kane both premiered thier new videos for the recording of FNMTV yesterday. Bow Wow premiered his latest single, “Marco Polo” featuring Soulja Boy, which will be on his new upcoming album Pedigree. Danity Kane finally released another single, “Bad Girl” featuring Missy Elliott, and the premiered their video for thier single. DK’s album Welcome To The Dollhouse (Bad Boy/Atlantic) is now in stores! P!nk is someone we haven’t seen in awhile! She was there as a guest co-host commentator. P!nk also has a new album to be released sometime this year. She actually has a video that’ll be premiering on FNMTV next friday (August 1st) for her single “So What”. Bow Wow is currently working on his seventh recording album, Pedigree, which is set to be released in stores this Fall 2008. He already has a single out featuring Soulja Boy titled “♫ Marco Polo”. His long time male role model and producer, Jermaine Dupri, was ejected in some of Bow Wow’s previous projects but Bow Wow has repaired those “misunderstandings”:

“He’s my father,” Bow Wow said. “He’s the dude when you in the crib and have your arguments, you move out the crib. … But me and JD are back tight again. We hanging out every day. I’m putting him on this song Swizz Beatz did for me called ‘Big Bank Take Little Bank.’ I’m trying to throw him on there right now. Y’all gonna see JD on the album even if he just gets on there and says, ‘Y’all know what this is!’ He’s gonna be a part of it even if I have to drag him.”

Bow Wow just uploaded a new video of him and filming on the set of his new single and music video for “Marco Polo” featuring Soulja Boy. Bow Wow is set to release a new album, Pedigree, which is due in the 4th quarter of 2008. The new album is said to have big collaborations already. Jermaine Dupri, Swizz Beatz, Chris Brown, Lil’ Wayne, Nelly, Omarion, T-Pain and R. Kelly are all said to be on board with Bow Wow’s new album. Bow Wow uploaded a new video to his YouTube Channel furious about how people love to hate on people in general and try to clown him and others for no reason. I can see where he’s coming from personally. People hate for no particular reason. For example, people hate Kobe Bryant and they don’t know why. It’s crazy how much information you can find out just by watching videos on YouTube. It seems like more and more celebs are becoming “YouTubers” and are letting fans into their crazy but fun lifestyles. Bow Wow has just opened a new YouTube Channel where you can see him candidly living his life and best believe he’s living large. You can even see him filming sections of his upcoming film, “Patriots”, which star Bow Wow (of course), Lil’ Wayne, Forest Whitaker, Taraji P. Henderson and Isaiah Washington. Our friends over at Rap-Up.com did a video interview with Yung Berg and he got to talking about his upcoming album, Look What You Made Me (Epic), which is due in stores August 12th. He also talked ghost writing for other artists and how he claims he’s the “prince” of the game supposedly coming at Bow Wow. He also mentioned who wrote Bow Wow’s hits like “Shortie Like Mine” and “Bounce Wit Me”. Is this new beef? Check out the interview above.

British supermodel Naomi Campbell was spotted on the set of popular television series “Ugly Betty” in Beverly Hills Thursday (May 1st). When asked about her experienced on the set, this is what she had to say:

“I was given a crash course in playing softball and at one point hit the ball so hard it actually broke in half! I had a fantastic day on set; the cast and crew were lovely. The coach said he had never seen anyone pick up the game so quickly.”

Broke the ball in half? Cast and crew were lovely? Not surprising. First of all, I’m sure she’s very fond of “hitting things” with baseball/softball bats, with that temper of hers and all. So I’m sure breaking that softball in half was nothing. And, if I were part of either the cast or crew, I’d be “lovely” too. There’s nothing worse than a pissed off Naomi Campbell … especially a Naomi Campbell with a baseball bat in her hands!

Apparently, Omarion was dropped from Columbia Records according to AOL Black Voices. In February 2005, Omarion released his first solo album, “O”, then in October 2006, he released his sophomore album “21″. Both albums went Gold only. Then in December 2007, Omarion and Bow Wow, released their collaborative album, “Face Off”, which only sold 347,137 since the release date (SoundScan).
