After announcing that they would be taking an indefinite break to focus on their various, individual personal and professional career goals, The Black Eyed Peas played one last concert together as a group at The Sun Life Stadium in Miami Wednesday night (Nov 23) for the the final night of their tour.

“Black Eyed Peas is a family. We are friends, and we helped each other get here – and you guys are an extension of that friendship. We are here in this stadium today representing family and love, a day before Thanksgiving, and we thank you guys for the love,” BEP frontman Will.i.am shared with the sold-out crowd.

“We are not breaking up,” Taboo told Reuters on Monday, with Apl.de.ap adding, “We’re going to take a little vacation and focus on our personal things.”

Other performers who shared the stage with the Peas Wednesday night were Queen Latifah, Cee-Lo Green, Sean Kingston, T-Pain, Jason Derulo and Flo Rida (not pictured).

The Black Eyed Peas are about to put more focus on their solo careers…..

At a concert in England yesterday, Fergie announced the group will be taking a break from each other.

“This is a very special show for us. Because it is the last time we’re going to be in England for a long time. We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you’ve given from the beginning.We’re going to be taking a break just like we did after we released Monkey Business in 2005 until we came back in 2009. But this isn’t going to be the last time you’ll see us.”

Will.I.Am later took to his Twitter to confirm the news.

It always saddens when a group decides to separate…..but who knows? It may be for the best.

The Black Eyed Peas are back with a new video for “Don’t Stop the Party,” the 3rd single from their latest album The Beginning. Directed by Ben Mor, the video was shot while BEP were on tour in South America.

According to reports, The Black Eyed Peas are opening a music academy based in New York for teens aged 13-19 in July 2011.

On Tuesday it was announced that the BEP’s charitable foundation Peapod will join forces with the Adobe Foundation to open the Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Music and Multimedia Academy in lower Manhattan, NY.

Speaking on the partnership, Will.i.am said: “Our passion for music and media was fueled by many generous people on our road to success. Expanding the network of Peapod Adobe Youth Voices academies enables us to pay it forward, giving more youth the skills and encouragement they need to realize their dreams.”

The academy will be located in a building operated by Urban Arts Partnership, which runs after-school arts programs for at risk teens. Students who demonstrate interests in subject areas such as camera work, editing and graphic design will be accepted into the academy based on recommendations from teachers.

We bet some stars will be made at this academy. We said it here first!!

The Billboard Music Awards are set to do it big this year!

The ceremony is set to take place in Las Vegas on May 22nd, and some of the biggest names in the industry are set to take the stage. Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas, Taio Cruz, Keith Urban and 2010′s crossover kings, Lady Antebellum, have all been tapped to perform at the show, which ABC will air live from Sin City’s MGM Grand.

Prometheus Global Media owns the magazine and CEO Richard D. Beckman said of the show:

“This show marks the first of several broadcast platforms we plan to build around the Billboard franchise. We have an incredible network partner and with Don Mischer, one of the finest producers in the world. We look forward to entertaining music fans with Billboard’s own rendition of a televised celebration of music.”

The Black Eyed Peas kicked off Saturday night’s 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards with a rockin’ performance!

Followed by an energetic intro from host Jack Black (who later joined the quartet on-stage), the group rocked the stage in their fluorescent/neon-colored get-ups as they performed a medley of “The Time (Dirty Bit)” and “Just Can’t Get Enough.”

The Black Eyed Peas pulled through with a spectacular Super Bowl Halftime Show performance! The foursome, serving as the first Pop act to perform during halftime since the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake “Nipplegate” incident 7 years ago, ran through a medley of their biggest hits Sunday night (Feb 6) at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

The Peas were later joined by Guns N Roses rocker Slash, who performed the classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine” with Fergie, as well as R&B singer Usher, who sang his hit single “OMG” with BEP frontman Will.i.am.

The line-up for the highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime show just got a little bit more interesting.

Usher and Slash are scheduled to hit the stage during the upcoming upcoming Super Bowl XLV halftime show. The two rock stars will join fellow rock stars Black Eyed Peas in Arlington, TX.

A source close to the event told the AP that the R&B artist and the Guns N’ Roses guitarist will be featured in a special “surprise” portion of the much publicized halftime show. This year’s show serves as the first halftime show featuring young Pop acts since the big Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake incident back in 2004.

Both Usher and Slash have worked with BEP members before, with Slash previously taking the stage with the group for a rendition of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” (a popular Guns N’ Roses song) at the 2009 Rose Bowl, and Will.i.am appearing on Usher’s hit single “OMG.”

Reps for the Super Bowl have neither confirmed nor denied Usher and Slash’s appearances.

Stars began arriving at day one of The Jingle Bell Ball at the O2 Arena in London today (Sat. Dec 4).

The Black Eyed Peas, who released their sixth album The Beginning in November, were there to do their thing. Fergie arrived wearing a leopard print sun hat and dark sunglasses while Will.i.Am rocked his Lego accessories.

Singer Nicole Scherzinger was also in attendance with a very retro hair-do and outfit, looking better than ever.

The Black Eyed Peas recently announced that the follow-up to their last album The E.N.D. is almost finished and will be released before the end of the year. The new project is currently titled The Beginning and it “symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts, [and a] fresh new perspective.”

The band seems to to be unstoppable. Their previous album went double-platinum and their single “I Gotta Feeling” stayed at No.1 for 14 weeks straight and became the best-selling song in digital history.

Singers Alicia Keys, Shakira and John Legend, along with Pop/Hip-Hop super group the Black Eyed Peas, rocked the stage Thursday night (Jun 10) in front of 40,000 fans at the Orlando Stadium to kick-off festivities for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa. This marks the very first time the World Cup has been to Africa, and Alicia, Shakira, John and BEP put on quite the show to help celebrate the occasion.

R&B superstar Usher hit up The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday (Mon. May 10) and performed his #1 hit single “OMG” as part of the Oprah’s “Star-Studded Harpo Hookups” special which also featured guest appearances from Justin Timberlake, Cher and Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am, who joined Usher for his “OMG” performance.

Timberlake appeared via Skype and gave away a pair of golf clubs to a lucky fan who was surprised to learn she’d be taking lessons on the links with the “Cry Me a River” star. The woman, who claimed to be JT’s biggest fan, is set to be married soon, and her fiancé helped organize the surprise. The fan told Timberlake that she listens to his CD when she’s having a bad day to feel better.

Another fan, named Josh, was flown to a Cher concert by his partner but got “hooked up” by getting a chance to meet the diva herself backstage. Peas frontman Will.I.Am took cameras on a tour of his childhood home in Los Angeles and later helped out a family that was struggling financially. The superstar producer helped the family avoid foreclosure. “That’s a great hookup,” Winfrey beamed after the producer’s announcement.

Usher then appeared in the studio at the end of the show to perform his #1 hit “OMG,” produced by Will.I.Am. The singer had fun during his appearance, dancing with Oprah and even tossing his designer shades toward her after he walked away from their twirl. Oprah was fully engaged in Usher’s performance, especially during the song’s chanting “Oh, oh, oh,” which she repeated while wearing Usher’s shades.

The Black Eyed Peas cover the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. In the issue, the group’s front-man Will.i.am claims that he helped end a 25-year-old feud between Michael Jackson and Prince. The 35-year-old singer worked with the King of Pop before he died last year and talks about reuniting Prince and MJ at a Prince concert a couple of years back:

Two years ago, Prince invited Will.i.am to sit in with him at a show in Las Vegas. Will asked if he could invite a singer-songwriter he was working with – Michael Jackson, who Will says had a beef with Prince running back to a 1983 misunderstanding at a James Brown concert. Jackson showed. “I told Quincy, and he was like, ‘I can’t believe you got Mike to go there,’” says Will.i.am. “Prince and Michael Jackson? Come on dude. That’s connecting worlds.”

Pop singer Rihanna was spotted supporting her boyfriend Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday afternoon (Apr 13) in LA as the Dodgers took on the Arizona Diamondbacks. LA’s team took the win for the game, held at Dodgers stadium, with a final score of 9 – 5. Rihanna and her friends were seen cheering when Matt hit a home run during the baseball game.

Black Eyed Peas front-man Will.i.am was also at the 2010 Opening Day game between the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks, and the rapper/singer/producer was granted the opportunity of throwing out the first pitch.

Usher‘s new music video for “OMG” (featuring Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas) premiered this week and it features the entertainer showing off some new dance moves with various lighted laser-filled back-drops. Peep what the vid’s director Anthony Mandler had to say about it:

“The video is a spectacle. It really emphasizes what we love about Usher and the character and the icon that he is, and most importantly, it’s really a video that showcases his superstardom.”

The Black Eyed Peas took over Times Square in New York City Wednesday night (Mar 10) and performed a surprise concert in an effort to promote the launch of Samsung’s new 3D TV’s, which are available this week.

Though the concert wasn’t publicized, due to an NYC regulation that states that events in Times Square can’t be formally announced until 30 minutes prior to they’re scheduled to start, but Twitter and other forms of social media allowed the Peas to attract a crowd of around 10,000 people.

Between being a mother and trying her damnedest to take her estranged husband Nas for everything he’s worth, singer Kelis is a pretty busy woman! But that’s not stopping her from putting out new material and making some more money to fund her lavish lifestyle. “Acapella,” the debut single from her forthcoming 5th studio album FleshTone, due in stores May 4th, hit No.1 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs Chart this week; and her label put out a picture of her in the song’s upcoming music video.

In a recent interview with VIBE Magazine, Will.i.am, head of Will.i.am Music Group, the label Kelis’ new album will be released under, said that the singer, popular for her “Milkshake” song back in the early 2000′s, could be as big as his group the Black Eyed Peas.

“Kelis has always been a best kept secret,” says will, who inked the singer/songwriter to his Interscope-distributed label, will.i.am Music Group last December. “The cool people know Kelis. But the majority of people just know ‘Milkshake.’ If Kelis were fashion she would be a girl’s favorite pair of shoes or a coat…high fashion. I would like Kelis to show she’s an international sensation. She can be big. A lot of people think big is being on the radio or that being big is having a show in London, France and sometimes Japan. But that ain’t international…that’s just three countries. The Black Eyed Peas are big; the Black Eyed Peas are international. I think Kelis can be that big. As big as the Peas.”

Will also points out that artists like Kelis usually don’t get their deserved shine because of out-of-control egos that control the hip hop industry. “A lot of time rappers have these labels and they don’t let their artist become bigger than them,” he says. “I’ve proven that’s not me. Fergie is huge. When Fergie blew up she was bigger than me! I believe Kelis can do the same.”

FleshTone, Kelis’ first album in nearly four years, will be launched alongside a promotional tour that is set to kick off at the Winter Music Conference in Miami later this month. Additional details will be announced shortly.

The Black Eyed Peas kicked off their first tour since 2006 Thursday night (Feb 4) in Atlanta at the Philips Arena. During the show, which featured an opening set from ATL’s own Ludacris, BEP’s Will.i.am said that they chose to open the tour in Atlanta because they’re what’s hot right now so what better place to kick off the tour than “Hotlanta?”

“When they told us the tour was going to start in Atlanta some of my friends were like huh? Why don’t you start in L.A. or New York?” the group’s will.i.am said at one point. “I said because the Black Eyed Peas are hot right now. It’s got to be Hotlanta!”

The Black Eyed Peas performed their new upbeat single “I’mma Be” at last night’s Grammy Awards. After prepping the crowd, Will.i.am led the group into their next song, the party track “I Gotta Feeling,” which really got the crowd going. BEP ended up taking him 3 awards Sunday night (Jan 31) in the following categories: (1) Best Duo/Group Pop Vocal Performance, (2) Best Pop Vocal Album and (3) Best Short Form Music Video.

Pink opened up her circus-like performance of “Glitter” in a long white number that she eventually ditched revealing a sexy skin-tight nude colored piece. And wow… we’ve gotta give it to Pink for this performance. We don’t know many people who can perform trapeze acts in the air while singing!

Pink admitted that maybe she wasn’t the most obvious person to play on the show last night, since she had only lesser nominations. “People were like: Why is she here? This is why bitches,” she sneered, referring to her show-stopping, circus like performance.

Whoops, their bad!

The Black Eyed Peas were accidentally named “Best International Group” at the 2010 NRJ Music Awards by singer Ke$ha and French choreographer Kamel Quali, who apologized after they realized they had announced the wrong band as the winners. The real winners were German band Tokio Hotel, and the mix-up happened because the card apparently listed the nominees AND the winner. Quali told the booing crowd to blame organizers, and not him and Ke$ha, because they shouldn’t have listed the winner and the nominees on the same card to begin with.

BEP still took home an award though. Their 2009 track “I Gotta Feeling” won the award for “Best International Song,” which is ironic because just last year a song of Katy Perry‘s was accidentally awarded the same honor, when it was really intended for Rihanna. And speaking of Rihanna, the singer performed her single “Russian Roulette” and won her own award: “Best International Female.”

Meanwhile, singer Beyonce won the award for “Artist of the Decade” at the show, held Saturday night (Jan 23) in Cannes, France at the Palais des Festivals. Producer/rapper Pharrell Williams presented her with the big award. More pics/videos from the 2010 NRJ Music Awards below…

Clothing brand Famous Stars & Stripes celebrated their 10th anniversary with a big party at Vanguard Tuesday night (Dec 8) in Hollywood. The party also doubled as an album release party for rapper Snoop Dogg‘s 10th studio album Malice N Wonderland, which was released to stores the same night. Travis Barker, pictured with Snoop above, along with other celebrities like Sean Paul, Pharrell Williams, Ray J, Mike Epps, Vanessa Simmons, Lamar Odom and many more all came out to celebrate both occasions.

Rapper LL Cool J hosted the 2010 Live Grammy Nominations concert Wednesday night (Dec 2) at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. The event was televised live on CBS, the same network responsible for airing the 2010 Grammys on January 31st.

Tonight was CBS’s primer for the first award show of the 2010 season. The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will air on January 31st at the Staples Center. It was pretty obvious from the start that CBS just needed to fill an hour and must be sponsors of The Black Eyed Peas. The pop group co-hosted. LL Cool J started things off with a great rap, then BEP took over with “I Gotta Feeling” (which we got to hear in the background throughout the concert).

Well there you have it. The biggest star of the year 2009 would have to Beyonce and she’s leading the list of nominees for the upcoming 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, which will be held January 31st at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8 – 11:30 PM (ET/PT)

Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul thinks she can be the next Oprah now that the talk show queen will end her reign after next year.

“I have really great ideas,” Abdul told Extra Monday. Abdul, 47, said she hopes to do a talk show in the next two to three years. “It would be fun and quirky and it would be insightful,” she said. “It would be fun to jam with the band and have amazing guests and introduce amazing different formats on the show.”

The Grammy winner is confident in the potential project.”I feel I would be really good at it. I have the ability to connect with people on a level,” Abdul explained. “I’ve proven to pierce the heartstrings, but also to be celebratory and bring out the best in people.”

Abdul respects Winfrey and calls her a “phenomenon” who “broke barriers and let the path for other women to be empowered.” She added, “Like ‘American Idol,’ there’s a place and time that makes history. That’s Oprah.”

The Black Eyed Peas took the stage last night at the 2009 American Music Awards, held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The highly successful “hip-pop” group managed to take over the Billboard charts for the majority of the year and Will.i.am let it be known at the end of their their performance medley of two of their chart-topping singles, “Meet Me Halfway” and “Boom Boom Pow,” when he shouted “Six months #1! The new kings!

Legendary R&B singer Whitney Houston performed “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” from her new album I Look To You. Her vocals weren’t all that great, but it was her “comeback performance” (as far as awards shows are concerned) and at least she wasn’t high on drugs or anything. So we definitely give her an A for effort, keeping in mind that she’s gotten older now (and she used to smoke rocks back in the day) so her voice isn’t EVER going to be like it used to be. At the end of her performance, which was met with a standing ovation from the audience, actor Samuel L. Jackson presented her with the “International Award of Excellence.”

R&B singer/songwriter Mary J. Blige flawlessly performed her new single “I Am” and hit every single note perfectly. Her new album Stronger withEach Tear (originally titled simply “Stronger”) is due to be released on December 22nd.

And pop-rock singer Kelly Clarkson‘s performance of “Already Gone” was also good, even if the song sounds like Halo Part 2. We’ll even give her a pass on her rapid weight gain (homegirl must like to eat!) because we all know she can blow!

The 2009 American Music Awards were held last night (Sun Nov 22) at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA. It looks like the Black Eyed Peas didn’t get the memo that we’re still in a recession! The group has just released their third music video for their next single “Meet Me Halfway,” taken from their #1 album The E.N.D. and it looks like they dropped some major dough with all of the special effects and what-not.

The Black Eyed Peas attended the launch party for Jeepney Music, a new record label launched by BEP member Apl.de.ap, at the Ecco Lounge in West Hollywood.

“The Los Angeles-based record label is founded on the principle of giving back, to both Apl.de.Ap’s homeland of the Philippines and the global community,” the singer’s representatives said in a news release. “Jeepney Music will feature not only emerging recording artists, but will also highlight the growing number of disc jockeys and collaborative artists as he continues to build his label on the forefront of the digital transformation of music.”

All unsigned artists in the Los Angeles area were given the opportunity to drop off their music demos at the event between the hours of 10 PM and 12 AM.

Rapper Kid Cudi and actress Tamala Jones were also spotted at the event.
