Amerie is back to fight her way back up the charts with her latest album, In Love & War. After Touch, her last US released studio album was released in 2005 she’s back from a hiatus with brand a new home at Island Def Jam and a new line of producers behind her unique and soulful voice. With the release of her lead single “Why R U,” she let fans get a taste of 80’s Hip-Hop flare and hinted at what was to come next, which was the official single, “Heard ‘Em All,” penned and produced with the help of Sean Garrett and Eric Hudson.

You can definitely tell the absence of Rich Harrison was missed throughout this projectl though with the help from today’s best, the project came out well written and the sound quality was efficient. Amerie has had a lot of buzz during the past week with the anticipation of her new album. Amerie released a album, Because I Love It, in 2007 which hit shelves in the US after a year of being in the UK. With a four year void of Amerie she comes back hard with with her track “Heard ‘Em All” stating her landing back onto the scene.

Def Jam recording artist Amerie’s upcoming fourth album, In Love & War, originally slated for a September 29th release, has reportedly been pushed back to November 3rd. This marks the fourth time the album has been issued a new release date. But surprisingly, Amerie isn’t bummed about it.

“Very happy w/my album date! Got the one I wanted,” she tweeted. “So I’m officially putting it out there: In Love & War — November 3, a special date…”

In Love & War will feature production from The Buchanans, Teddy Riley (”Tell Me You Love Me”), Sean Garrett and Eric Hudson (”Heard ‘Em All”), Jim Jonsin and Rico Love (”Swagback”), and Bryan-Michael Cox (”Red Eye”).

Upcoming appearances include the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (Sept. 13) and VH1 Hip Hop Honors 2009 (Sept. 23).

In this edition of “Who Owns the Look” we have Singers Rihanna and Amerie rocking the same pair of ($237) Vintage Cazal Sunglasses. Amerie wore her shades first at the Target & Converse One Star Movie Awards after party in June and even rock’d them in a recent promo shoot, while Rihanna was spotted wearing hers this week while at Da Silvano restaurant. It was announced about a month ago that R&B singer Amerie had found herself a new home at Def Jam records, after parting ways with Columbia Records earlier this year. Above you can check out her HOT new promo, which is probably linked to her new album that is supposed to be coming out real soon. Hopefully Def Jam can attempt to revive her career over here in the U.S., because Columbia just couldn’t get it right for some reason. Neither of her albums have reached platinum, and only one hit gold (barely).

Acording to Contact Music singer Amerie has switched record labels and is now official a Def Jam Artist.

Singer Amerie is set to undergo a career overhaul – after signing a deal with the record label which turned Rihanna into an international superstar.

The 1 Thing hitmaker has parted ways with Columbia Records and inked a deal with Def Jam, the company that secured the massive track Umbrella for Rihanna last year (07), catapulting her to global fame.
