Once again it’s history in the making as two worldwide multi-platinum selling artists are set to do something major! On Wednesday, October 28th on the field of the Yankee stadium prior to the Major League Baseball World Series Opening game, rapper Jay-Z and singer/songwriter Alicia Keys will perform their new song “Empire state of Mind” in front of thousands of fans at the arena, in addition to the millions of people watching at home.

And following their performance, Keys will redirect all attention to just her as she performs the National Anthem. Jay-Z proudly made the announcement via a MLB press release Monday (Oct 26).

“As a die-hard Yankee fan, I’m honored to perform a song that celebrates the greatness of New York in one of our city’s most important landmarks, Yankee Stadium.”

Both performances will air on Fox prior to the game when The New York Yankees take on the defending champions, the Philadelphia Phillies, at 7:30 PM  Eastern.  This also marks the first time that the World Series is being dedicated to community service since its beginning in 1903.  Both stars have had a rough childhood and are now on top the world between their music and success; these two starlets personify the, “American Dream.”

We just hope security is extra tight this time around so that Lil Mama can’t rush the field and crash their performance on account of her being “in the moment” lol!

Singers Alicia Keys and Mario were spotted as they exited MTV Studios in New York City earlier today. The two had just recorded an episode of MTV’s “It’s On With Alexa Chung,” a live interactive entertainment, music, talk and variety program that regularly features the most popular celebrities and musical performances from the hottest artists.

Alicia is busy promoting her new album, The Element of Freedom, due in stores December 1st, and her new music video for “Doesn’t Mean Anything.” Mario, on the other hand, is busy pushing his recently released D.N.A. album and his new “Thinkin’ About You” music video.

It looks like Justin Timberlake called in the big guns all in the name of charity. TLC, Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg and Ciara all performed live in concert in support of Justin’s benefit for Shriners Hospitals for Children at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino Saturday night (Oct 17) in Las Vegas.

Producer/rapper Timbaland and country music sensation Taylor Swift also performed at the second annual “Justin Timberlake and Friends” benefit concert.

R&B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys played host to her sixth annual Black Ball to benefit the “Keep A Child Alive” AIDS organization Thursday night (Oct 15) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. The huge celebrity guest list at the event included Halle Berry, Usher, Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Cannon, Tyler Perry, Robin Thicke, Mary J. Blige and more. Looks like the issues surrounding this “love triangle” between Swizz Beatz, his soon-to-be ex wife (and mother of his child) Mashonda and his new woman, Alicia Keys, have reared their ugly head again! Though Beatz and Keys (that sounds funny together, haha!) have yet to publicly announce that they’re knocking boots, anybody who follows either of the two know what’s going down behind closed doors. They’re always at events together, send mushy messages to each other on Twitter and have even been spotted by the paparazzi enjoying an intimate evening.

Well now Mashonda’s fed up with the whole situation and has decided to put A. Keys on front street for allegedly assisting in the failure of her 5-year marriage. Here’s a message she sent to Alicia the other day on Twitter.

After having a great evening with my son and enjoying some fun twit chat, I decided to sign off and get some work done. However, a few hours later I was advised that I should check @aliciakeys twit page. I’ve never reached out to her on twitter before. I feel our issues are a lot more serious than a website conversation. Not to mention that I’ve reached out to her many times in the beginning of this whole thing, as any wife would do. Unfortunately, I never succeeded in getting a response. The 1st time I meet AK, my husband introduced us to each other at an event. ( I have no choice but to call him my husband, until he is not anymore) In the messages that I sent to her (AK), I made it very clear that on the contrary of what she might be hearing, I am still married to my husband, living with him and just had a child. Its been two years and I still have not received a response. What I do receive, is constant displays of selfishness and disconcern to me and my son.

I was a fan of AK’s last album, we were both signed to J Records and I always checked up on her projects. I sang her songs and admired her for creating Superwoman and Karma, I would never deny her, her talent. I believed in her until I found out she was possibly sleeping with my husband. The affair was denied by both, until it was finally admitted months later.
