The 2011 American Music Awards took place at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California last night (Sun. Nov 20).

The annual showcase of American music was quite the star-studded spectacle too, with red carpet appearances from the likes of Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Soulja Boy, Taio Cruz, Miguel and many more.

The 2011 MTV Europe Awards were held Sunday night (Nov 6) in Belfast, North Ireland.

The show, which was hosted by singer/actress Selena Gomez, is held annually to highlight European music, and also draws A-List stars from the United States. This year’s show featured appearances and performances from Gomez’s boyfriend Justin Bieber, Taio Cruz, David Guetta, Bruno Mars, Ludacris, LMFAO, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and more.

As far as the actual awards were concerned, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga picked up the most trophies, including best male and best female act. Gaga also won awards for best song and best video for her hit single “Born This Way,” while Bieber picked up the award for best Pop act.

Other awards went to Bruno Mars, Eminem, Katy Perry and British rock band Queen, who received the “Global Icon” lifetime achievement award.

American Idol alum Adam Lambert made quite the impression during Lady Gaga’s surprise 25th birthday bash this last Sunday (Mar 27).

Lambert, 29, wasn’t even invited to the bash at L.A.’s La Cita Mexican restaurant, but attended as a guest of the Scissor Sisters, who have been opening for the “Born this Way” singer on tour, Perez Hilton told the Morning Dish radio program Thursday.

“Adam showed up beyond drunk,” said the gossip blogger. “Super sloppy embarrassingly drunk!”

Lambert began some intense fist-pumping and kept beating on the walls until he’d actually punched a hole in the building’s low ceiling, Hilton said.

Another onlooker tells UsMagazine.com:

“Adam acted like an animal. He kept jumping up on the tables and chairs and screaming. When they brought the cake out he tried to smear it in Gaga’s face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth!”

Then Lambert tried to serenade the birthday girl, “like he was auditioning for Idol again!” Hilton said.

Eventually Gaga asked her security to kick him out, added the witness. Speaking on the incident, Lambert took to his Twitter page where he tweeted the following.

“My hand still hurts. LoL,” he wrote Wednesday. “Was trying for celebratory gesture 4 gaga’s B- piñata style…instead my fist is all bruised and la cita has a hole in the ceiling. #sloppy.”

Certified weirdo. Scratch that. Certified DRUNK weirdo.

Pop singer Katy Perry got into the Christmas spirit at the Y100 Jingle Ball concert Saturday (Dec 11) by wearing a sexy Mrs. Clause inspired outfit as she performed for the annual event, held this year at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL.

Other performers included Selena Gomez, Jay Sean, Enrique Iglesias, Flo Rida, B.o.B and more. Kim Kardashian even made an appearance on stage!

The 21st Annual MuchMusic Video Awards went down Sunday (Jun 20) in Toronto, Canada at the MuchMusic HQ. Rising hip-hop superstar Drake and rising Pop sensation Justin Bieber, who arrived together in a limo, posed for pics on the red carpet before making their way into the building to catch the show. Recording artists Ke$ha, Adam Lambert and Katy Perry, along with Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove (from iCarly) also walked the red carpet at the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards.

Drake, who is from Toronto, later hit the stage to perform his hit single “Over” and Justin, also a native of Canada, took to the stage for his own performance of his latest singles “Somebody to Love” and “Baby”. The Biebster also came out a second time for a quick appearance with his new BFF Miley Cyrus during her “Party in the USA Performance.” Meanwhile Miley, who hosted the show, also performed her new single “Can’t Be Tamed” while Pop singer Ke$ha took to the MMVA stage for a performance of her hit debut single “Tik Tok” and Katy Perry performed her new song “California Gurls.”

In a recent interview with VMan Magazine, American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert spoke on fashion, his image and how “fearful” our society is. The first openly gay male pop star also expressed his love of fashion, adding that he’s “always wanted to play dress-up.”

“What I do has been done before,” says Lambert. “It’s glam. I’m inspired by the ’70s and ’80s. Bowie is a huge influence. So are hair bands.” But recent male pop stars have been less adventurous than they were twenty or thirty years ago, mainly due to homophobia. “Why must a crazy look necessarily be gay?” asks Lambert. “Our society is more fearful, I guess. And they don’t party enough. Everyone was partying in the ’80s.”

For Lambert, creating his sensational image is, in a way, his favorite part of stardom. “I’ve always just wanted to play dress up,” he laughs. “Last night I was trying on this Dolce & Gabbana suit—I love the way Dolce fits—and noticed this mannequin in the corner with this weird headdress made out of melted ribbons. So we sewed it onto the suit. It was great. I ended up looking like someone had left me too close to the fireplace.”

The star-studded 52nd Annual Grammy Awards went down last night (Sun. Jan 31) in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. The site itself is hosted by Youtube, Sony and Google and currently features video content from artists on Universal. ABC has canceled two more upcoming Adam Lambert performances likely because of all of the negative hype surrounding his performance at this year’s American Music Awards, televised live on ABC Sunday, November 22nd.

Lambert spread word of the cancellations Wednesday night (Dec. 2) via Twitter. “Yes, sadly friends, ABC has canceled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. :( don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat,” he wrote. The “American Idol” alum had been booked to perform on the late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Dec. 17 and was allegedly set to perform on the network’s annual “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special, which, like the AMAs, is helmed by Dick Clark Productions.

Alhough ABC has scrapped every appearance Lambert had booked on the network since the AMAs, other networks — including CBS and now NBC — continue to welcome him with open arms. “I AM doing Leno though,” the singer Tweeted, referring to his upcoming Dec. 21 performance on NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show.” “And lookin into something for NYE.”

The American Idol alum’s debut album For Your Entertainment debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album and it sold nearly 200,000 copies in its opening week.

Adam Lambert sat down with Ellen yesterday on her show to discuss his American Music Awards performance and to perform his new single “Whatya Want From Me” from his debut album For Your Entertainment. Shortly after his raunchy performance at the 2009 AMAs American Idol season 8 alum Adam Lambert released the music video to his debut single, “For Your Entertainment.”

The video sees Adam strutting into a night club (wielding a total pimp cane) and singing his catchy first single while good-looking people gyrate around him.

There’s also a snake involved (literal, not metaphorical) and lots of leather ‘n lace. We’re fans. It’s definitely a step up from the American Music Awards performance of the same song. And no, Adam — we’ve never thought you were “soft and sweet.”

Pop singer Adam Lambert hit up CBS’ hit morning series “The Early Show” Wednesday (Nov 25) in New York City to talk about his new album, For Your Entertainment, and his highly controversial performance at Sunday’s American Music Awards.

He was supposed to appear on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” but the American Idol season 8 runner up’s appearance was pulled after Sunday night’s performance, which has been one of the most talked about incidents throughout the past week or so. But some people are heated that ABC will still go on with their Chris Brown episode after they canceled Adam’s.

Brown will do a taped tell-all with Robin Roberts, followed by a performance of songs from his new album. But TV insiders say the appearance, slated to air the week after next, has outraged feminists and gay activists who wonder why a convicted girlfriend abuser is more palatable to the network than an openly gay man who broke no laws with his raunchy performance on the “American Music Awards.”

An ABC source said, “The network is giving a mixed message — that it doesn’t trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault.” ABC News has insisted that Lambert’s sexual orientation did not play a role in its decision to pull the plug on his “GMA” appearance this week.

ABC insiders said they ruled the “American Idol” star’s sexed-up shenanigans on Sunday’s awards show — which included him groping a female dancer, kissing a male musician and shoving a male dancer’s face into his crotch — were inappropriate for morning TV. One said, “He was not canceled over a gay kiss. He showed himself to be unpredictable on live TV.”

Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul thinks she can be the next Oprah now that the talk show queen will end her reign after next year.

“I have really great ideas,” Abdul told Extra Monday. Abdul, 47, said she hopes to do a talk show in the next two to three years. “It would be fun and quirky and it would be insightful,” she said. “It would be fun to jam with the band and have amazing guests and introduce amazing different formats on the show.”

The Grammy winner is confident in the potential project.”I feel I would be really good at it. I have the ability to connect with people on a level,” Abdul explained. “I’ve proven to pierce the heartstrings, but also to be celebratory and bring out the best in people.”

Abdul respects Winfrey and calls her a “phenomenon” who “broke barriers and let the path for other women to be empowered.” She added, “Like ‘American Idol,’ there’s a place and time that makes history. That’s Oprah.”

Simply judging by the picture above, we bet you already know openly gay singer Adam Lambert‘s performance of his debut single “For Your Entertainment” was far from “the usual!” Between him kissing boys and walking them likes dogs, dragging women on the floor and pretending like he was getting some dome from a dancer, we didn’t know what to think! But according to Lambert himself, he doesn’t give two sh*ts about what anyone thinks about his performance, which despite all of the craziness, was pretty good. Adam Lambert’s sexually suggestive choreography — including kissing another male — on the American Music Awards stage Sunday night happened “in the moment,” the singer told CNN. Lambert, who is openly gay, said it is “a form of discrimination and a double standard” for anyone to object since “women performers have been pushing the envelope” for decades.

This guy is already pushing the envelope and he JUST released his first single! Can you say; “Male Lady Gaga” ??? Adam’s debut album For Your Entertainment is set to drop today (Nov 23) so his performance and the buzz he’s getting right now because of it was GENIUS!

British pop star Leona Lewis already has a reputation for being a good girl, but now she says she’s not only a good girl … she’s a “good diva.” And she’s not going around spending unnecessary money unlike her celebrity counterparts.

“The term ‘diva’ has such a negative connotation, but I see myself as a kind of good diva. I’m a next-door diva,” she said in the latest issue of Petra magazine.

Leona says she doesn’t make crazy demands and insists that she’s very frugal, unlike most pop stars in the industry. And her biggest purchases so far have been her house and her two cost-efficient environmentally friendly whips.

“The biggest things I’ve bought are a house and my two cars. One of the cars is a Mini Cooper. But in Los Angeles I always drive a Hybrid Toyota Prius which is very environmentally friendly.”

Sorry about the big gap in updates today, we had some biz to handle … just like these celebrities we caught on the scene handling their business this past Tuesday! Rapper Wale visited Fuse Studios in New York City Tuesday (Nov 10) to appear on Fuse TV’s “Hip Hop Shop” to promote his new album Attention Deficit, which dropped that day. In a series of tweets following his debut album’s launch, the D.C. born emcee said that each song on his album tells a story:

“On the train, bumpin’ my album,” he wrote. “I feel like telling y’all facts about Attention Deficit. Why not? There’s a story behind every song. On ‘Mama Told Me,’ I had something stuck in my teeth. At the beginning you can hear me making this weird noise tryin’ to get it out.” (Warning: Once you know that fact, that’s the only think you can hear.)

A few minutes later, he added that producer Mark Ronson actually encouraged Wale to tone down the lyrics of “90210,” where he skewers Paris Hilton (among others). “I admit i was too mean on that,” he wrote. Finally, he said that the album’s best track almost fell by the wayside. “‘Contemplate’ almost didn’t make the album. Jay-Z was a writer on the song sampled and we couldn’t reach him until the last minute.”

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert premiered his new single “For Your Entertainment” taken from his debut album by the same title, due November 23rd. The track was produced by Dr. Luke and the single cover is above. As for the track, we’re pretty sure that with the right promotion and a hot video, it will be a hit. Singer Adam Lambert took to his Twitter yesterday and spoke on the controversy surrounding the cover of his upcoming debut album, For Your Entertainment.

“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s a homage to the past. It IS ridiculous. For those that don’t get it: oh well… Glad to have gotten your attention. Androgyny. Rock n Roll.”

We’re just glad he knows that it’s extremely campy; but if that’s what he was going for, then we say, “Rock On!”

In other album news, he also revealed that his debut single was produced by Dr. Luke and is also titled “For Your Entertainment.” Adam describes it as a dance track that will make you “shake yo a**es” Other tracks on the album are “Soaked”, “Music Again”, “Strut”, “Aftermath”, “Broken Open”, and “Down the Rabbit Hole”; the last four being penned by Lambert himself.

Michael Jackson‘s brothers (L – R): Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon arrived together on the red carpet of the King of Pop‘s new film, “This Is It,” which premiered worldwide Wednesday (Oct 28) and made $2.2 million on its opening night in North America Tuesday (Oct 27). Here the remaining members of the iconic “Jackson 5” music group are pictured with the director and producer of the film (and the former tour) Kenny Ortega.

American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert revealed the cover for his debut album For Your Entertainment.

The album is set to hit stores November 23rd and will be going head to head with big names like Rihanna, Diddy, Timbaland and Britney Spears.

The cover definitely fits Adam and his style but we’re calling it risky because in today’s mainstream America, you don’t see many covers like this (read: he looks very androgynous in this pic). It’s a ballsy move and overall it’s just a bit too much! Hopefully this album works out well for him cause he’s got the talent.
