Janet Jackson sat down with ABC’s “Good Morning America” for an interview that aired Thursday (Dec 15) where the 45-year-old entertainer announced that she is the new face and body of the popular Nutrisystem diet program.

Janet says her self and body image issues, which started when her brother (late Pop idol Michael Jackson) teased her about her weight when they were kids, inspired her to inspire others and become the face of Nutrisystem.

“It’s a matter of learning how to keep it off, that maintenance and they have a program for that,” Janet shared. “My success plan is to be healthy and feel good about me.”

In addition to the Nutrisystem announcement, Ms. Jackson also talked about her niece Paris Jackson, and what she thinks about her signing on for a role in the upcoming movie “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys.”

“I’m happy for her because this is what she wants to do,” she said. “[But] I said, ‘You should really take this time to enjoy your youth to its fullest’ because you lose so much of your childhood in this industry.”

Jackson also discussed how she’s doing after he trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of her brother, Michael.

“It’s been a great deal of happiness and a great deal of sadness,” she said.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon‘s newborn twins Moroccan and Monroe — aka “Dem Babies” — made their big world debut during their parents’ highly publicized interview with Barbara Walters on ABC’s “20/20″ that aired Friday evening (Oct 21).

MiMi and Nick showed off their beautiful babies as they talked about everything in the interview, from being new parents to married life, their struggle to conceive, Carey’s high-risk pregnancy and much more.

“I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” 41-year-old Carey told Walters. “Carrying two babies. Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through, because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”

As for Nick, he said he doesn’t want them to follow too much in their famous parent’s footsteps, and he’s already planning ahead for his children’s future, calling the tins “little geniuses.”

“Society puts too much on entertainment and entertainers,” Cannon said. “They praise them like they’re royalty, especially in America, where it should really be about the teachers or, you know, the doctors. I want them to be able to sing as beautifully as their mother. I want them to be able to play instruments and everything. But I want them like … ‘Go get a Ph.D.’”

Back in June, Nick Cannon told US Weekly that his son Roc was “laid back like me,” while daughter Roe takes after her mother. “My daughter’s a diva like her mom,” he said.

After much fanfare and anticipation, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon welcomed their new additions into the world at a hospital in L.A. on their fourth wedding anniversary on April 30th.

Kristin Cavallari is the latest celebrity to be eliminated from ABC’s hit dance competition show “Dancing with the Stars.”

The former MTV reality star and her dance partner Mark Ballas were sent packing last night, despite them scoring a 24 Monday night for their samba routine, a personal best for the pair.

After several boos from the audience following the shocking elimination, Kristin said, “I’m a little surprised to be honest, but I’ve had such a great time and it’s been an awesome experience, so it is what it is.”

Host Tom Bergeron also chimed in with some encouraging words for Kristin and Mark, saying, “My sense is … you did so well, the judges loved you, the audience loved you and my guess is people said ‘Oh they’re fine’ and might not have voted.”

Even though last night was disappointing for Kristin, at least she has the arms of her on-and-off boyfriend Jay Cutler to fall into.

After calling off their engagement this past July, Cavallari and Cutler are reportedly back together! The pair were spotted holding hands Tuesday morning in Los Angeles and Cutler was in the crowd Monday night cheering his girlfriend on as she did her last dance.

54 year old Katie Couric has no plans of slowing down anytime soon! After recently stepping down from CBS news, the anchorwoman is in talks with ABC for a wapping $20 million programme deal.

This may be good news for Katie, but General Hospital fans may not be too pleased as the show could get axed as a result of the network taking Couric on.

According to TMZ:,

ABC would also give Katie a 1-hour, 5-day-a-week syndicated talk show, that would begin in September, 2012. Our sources say … one option ABC is considering is giving its affiliates back the hour where “General Hospital” airs to make room for Katie. In other words, ABC would axe the third longest-running soap in history and the last one standing on ABC.

As for the moola, our sources say the entire package for Katie and her partner, Jeff Zucker is a $20 million GUARANTEE for the syndicated show — and that’s just for the the first year. We’re also told Katie will get a “nominal amount” for her work in the news division.

Are no long running soaps sacred to you at all anymore ABC!?!

This is a sad time for soap opera fans everywhere. ABC recently confirmed the dreaded rumor that has been floating around for months that the sun will set permanently in the fictional towns of Pine Valley and Llanview, as ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ wrap up for good.

“To honor the core, passionate audience and their rich history with our soaps,” both shows will conclude “in a manner that respects their legacies and the longstanding hopes of many of their viewers,” reads a press release from ABC.

ABC big wigs point out to viewers that times are changing and say they were “guided by extensive research into what today’s daytime viewers want,” and blame, in part, “the changing viewing patterns of the audience” for the gut wrenching news.

‘All My Children’ began as a half-hour soap opera in 1970. ‘One Life to Live began’ 2 years prior, in 1968. AMC’s last episode will air in September, while OLTL will end in January of  2012.

May they forever rest in peace. Or syndication. Whichever is more profitable.

Despite his recent outburst on the set of “Good Morning America” this past Tuesday (March 22), Chris Brown will still be performing on “Dancing With the Stars” next week as scheduled.

It had been rumored that ABC planned to axe the R&B singer’s scheduled appearance after he allegedly smashed a dressing room window and stormed out of the New York studio of the network’s sister show, “Good Morning America,” following a line of questioning about his past assault on ex- girlfriend Rihanna.

But now, sources close to DWTS say ABC is willing to let bygones be bygones, and give the 21-year-old singer a second chance.

“Chris Brown is, of right now, still confirmed to perform on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday,” sources close to DWTS told RadarOnline.com. “The subject of canceling was brought up but the decision was made to keep him on. “It was a tough decision for the network to make and it involved a lot of discussion, but they ruled in favor of him in the end. However, the Dancing cast has been ordered not to make any comments to the press regarding Brown’s performance.”

Glad ABC isn’t crucifying the guy like most members of the “media” tend to do…

Chris Brown‘s “violent” outburst early yesterday morning (Mar 22) on the set of Good Morning America may cause ABC, the network that owns GMA, to nix the R&B/Pop singer from next week’s scheduled performance on ABC’s  hit show “Dancing With The Stars.”

According to Pop Eater’s Rob Shuter:

“Chris was so dangerous backstage that we called 911,” a ‘GMA’ insider tells me. “He totally flew off the handle after being asked a question about his 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna. Now ABC has to decide if they are willing to let this man promote his music on a family show on its network or walk away from this obviously troubled young man.”

During the ‘GMA’ interview to promote the release of his new album, ‘F.A.M.E.,’ Brown told anchor Robin Roberts, “It’s not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation. I think I’m past that in my life. Today’s the album day, so that’s what I’m focused on.”

Rob went on to reveal:

“If the network doesn’t care about promoting this thug, they should care about protecting its staff,” a rival executive tells me. “This sort of behavior is not acceptable from anyone no matter how talented or famous they might be. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ is one of the biggest shows on TV, and if they do decide to allow him to promote his music on it he should definitely be asked to say sorry for throwing a chair and smashing a window.”

Several ‘Dancing With the Stars’ cast members have already told me they want nothing to do with Chris Brown.

Diddy made an appearance on “The View” Tuesday (Dec 14) to promote his newly released album Last Train to Paris.

As he sat on the couch amongst the ladies of “The View,” host Barbara Walters grilled the Hip-Hop mogul on his baby mama drama and asked him why he has so many, and not one of them has a ring on it.

“What’s the trouble?” asked Walters.

Diddy went on to explain his situation before inviting his Dirty Money co-stars Dawn Richard and Kalenna for a Diddy-Dirty Money performance of “Coming Home,” a single from “Last Train to Paris.” Video footage from both the marriage discussion and the performance can be found below…

Mariah Carey‘s Christmas-themed TV special, titled “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to You,” aired last night on ABC.

The event was taped last month at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, and showed MiMi as she performed songs from both her holiday albums (Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas II You), including a duet of “O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus” with her mother, professional opera singer Patricia Carey.

Beyonce’s Thanksgiving TV special airs Thursday night (Nov 25) on ABC and the live DVD will be released the following day on Black Friday (Nov 26) at Walmart before being released worldwide next Tuesday (Nov 30). The Blu-ray edition hits stores December 7th in selected countries.

Brandy and Maksim being booted off the show came as a major surprise to everyone since they had a near-perfect score last night. And Bristol Palin just keeps making it through EVERY SINGLE WEEK with her low scores, fueling rumors that her mommy (Sara Palin) is using her political pull to reel in votes.

But Brandy says everything is good on her end, despite them being robbed of a chance to compete in the finale.

“If we were robbed, what it didn’t steal is what I gained from working with [professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy], and that’s confidence and, you know, self-assurance,” she said. “All of the things I thought were gone, he really helped reawaken that in me and I’m good with that… Because now, I feel like I can do anything I put my mind to do.”

Brandy and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the “Waltz” and the “Cha Cha Cha” on the last night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Brandy overhwelmed the judges with her sharp and entertaining performance, which earned her and Maksim a total score of 57 (28 and 29) and was possibly the best of the night! Check it out below…

Brandy made her big debut on ABC‘s “Dancing with the Stars” this week on the show’s 11th season premiere alongside her dance partner, choreographer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and the two performed a Viennese Waltz to Pixie Lott‘s “Cry Me Out,” which earned the pair a 23/30 score. Judge Lem Goodman called Brandy “fabulous” as he gave the R&B singer his score and review of her performance.

But “don’t believe the hype” Brandy says. This dancing thing is hard work as it’s all new to her! The 31–year-old entertainer told PEOPLE:

“I’m freaking out. Dance has never been one of my strongest points. [If] you don’t have the dance talent, you have like five people behind you making you look good. So don’t believe the hype. This is all new for me.”

Instead of back-up dancers though, Brandy is relying on her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who she says really helps her to stay on track.

“He’s hot so that helps! What’s so crazy is that Maks was born on the same day as my brother [Ray J] . . . and I’m born on the same day as his mother. So I kind of feel like we were meant to be partners and I’m meant to do this show.”

President Barack Obama made history as the very first sitting U.S. President to personally appear on daytime television when he sat down and chatted with the ladies of ABC‘s “The View” this week. The pre-recorded interview, which aired on TV Thursday (Jul 29) touched on topics including his administration’s accomplishments jobs, the economy, the oil spill in the Gulf and family life inside the White House.

President Obama’s visit to The View was so important that Barbara Walters, who had taken time off to recover form heart surgery, even re-appeared to speak with the POTUS on the hit daytime show. But this isn’t Barack’s first time sitting on The View’s couch though. He appeared on the program 2 years ago when he was running for president, and 4 years prior to that, he was a featured guest when promoting his book “Dreams from My Father: A Story Race and Inheritance.”

Our favorite outspoken talk show host Whoopi Goldberg caught everyone off guard Monday (Jul 19) on “The View” when she revealed that she was still “hazy” from partying the night before in Vienna, Austria.

Whoopi had a serious case of the giggles as she hosted Monday’s episode of ABC‘s “The View” and said that it was because she was jet lagged and “drugged up” because she has a fear of flying and has to be put to sleep whenever she gets on an airplane.

Drake just can’t catch a break in NYC…

The Young Money rapper was scheduled to perform a free concert next month in New York City as a part of ABC‘S “Good Morning America” summer concert series. However, the show, scheduled to take place on July 16th, was nixed and the cast of Broadway’s “American Idiot” will take the Canadian rapper’s spot.

An ABC spokesperson did confirm that a Drake show was in the works but plans were never made a official. The network’s rep told MTV News:

“We were interested in having Drake perform, but he was never officially booked.”

A representative for the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation also told MTV News:

“There was an open date on the calendar for July 16, but they decided to feature the cast of the Broadway show ‘American Idiot.’”

Early reports indicate that the NYPD shut the concert down after it was determined that the parks department couldn’t provide adequate security. But the parks dept. spokesperson didn’t confirm whether security issues were behind the cancellation of the Drake show.

If this all sounds familiar, it should, because just last month (Tues. Jun 15) another free Drake concert in New York City was canceled when 10,000+ fans unexpectedly showed up at Ne York South’s Street Seaport where the show was to be held.

So far, it’s looking like Drake and free concerts just don’t mix.

R&B singer Alicia Keys (and her growing baby bump) hit the stage at Rumsey Playfield Central Park in New York City this morning (Fri. Jun 25) for a performance on ABC‘s “Good Morning America.”

In an interview Monday night on ABC News’ “Nightline”, the Kardashian girls let it all unravel in an exclusive 1-on-1 with reporter Cynthia McFadden. The sisters: Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney, along with their mother Kris Jenner, covered everything from their reality TV show “Keeping up with the Kardashians to Kim’s sex tape with singer/actor Ray J.

For quite some time now, the family has received much criticism and speculation from the tabloids and other media circuits about their “in the spotlight” lifestyles, but despite that, the K’s surprisingly still manage to keep up their mainstream appeal and flourishing business empires.

That crazy white lady from The View (Elisabeth Hasselbeck) has put her foot in her mouth. Hasselbeck is apologizing for offending “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Erin Andrews with comments she made on the show. She even cried a little.

On Tuesday, the football player’s wife commented on the convicted stalker who peeped at the sideline reporter through a hotel-room keyhole, filmed it and placed the clip on the Internet. In effect, the conservative Hasselbeck was making the point that Andrews’ revealing outfits on “Dancing With the Stars” could have saved the stalker the jail term because he would have seen nearly as much.

The point was deemed ill-advised by many, including Hasselbeck herself a few hours after the show’s taping. The former “Survivor” contestant said on Wednesday’s show that she left work feeling badly about the comments, and her 5-year-old daughter explained to her why she should apologize.

“She’s so cute; she said to me, ‘Mommy, why don’t you just call Erin and tell her you’re sorry?,’ ” Hasselbeck reported on “The View” Wednesday. “So, thankfully, I listened to her — she’s a wise little girl — and I did. So, I’m really sorry, and I wanted to offer that publicly too, even though I did follow that advice.”

For Andrews — who has waged a very public, very emotional battle against the stalker and additional threats — the comments of Hasselbeck were an insult. “[It's] a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators,” Andrews said after Tuesday’s “Dancing With the Stars” results show. “[As a] woman, I’m disappointed she went there.”

We all know that the ladies on ABC‘s hit morning show The View tend to make some off the wall comments, but this one definitely caught us off guard and surprised the crap out of us. The ladies were discussing the ongoing situation between actress Sandra Bullock and her cheating husband, Jesse James and Whoopi Goldberg took it upon herself to go against the opinions stated by her fellow show hosts and said that she had cheated a couple of times on her ex-husband:

“It’s nobody’s fault. Maybe he was looking for something different…

“Hey, listen, I did it five or six times … Yes, I screwed around. Yes, while I was married. I made those mistakes too, yeah. It happens sometimes. It happens,” Goldberg said. “Maybe he was trying to find something different too.”

Wow. We think that there are quite a few people who would agree with Whoopi, but we are more so shocked by the fact that Whoopi and her …umm, how do we put this…. “not-so-attractive” self was able to find someone who would pipe her down behind her husband’s back.

NFL star Chad Ochocinco of the Cincinnati Bengals will be a part of the line-up for the next installment of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” reports TMZ.

NFL star Chad Ochocinco is known for his prolific end zone dances — but now he’ll be dancing …. with the stars. Multiple sources tell TMZ the outspoken Cincinnati Bengal will be part of the cast of “Dancing with the Stars” this coming season.

An official announcement regarding the new season’s line-up will be announced tonight! Other football players who have danced on the popular show include Warren Sapp, Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice. And anyone who knows Ochocinco knows that he is funny as hell and has a great sense of humor, so this will definitely be must-see TV!

ABC aired Chris Brown‘s 20/20 interview with Robin Roberts last night (Dec 4) and Chris and Robin basically spent about 9:47 talking about the same thing we’ve heard about in the other 87 hundred interviews he’s done in the past couple of months… We believe the only difference between those interviews and this one is that this was conducted AFTER Rihanna’s big 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer so of course Robin and Chris watched snippets of it and talked about it.

One big thing that stood out for us though was when Chris and Robin got to the subject of his song “Changed Man,” (listen here) the young entertainer basically called his ex girlfriend a “liar” (even though he says he’s not calling her a liar…) for denying she heard the song, which leaked online shortly after he wrote it. Not only did she hear it, but according to Brown himself … she cried!

Brown, however, said Rihanna had in fact heard the song. Roberts looked puzzled by the singer’s answer, but he insisted that Rihanna heard the song. He then explained he personally played the song for her shortly after his assault on her, resulting in her being overcome with emotion. “She knows how sorry I am,” Brown said. “She’s heard the song. I played the song for her, the day I [wrote it]. Maybe a month after the situation. “She cried when she first heard the song,” he continued. “I’m not trying to call her a liar. But I played the song for her.”

ABC has canceled two more upcoming Adam Lambert performances likely because of all of the negative hype surrounding his performance at this year’s American Music Awards, televised live on ABC Sunday, November 22nd.

Lambert spread word of the cancellations Wednesday night (Dec. 2) via Twitter. “Yes, sadly friends, ABC has canceled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. :( don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat,” he wrote. The “American Idol” alum had been booked to perform on the late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Dec. 17 and was allegedly set to perform on the network’s annual “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special, which, like the AMAs, is helmed by Dick Clark Productions.

Alhough ABC has scrapped every appearance Lambert had booked on the network since the AMAs, other networks — including CBS and now NBC — continue to welcome him with open arms. “I AM doing Leno though,” the singer Tweeted, referring to his upcoming Dec. 21 performance on NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show.” “And lookin into something for NYE.”

The American Idol alum’s debut album For Your Entertainment debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album and it sold nearly 200,000 copies in its opening week.

Queen of Pop Janet Jackson will be the opening the 2009 American Music Awards with an 8-minute performance next Sunday (Nov. 22)  on ABC at 8PM. Janet has also recently shot a music video for her new single, “Make Me,” and probably has some choreography for the track which she most likely will be performing at the AMAs.
