“Drake and I, we love XXL,” she told us recently on the set of her video for “Massive Attack.” “We just shot for XXL. With all due respect, we felt like we kinda had graduated from the freshman class. We felt that XXL missed the mark when they didn’t put us on the cover prior to that. They have to pay for that. They can’t say, ‘Hey, get on the next one.’ But we love XXL. That’s like a hip-hop classic. So we said, ‘Can we have something just a little bit more catered to us, so that we feel like we have still grown as artists, so we’re not at all disrespecting the magazine?’ They were cool with that.

“We didn’t dictate, we just asked nicely,” Nicki smiled. “Technically, we were freshmen when they didn’t put us on,” Drake told ImFlashy.com in February. “I feel now it’s just returning the favor.”

Hip-hop newcomers OJ Da Juiceman, Nipsey Hussle, Jay Rock, Pill, Donnis, Fashawn, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifah, Freddie Gibbs and Big Sean are all a part of XXL’s Freshman ‘10 issue, which was released earlier this month.

Oprah Winfrey announced late last year that she was pulling the plug on her 25 year run daytime talk show, which will air its final episode sometime in 2011. Many audiences and viewers were shocked and sad to hear the news, and now they’ll be even more shocked to find that Rosie O’Donnell just might be taking her spot, as reported by E! News and ShowBizz 411.

Since her 2007 departure from “The View” Rosie has had a lot of commercial debuts on the small screen except a few guest spots on shows like “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Drop Dead Diva.” She joined the Sirius XM family last year when she premiered the daily Rosie Radio show, of which she hosts from a custom-built home studio in New York.

Bringing the Rosie O’ Donnell Show to daytime television isn’t exactly the absolute worst idea considering her history with her former hit talk-show “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” which won 25 Daytime Emmy Awards, including “Outstanding Talk Show” every year between 1998 and 2002. But will viewers of today find her brash and aggressive personality appealing for daytime television? Probably not, but we’ll see…

Lady Gaga is defending her highly controversial new video “Telephone.” The almost 10 minute short film has caused a stir both on and offline, and within 3 days of its premiere on Vevo.com, it has received over 20 million views! And even though most, if not all, of the media is making a mountain out of a mole hill over what they call “suggestive tones” in the clip, Lady Gaga is pleased about the outcome and believes it will have a lasting impact on her little monsters for years to come.

She says, “There are transsexual women and transgender women and suddenly it becomes poisonous and something else because there are some people in this world that believe being gay is a choice. It’s not a choice, we’re born this way. That’s why for me this video is groundbreaking because it has one foot in the art community and one foot in the commercial world.

“I told Beyonce this after it aired, you’ll see this video is not just great now but six months from now what this video will mean. Hearing people say the video is sadomasochistic or that the video promotes murder for young people, it’s my personal belief that the video is getting so much attention not because of those themes because I’ve done those themes before, haven’t I?

“There are no rules or limits when it comes to love. But I see love as separate from sex.”

People are really buying’s Beyonce’s new “Heat” perfume! Beyonce launched her new fragrance last month exclusively at Macy’s and apparently it’s been flying off the shelves as it has sold over $3 million in just one month. The perfume is so popular that 72,000 bottles alone were sold within one hour during an in-person appearance at an NYC store.

The fragrance is a mix of magnolia, neroli and blush peach scents and will run you about $40 – $60. Hit up Macys.com to purchase your very own bottle of Beyonce’s “Heat!”

Monica’s new album Still Standing hits stores this coming Tuesday (Mar 23) and to hold you over to the release, here’s a track from the album called “Mirror,” produced by Jim Jonsin. She told our friends over at Rap-Up.com that this was one of her “absolute favorite songs on the album.”

“I have to say one of my absolute favorite songs on the album is ‘Mirror,’” she revealed. “The reason that this song means so much to me, it’s about being comfortable with what you see when you look in the mirror, but it’s over a mid[tempo] beat that’s still very hip, very new, and very young.”

Wearing one of the looks from her new “Telephone” music video, pop singer Lady Gaga was spotted with diet coke cans rolled into her hair while she was arriving at Sydney International Airport in Australia early Wednesday morning (Mar 17).

Meanwhile, people were worried about Gaga earlier this week when video surfaced of her looking like she was 1 step away from passing out while performing the encore for one of her concerts. But her tour rep says everything’s good and she’s “totally fine.”

“[She is] totally fine. It was warm at the show, she was tired and bit dehydrated by the end of a two-hour-plus performance. She performed the second Auckland show the following night without an issue and will be back in full match fitness for her first Australian show.”

Jay-Z and Beyonce might have a pre-nup, but as far as anyone is concerned, it’s none of our business, just as we thought. And when we posted that interview from Neon Magazine we knew something wasn’t right.

The interview turned out to be entirely false, and was made up by the freelance editor who submitted it to the mag. When they came to the guy for verification and he couldn’t prove it, they released the following statement:

Singer Kelis showed her face at her disco ball friend Damon Peruzzi’s event, “The Real King of New York Party,” Sunday night (Mar 14) at Juliet Supper Club in New York City.

Earlier this week, the “Acapella” singer went off about an airline on her Twitter because they had lost her luggage and the woman behind the counter wasn’t providing much help.

“I am at airport, sans luggage, not happy. How is it that they ‘lose’ bags? Does that make any sense? Let me answer, no it absolutely does NOT… Oh did I mention I have a 9am call time, which would be fine if I wasn’t still here staring at this empty baggage conveyor belt. Not happy. The good news is, however that I don’t trust these airport scoundrels, so all the glorious treats I had made for video are nicely packed in my carry-on. Still not happy about this.

Dr. Drew Pinsky, from VH1’s Celebrity Rehab, asked the judge to let him treat the rapper on his show instead. DMX’s attorney says the rapper might be up for that, but nothing’s been confirmed just yet.

“He’s been battling addiction for some time and he’s in need of treatment. We’re hoping that maybe Dr. Drew might be able to help him,” says DMX’s attorney Gary Jenkins.

Kicking off her promotional tour for her new movie “Why Did I Get Married Too?”, singer/actress Janet Jackson appeared on NBC’s the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday night (Mar 18). In the 8 minute interview (split up in 2 parts), Janet talks to Leno about her life, her new book “True You” about why her weight goes up down and more. She also touched a bit on a past experience when she was asked to lose weight as a child on “Good Times.”

In the second clip, Ms. Jackson talks more about the new movie and how her brother passing affected the emotion she had in certain scenes in the new film. They also show a sneak preview of a scene in the Tyler Perry directed movie.

Meanwhile, we hear that her new single “Nothing,” produced by Jermaine Dupri, will be featured on the “Why Did I Get Married Too?” soundtrack as well as her upcoming album. The track, co-produced by Bryan-Michael Cox, will be available for purchase on iTunes March 30th. Speaking on the track, JD was quoted as saying: “You haven’t heard Janet sound like this in a long time and I think the song is perfect for the movie. It’s a really good record.”

Rapper T.I. will officially be a free man come next Friday (Mar 26), and his wife to be Tameka “Tiny” Cottle told VIBE that she and Tip will be getting married sometime this year.

“There are wedding plans coming soon, sometime this year,” said Tiny, adding that there’s no rush and that she wants it to be a small affair with about 200 guests. “Not too big ’cause I want it to be as private as possible. There’ve been a million rumors about us getting married. It’s taking away from the day that we really do get married so I just want to kind of have that moment for myself.”

Tiny also said she doesn’t bother with the chatter that the nuptials are taking too long. “I don’t really worry about what people say about what’s taking so long. Like, it ain’t none of your business what’s taking so long,” said Tiny of the engagement. “If we happy, why are you so concerned? We living, we’re happy, we’re in love. I mean, it’s no doubt in my mind that he doesn’t love every piece of me and vice versa so we’re just doing what’s comfortable and what works for us. Tiny and T.I.: Not for the world. Basketball legend Michael Jordan scored a major deal with the Charlotte Bobcats Thursday (Mar 18). The former NBA player was approved to purchase the Bobcats from Bob Johnson for $275 million, making him the first former player to own an NBA team in history! For those who followed this artist on YouTube last year, you will be glad to know that Esha is back! Born Aisha Meacham-Abdullah to Nigerian parents, Esha, 21, took a break last year from YouTube but is finally back and better than ever. Esha has always been around music; her mother came to America as a background singer for a Nigerian group. Esha’s parents recall her learning the song “Let’s Chill” by Guy at the age of 18 months, and by the age of 2, she was standing on her dad’s briefcase and singing. “I didn’t know singing was an actual talent until I was 7 years old. After that it was a wrap,” she told us.

Esha’s number one influence is Michael Jackson because he is mainly what she listened to growing up. Next are Beyonce and Bobby Ray. She has released a pretty damn good mixtape titled “Esha: The Remakes” which you can download here. It features “Bed” (one of her best covers), “Kiss Kiss”, “Like You’ll Never See Me Again”, and more. She has also managed to gain well over 4.9 million views on YouTube, a feat that’s worthy of some props. She has been in touch with many labels through her career and has been reached by music insiders who complement her on her covers. This is not the last we’ve heard of Esha.

Pop singer Ke$ha and 30H!3 hit the American Idol stage to perform “Blah Blah Blah” on Wednesday night’s (Mar 17) episode of the FOX show in Los Angeles. The performance included a lot of dancing around and Ke$ha sporting a Native American headdress.

But how does Ke$ha herself think the performance went?

“Well, I never really know, but I think it went pretty well from what I’ve heard from family members and friends and stuff,” she told MTV News via phone Thursday (March 18). ” … I think it came across like we were just having a good time onstage, like, just playing dress-up. And I was kind of making an ass of myself at the end, but whatever. I was having a good time. I hope it was infectious.”

Rihanna is taking the Billboard charts by storm once again, this time pushing label mate Taio Cruz to the side. Her newest single “Rude Boy” is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making this her fifth #1 as a solo artist.

“Rude” is Rihanna’s sixth Hot 100 No. 1 and fifth as a lead artist. Her most recent chart-topper had been as a featured vocalist on T.I.’s “Live Your Life” in 2008. Her other leaders are “SOS” (2006, three weeks), “Umbrella,” featuring Jay-Z (2007, seven weeks), “Take A Bow” (2008, 1 week) and “Disturbia” (2008, two weeks)

Since debuting on the scene in June 2005 with the No. 2-peaking “Pon De Replay,” Rihanna has posted more Hot 100 No. 1 than any other artist. Next in line is Justin Timberlake who has scored five chart-toppers during this span.

It’s crazy how except for one, every single one of our posts about rapper Waka Focka Flame involves him being shot … or going to jail, like this one. The Atlanta rapper is currently sitting in a prison in Texas as of yesterday (Wed. Mar 17) for violating his probation in Georgia. He was at the mercy of the courts for possessing a sawed-off shotgun, and he violated his probation by leaving the state. So now he’s like his big homie Gucci Mane. Locked up.

TMZ reports that Waka (real name: Juaquin James Malphurs) will be held without bail at the Houston County Jail, and won’t be able to see a judge until at least 3 – 4 weeks from now.

But hey! At least he got to film his music video for “O Let’s Do It” (Remix) with Diddy and Rick Ross Tuesday night (Mar 16) in Atlanta. Word is he went to jail right AFTER that. SMH…

It was announced yesterday that Michael Jackson’s estate signed a $250 million recording contract (with a guarantee of $200 million), making this the biggest deal in the history of music. The deal, made with Sony Music Entertainment, includes a contract for 10 projects to be released over a span of 7 years. The first album will debut in November. Sources say Jackson recorded enough material prior to his death for at least three albums of fresh never-before-heard songs.

A source tells TMZ the royalty rate on foreign sales is the key to the deal — and 2/3 of the sales of MJ records traditionally have been outside the U.S. And we’re told Sony gets a two-year extension for the right to distribute the Michael Jackson catalog — to 2017.

The deal has nothing to do with The Beatles’ catalog — it’s all about MJ original recordings. The agreement was brokered by John Branca and John McClain, executors of the MJ estate.

Wow! $250 million?! We tell you what: those kids (Prince, Paris and Blanket) are gonna be set for the rest of their lives…

Former CW sitcom “The Game” is almost ready to head back to TV! According to our friends over at AOL BV Buzz, BET and Paramount have struck a deal to develop new episodes for the popular half-hour comedy/drama series. All that’s left at this point is for the actors to get under contract.

“The deal is done between the two networks,” the source told BV Buzz. “Now it’s a matter of getting the actors under contract again.” When The CW canceled the show in May of last year, the contracts with the shows stars Tia Mowry, Pooch Hall, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Brittany Daniel and Coby Bell weren’t optioned and ultimately expired on June 30, 2009. Now BET has to negotiate new contracts with the actors, which is expected to be done within the next two weeks.

The Internet was swarming with rumors this week alleging that Rev. Run’s daughter Angela Simmons was messing around with both Bow Wow and Rob Kardashian. She was spotted hanging out with Bow last week at, and just this past weekend, she and Rob were spotted at Jet Nightclub in Vegas. Sources said she and the Kardashian boy “sat together the entire night.”

Now both Angela and Rob have both taken to their Twitters to deny the rumors in an effort to set the record straight and put it out there that they’re NOT dating.

That doesn’t rule out Bow Wow though…

Earlier this week, several media outlets reported a strong rumor that Usher’s ex wife Tameka Foster was seen in Jamaica over the weekend snooping on her other ex hubby Ryan as he was vacationing with his new fiance. Since then, she has decided to speak out against the rumors to attempt to set the record straight

“This story is ridiculous and completely false, as are the 1700 others that continue to be conjured up. Ryan and I are great friends and have been for 24 years, he is engaged to a lovely woman and I wish them all the best in life.”

Poor thing. There have been literally hundreds of stories/rumors floating around about this girl and she says all of them are false. Some of ‘em might be slightly off, but dizzam … all of ‘em can’t be 100% untrue. We know for a fact Tameka is missing a few screws, so… yeah. She probably did haul her azz down to Jamaica to play peeping tom on her ex-husband.

“The truth is Gabourey would like to lose some weight but the reality is that she would not have gotten the role of Precious if she had not been heavy,” Ridley said. “As her mom I would like to see my daughter healthy but if she didn’t lose weight that’s not a problem either – it runs in our family. I’m proud of my daughter no matter what and the truth is that there are all kinds of acting roles for all sorts of people.”

There were also rumors surfacing that Gabby was approached about appearing on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club and here’s what her mother had to say about this rumor:

“I have not heard anything about her appearing on Celebrity Fit Club or any of these dieting companies getting Gabby to try and endorse their products.

It’s always nice to the momma’s coming to their babies’ defense! Get ‘em Alice!

Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj revealed that she wants to right for Beyonce! Now that she’s worked with Usher, Mariah Carey, Ludacris and more, she’s ready to work with the Queen.

“I think I can come up with some crazy, crazy stuff for Beyonce,” Nicki offered. ”I have things that I write for girls, like R&B singers and you know, Beyonce, she’s fearless. I think she can embody my crazy swag in a female R&B world.”

We can’t even imagine the type of things Nicki would have Beyonce saying in a song. This could turn out either really bad… or really good.

Wow, Lil Wayne has the worst luck. The rapper was scheduled to attend a court date in Arizona today, but there’s only one thing preventing him from making this appearance… he’s currently in a New York City prison serving his 1 year sentence. But despite that, Yuma County, AZ do about this? They went ahead and issued a bench warrant for his arrest even though they knew Weezy was behind bars. How childish.

According to TMZ, Wayne pled not guilty in the past to a litany of drug charges related to a January 2008 arrest, where DEA agents found 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy pills and a 40-caliber pistol on his tour bus.

So does this mean Wayne’s gonna get MORE time tacked on when he gets out in 8 – 12 months?

We have all heard about all of the kitty-cat NBA players get while playing in the league, but it’s truly amazing to hear about NBA greats like Wilt Chamberlain claiming that they slept with 20,000 women. Now, another former NBA player, Winston Bennett, is claiming that he slept with 90 women per month. But where did he find these women?

“Malls, restaurants — let’s not forget — prostitutes, massage parlors.” He spent a chunk of his time occupied with sex. “I spent a great deal of time either having sex, cruising for sex, calling for sex, looking for sex,”

90 women a month?? That’s an average of 3 different women per day… That’s crazy! Dude even said he didn’t use condoms most of the time, and the majority of those women were prostitutes. Wow…

This sounds a little suspect, but supposedly Beyonce spoke to some foreign magazine and spilled the beans on the financial arrangement behind her marriage with Jay-Z:

The R&B superstar, who has been married to the hip-hop mogul since 2008, recently revealed in an interview that she approves of contracts between couples and encourages all women to consider them. Speaking to Neon about life being easier as a millionaire, the 28-year-old said: “The fear of the student, have no future, being dependent on her boyfriend, objectively weigh heavier than the fears that torment me. “Only music from subjective feeling arises – and subjective fears, many musicians have lost. We feel pain and depression, just like other people. What separates us, is perhaps the price of butter. But all that is essential, I feel like every hard working woman.”

Beyoncé continued: “For example, I believe that in my relationship with Jay-Z – as in any genuine relationship – not everything is easy. I want children – not now, later. He’s entirely not aware of that fact yet. I want to sit around at home, also times in a tracksuit pants. He assumes and believes that women even wear high heels just to go to the bathroom.”

As for an alleged $10 million (£7m) minimum two year marriage contract, she added: “Anyone who thinks so, because of what? I do not deny that there is a marriage contract. I would encourage any woman getting married to put on such a treaty, it will gain more influence on self-esteem. For details, I don’t express myself. I am not here on trial.”

Huh? This definitely sounds like some stuff was chopped and screwed during this translation…

Check out this dope graphic a fan made of Lady Gaga and Beyonce, following the premiere of their big “Telephone” music video last week. The picture made its way around the Internet over the weekend and was even spotted by Lady Gaga herself who tweeted this:

“I think the Pop Universe just imploded. Completely brilliant. Whoever made this: BRAVO.”

Meanwhile, MTV is refuting reports stating that their network had “banned” the racy video because they had deemed it inappropriate. The network premiered the video Friday and fans can view it both on-air and online via the MTV.com website. Peep MTV’s statement below…

“MTV did not ban Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s ‘Telephone’ video — in fact, we premiered it on Friday, March 12, on-air and online at MTV.com, two days before this story was falsely reported,” said MTV Executive Vice President of Music and Talent Amy Doyle. “Fans can continue to catch the video as we repeat it on-air and online.”

Tiger Woods announced today that he will be returning to the game of golf, following a 4-month personal hiatus from the sport that made him a billionaire. The pro-golfer released a statement confirming that he will indeed be returning for an upcoming Masters tournament. Peep his statement below:

“After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I’m ready to start my season at Augusta. The major championships have always been a special focus in my career and, as a professional, I think Augusta is where I need to be, even though it’s been a while since I last played.

“I have undergone almost two months of inpatient therapy and I am continuing my treatment. Although I’m returning to competition, I still have a lot of work to do in my personal life. When I finally got into a position to think about competitive golf again, it became apparent to me that the Masters would be the earliest I could play. The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect.”

This will be Tiger’s first game since that “incident” last Thanksgiving. He spoke briefly of his possible return last month when he did that public press release apology, but never mentioned exactly when. But now it seems like he’s ready to put all of the negative things that happened in ‘09 behind him, and start fresh in the new decade. Reports say he and his wife Elin were spotted walking around their Isleworth gated community in Windermere, FL last Saturday (Mar 13).
