X-Factor Season 3 winner Leona Lewis was attacked by an unidentied young man at a book signing meet and greet session for her new book “Dreams” at Waterstone’s booksellers in Piccadilly earlier today (Oct 14)! Her publicist, Stuart Bell, released a statement shortly after confirming the incident:

“Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack. The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologizes to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings.”

Lewis was posing for pictures and signing autographs Wednesday when a 29-year-old man came up and hit her. Security immediately reacted, escorted Leona to safety and arrested the jerk on the spot.

She was taken to see a doctor just to be on the safe side and can be seen in the picture above (L) leaving the signing in a shocked/shaken state. London’s Metropolitan police say the man was arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently being held in their custody.

Situation: What would you do if you wrote a book that was over 96 pages long and before it hit shelves, you spent many sleepless nights hunched over a keyboard typing your thoughts down only for it to be paraphrased into a blog post 2 years later by an old washed up soon to be ex-wife of an R&B star? Just ask Aisha Curry, the author of “She’s Pretty for a Black Girl.” Notice how the title of Maneka’s blog entry and Curry’s author are strikingly similar?

“My heart sank into my stomach. All the hard work, all the sleepless nights I had endured was playing back in my head as I read this article written by a woman I didn’t even know,” Curry told BV Buzz. “Why did I feel so connected to this article? Suddenly, it came to me. It was my work! It was my work, my voice, but in her words. I was frozen. Tears began rolling down my face as I read line after line after line. I couldn’t believe it. The idea that someone could gain notoriety from an issue that I first brought to the forefront is mindboggling. People were praising her for tackling an issue that had never been exposed. Hello?!? I wrote the book on it and started it years ago. The only difference between her article and my book is she used ‘dark-skinned’ and I used ‘Black.’”

Curry said she began writing ‘Pretty For a Black Girl’ in 2007 after receiving compliments about her beauty, only to have them followed up with a reference to her ethnicity.

“One day about five years ago, I was absolutely tired of being told that I was pretty for a black girl,” she explained. “I started asking my friends if they had heard this statement before, and as time went on, I realized how prevalent the issue was.”

This is getting out of control! Reports are stating that pieces of Michael Jackson’s burned hair from the unfortunate Pepsi commercial shoot will be turned into diamonds. LifeGem, a Chicago-based jeweler, specializes in turning hair samples to high-quality diamonds and they have released plans to create a collection from Jackson’s hair.

“Our plan is to give people an opportunity to own a diamond made from Michael Jackson’s DNA,” said Dean VandenBiesen, founder of LifeGem, in a statement.

The hair was first obtained by executive producer Ralph Cohen during the now-infamous 1984 Pepsi shoot for Pepsi when Jackson’s hair caught on fire. After helping extinguish Jackson’s hair with his Armani jacket, Cohen scooped up the hair and put it into the jacket’s pocket, where it remained until Jackson’s death 25 years later.

According to TMZ, a lawsuit was officially filed Thursday (Jul 9) and it states that Red City gave Lil Wayne an advance worth $210,000. The rest of the money paid for his hotel expenses and various costs involved throwing the concert, which obviously didn’t go as planned.

27-year-old William Balfour was officially arrested this past Monday and charged with the murders of Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson, and Julian King; Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and young nephew, respectively. But now his lawyer is saying the only reason he’s being charged is because he’s the only suspect the police have at this point

“The delay between the crimes and his actual arrest show weaknesses in the case,” attorney Joshua Kutnick tells People.com. “This case is not a strong case against William. He is a convenient suspect.”

Well, even if he is innocent, the fact that he’s not really cooperating with the police, and hasn’t throughout the case’s investigation, doesn’t make him seem so. But we reallly think he did it. And so does everyone else.

According to TMZ, Chris Brown and Rihanna are looking at a $1 million lawsuit from a Florida photographer who claims that he was beat and robbed for taking a picture of the couple without their permission back in May of this year.

Luis Santana just filed a $1 million lawsuit in Florida — claiming his $3,000 camera was stolen from him after being form-tackled outside Brown’s 19th birthday party at the Vintage Ultra Lounge in St. Petersburg. Luis says bodyguards for RiRi, Brown and the Lounge attacked him for taking a photo of the couple through their open limo window, according to The St. Petersburg Times. The reason Santana’s suing for such a large amount — he says the photo would have made a killing since the two lovebirds weren’t officially dating, and it showed them together.

So he’s basically trying to get paid because he didn’t get paid the first time. Is that legal?

No, that’s not a typo … we really mean FIGHTS! With an “s.” If you didn’t know what the “Dirty Awards” were before today, then you damn sure know what they are now! The 2008 Dirty Awards, hosted by Radio One, went down last night in Atlanta at the Georgia International Congress Center. The show, hosted by rapper David Banner, went on without a hitch … that is, until Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo hit the stage. After Shawty Lo performed “Dey Know,” the one song everybody knows him for, he proceeded to poke fun of T.I.’s Grand Hustle crew with his own version of “Ain’t I,” a song by Grand Hustle artist Yung LA. Shawty Lo called his version “Don’t I.” While we don’t know the specifics of all of the details, we do know someone from Grand Hustle (eyewitnesses say it was Alfamega) got heated and threw a chair on the stage, and it all went downhill from there. Authorities broke up the fight, and the show continued.

Taco Bell shot down the rapper’s lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court, claiming they are protected by the First Amendment. The lawsuit calls the rapper a “self-described former drug dealer and hustler” who is “arrogant.”

“Jackson has used his colorful past to cultivate a public image of belligerence and arrogance and has a well-publicized track record of making threats, starting feuds and filing lawsuits,” Taco Bell lawyer Robert Lehrburger wrote in the lawsuit. “At the same time, Jackson holds himself out as a giver to charity and one who wants to give back to his community. This lawsuit is another of Jackson’s attempts to burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond all recognition a bona fide, good faith offer that Taco Bell made to Jackson.”

50 Cent’s lawyer shot down the lawsuit in a statement to The New York Daily News. “It makes me wonder why they would decide to use his name in their ad campaign if they think he’s such a bad character,” Raymond told The Daily News.

Death Row co-founder Suge Knight is apparently suing our boy Kanye West! According to our friends over at TMZ, Marion (Suge’s government name) is suing Kanye over a diamond earring he lost at a party hosted by the “Love Lockdown” singer about 3 years ago. The broke mogul is alleging Yeezy allowed someone to sneak a gun past security at a pre-MTV VMA party at The Shore Club in Miami about 3 years ago, where a still unknown person shot old Suge in the right leg, shattering it.

Suge filed a lawsuit earlier today in a Los Angeles court claiming that he lost his 15-carat $135,000 diamond stud earring inside the club during the shooting incident. And guess who he’s placing the blame on? Let me give you a hint. Not himself! But that’s not all, the story gets even more ridiculous. In addition to medical bills, and the cost of the earring, Suge Knight claims he was injured so badly that he had to take a PRIVATE jet back to Miami, because first class on a commercial airline would have just been too much for his poor heart.

So now Suge, who coincidentally recently filed for bankruptcy, wants to be reimbursed for the earring, the medical bills, and the cost of the private jet. But our question is since when does Suge Knight sue people? I thought he was one of those “shoot first, ask questions later” type of people. Has he found Jesus?

A guy from Michigan who was busted in Connecticut for reckless driving told police a rather interesting story as to why he was driving so erratically. With flowers and a teddy bear in the car, he said he had arranged a meeting with Beyonce at the George Washington bridge in New York City.

33-year-old Robert Williams Jr., from Michigan, was taken into custody in Milford, Connecticut on Sunday after almost side swiping a cop car. But get this! After almost running into the police vehicle, the idiot stopped to ask the cops for directions and when he pulled off, narrowly missed the cop car and drove over a sidewalk.

In addition to other traffic offenses, the man was charged with reckless driving and speeding, and was taken to a hospital for mental evaluation.

We couldn’t make this sh*t up if we tried… But is he sure he was going to meet Beyonce? Maybe Sasha Fierce was the one who made the date! The police shouldn’t jump to the conclusions and all, saying the man’s crazy.

Reports are saying that DMX was admitted to a Miami hospital yesterday for “fear of stroke,” but the coke head’s lawyer wouldn’t confirm whether or not those reports are factual.

Rapper DMX was admitted to an Aventura, Fla., hospital yesterday (Sept. 22), according to his laywer Bradford Cohen, a day before he was scheduled to appear in an Arizona court. While Bradford wouldn’t confirm media reports alleging his admittance was due to “fear of stroke,” he did say, “It was serious enough at the time but ultimately he should be OK.”

“It was serious enough for him to be brought and taken into a treatment facility. He spent the night there last night and he will probably spend tonight there as well,” Cohen told Billboard.biz. “I don’t think it’s going to be an ongoing thing or a life-threatening situation. He’s going to be alright.”

Convicted actor Wesley Snipes has been granted permission by a judge to leave the country and spend three days in London to complete post-production on one movie, and spend eight weeks in Thailand to film another. The actor’s lawyers are currently in the process of appealing his February 2008 conviction of three counts of willfully failing to file his income taxes.

Back in late June, Snipes filed a request in federal court for permission to leave the country. His lawyers’ claim was that him not being able to do those movies would jeopardize his “future livelihood as an actor,” which in turn, would make it hard for him to pay Uncle Sam back.

Oh, okay, I get it! They’ll allow him to leave the country as a convicted felon just so that he can pay the government back. Makes perfect sense. As long as they can get theirs I guess. If this ain’t special treatment, I don’t know what is.

“Mr. Snipes will, of course, voluntarily return after his work on this film—as he has done each time he has been granted permission by this court,” defense attorney Daniel Meachum wrote in Wednesday’s filing, which was obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.

Are they forgetting about the time he got ghost back in 2006 and the IRS couldn’t find him? I don’t see this whole situation ending too nicely. Unless he’s being watched 24/7 by some big ass security guards, after all’s said and done, this negro’s gonna be harder to find than Osama Bin Laden.

In recent comments, Ice-T stated that, “Soulja Boy killed Hip-Hop” and he told him to “eat a d*ck.” If you think about it, Soulja Boy is only 17 years old! Mitchell Rose, a former boxer, is suing rapper Jay-Z for close to $90 million. Why? Because Rose claims Jay-Z stole his style of rapping. It all started back in 2001, when Rose slipped Jay a demo with all of his rhymes after a boxing match. And now the former heavyweight boxer is alleging that Jay-Z is using his style of delivery and a form of “whispering” over his tracks.

“He took the style and delivery. He is on the regular, now Lil’ Kim is using it. All I want is justice. Jay-Z knows what I’m talking about,” says Rose. “He took the demo with him and shortly after that he began using the whispering, which he now frequents, in his songs.

“I had previously trained some of my artists to use that style, but it quickly became obsolete after Jay-Z got a hold of it,” Rose claimed. “He [Jay-Z] used the whispering to enhance his music and financially benefit from it. Jay-Z disregarded the fact that it was my demo where he got the style from as he went on to use it for his own personal gains, which is wrong.”

I’m no legal expert or anything, but since when can you sue someone over a “style?” I could see if he stole a beat, or some lyrics, or something to that nature. But a style? You can’t even copywrite a damn style! GTFOH! I doubt Jay-Z even listened to that demo lol…

Singer R. Kelly has been found not guilty on all 14 counts of cf child pornography. The verdict comes six years after the R&B superstar was first charged with videotaping himself having sex with a young girl.

A Cook County jury on Friday acquitted R&B superstar R. Kelly of child pornography charges, marking the end of a high-profile trial rich in courtroom drama and celebrity intrigue.

The 41-year-old singer, whose real name is Robert Kelly, long denied charges that he videotaped himself engaging in a variety of sex acts with his then-underage goddaughter. Authorities said the female in the video could have been as young as 13 at the time.

The jury of nine men and three women deliberated for 7 ½ hours before finding Kelly not guilty on all 14 counts.

The verdict ends a bizarre case that had languished for nearly six years. During almost four weeks of testimony, the jury heard about three-person sexual encounters and watched a sex tape in which the male participant is seen urinating on a female.

Who featuring who and who? Lol, exactly. I tried my damnedest to avoid this video, but I finally decided to sit down and watch it. I saw it posted on several of my favorite blogs, and RODOL’d from the comments, but I never took the time to peep the vid for myself.

Above all, I must say, the editing of the video is pretty damn good! Much better than some of these “official videos” from “official artists” funded by “official labels.” The lyrics are funny as hell too! This is obviously not safe for work… Homegirl with the doo-doo braids singing on stage had me ROLLING! She just looks like she’s really into singing the hook. Foster was “domineering” and displayed her trademark “Tameka wrath” during a video shoot for Usher’s new song, “Love in the Club,” the weekend of March 15 in LA. Our on-set source said Foster was upset when she found out stunning singer/songwriter Keri Hilson was personally picked by Usher to play his love interest in the video.

“It was supposed to be a sexy video shoot,” our spy said. “And Tameka was there the entire time guarding like a watchdog. It was ridiculous – she knows Keri and knows she’s no video ho or Karrine Steffans.” Steffans, nicknamed “Superhead,” wrote the book, “Video Vixen,” about her alleged flings with Usher and several other artists.

“Tameka is very insecure,” our source said. “Even in rehearsals she was weird and clearly not happy that Keri is so gorgeous. Tameka threw a lot of attitude. The day of the shoot, Tameka dressed Keri very badly – she looked like an extra. Tameka wouldn’t let Keri have her hairdresser there – she had to use the hairdresser who was doing the extras.”

Foster also took a dislike to Usher’s longtime choreographer, Jamaica, and banned her from the set. When Usher and Foster were spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel last week, “They barely said one word to each other,” we’re told.

Apparently Paris Hilton thought she was cool, and took the “shout-out” as him telling her to come on stage and dance with him, and 50 Cent just wasn’t having it. According to Page Six, the gutter coochie socialite started dancing close to the stage, and actually got on stage with fifty, who in turn told her to “Get the fuck off the stage!” Onlookers tell the popular gossip column that the outburst from Curtis made Paris break down in tears, which was captured on film by photographers at the event. I’m starting to think Mr. Jackson doesn’t take too kindly to white girls. Didn’t he push one of the girls on America’s Next Top Model into a pool at a party?

And here we thought steroids were just for athletes! Some of music’s biggest names like Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Timbaland and Wyclef Jean came up in connection with an Albany, New York based steroid investigation, The Times Union of Albany reported. They even named playwright/director Tyler Perry!

Citing unidentified sources, the report alleged that the above-mentioned music stars, along with award-winning author and producer Tyler Perry, may have received or used performance-enhancing drugs. Grammy-winning singer Blige blasted the report when reached for comment by the New York Daily News. “Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids,” the singer’s spokeswoman Karynne Tencer told the News. Ken Sunshine, a spokesman for Perry, declined to comment to the Associated Press.

Law-enforcement officials have said evidence does not indicate the celebrities broke the law. For now, at least, officials are focusing on the doctors, pharmacists and clinics providing the drugs. Albany District Attorney David Soares launched his investigation into steroid trafficking last year. Soares has declined to comment on or confirm the identities of the stars who came up in the probe. His multistate investigation has focused on Signature Pharmacy of Orlando, Fla. So far, 10 defendants have pleaded guilty and some professional athletes have been linked to the probe in news reports.

Records shared with the Times Union and information from several cooperating witnesses on Long Island indicate the celebrities received prescribed human growth hormone or steroids. In some cases, aliases were used for their delivery. Former Sen. George Mitchell released his report last month on performance-enhancing drugs in baseball. Hearings are set to begin this month in Congress on the Mitchell report.

It baffles me how these prominent black leaders (Bob Johnson, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the list goes on) are supporting a white woman over a black man. Not that Hillary isn’t a great candidate or anything, but c’mon! This is our chance to get someone of color into the White House, and he actually has a chance AND the credentials! Unlike when Al or Jesse ran. Maybe that’s why they’re a little bitter. But hey, at least we have Oprah. She has her head on straight. These other fools? Eff them!

Damon Dash, former Roc-a-fella CEO, is in hot water for allegedly exposing himself to an Atlanta woman, and requesting that she perform oral sex on him. Dame met the woman, Jamie Roberts, and introduced himself as “Jeremy McIntire” at a party in 2004 in Miami. Dash insists he has never even met his 24-year-old accuser.

“It’s quite obvious that this is a false allegation,” Dash said in a statement. “We know nothing about it.”

A complaint filed in Manhattan Supreme Court says the encounter left the woman – who admits to suffering from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder – hearing Dash’s voice in her ear “giving her certain instructions to follow.” Roberts alleges she met someone introducing himself as “Jeremy McIntyre” at a Miami nightclub in March 2004, and agreed to rendezvous with him later at a marina near the club.

Roberts, who declined comment, also claims she never had a clue who Dash was until she spotted him on “Chappelle’s Show.” She is seeking $30,000 in damages. Dash was sued by an ex-model who accused him of a 2003 sexual assault in Brazil, and has had a long-running court battle with the mother of one of his children. [ NY DAILY NEWS ]

(or should I say T.I.P.) punched Chaka Zulu, who ironically is Ludacris’ Manager, at a charity event hosted by Kevin Liles yesterday that was held at the Sunset Tower Hotel Pool in Hollywood. The appropriately titled “Make It Happen” luncheon, geared towards movers and shakers in the music industry, was attended by Yung Joc, Musiq, Twista, Brandy, actor Omar Epps and guest of honor, actress Holly Robinson Peete. Apparantly T.I. was drunk and being loud when Chaka tried to get him to quiet down, according to an anonymous witness. Yeah, they made it happen alright!

“Out of nowhere, T.I. sucker-punched [Zulu] in the face with all his might. It didn’t seem to affect Chaka ’cause he commenced to throwing T.I. around the room like he was a rag doll. He could have beat T.I. senseless, but he didn’t.”

You don’t need to have a PhD to know that T.I. and his goons left after the scrap. This incident is the latest addition to a history of conflict between Ludacris and T.I. The two have often battled it out publicly, in their music videos and in the press, though their relationship seemed to have thawed recently. Looks like they put it back in the freezer ’cause it’s on again! Y’all please pray that these idiots don’t act a fool at the BET Awards tomorrow. Oh lawd, Kim Kardashian seems to think she can take on Whitney Houston! Ho sit down! According to Post Chronicle Kardashian left “fiery messages on ex-boyfriend Ray J’s voicemail about his new love Whitney Houston.” Unfortunately for Kim, a hacker has gotten ahold of the voicemails and her rants have been sampled into a controversial new R&B song that has yet to be released. I wanna hear this!! She must not know ’bout Whitney. I know she saw her on “Being Bobby Brown.” Ray J explained the situation by saying, “There’s this 1-800 number, where you can check people’s messages through this spy company. I guess somebody did that. Then they put a soundtrack to the sh!t … and now it’s going to be Kim dissing Whitney, Kim talking sh*t to me about the b*tches I’ve f*cked.” Watch that mouth young man!
