In other Whitney news, rumors are beginning to swirl saying that the R&B diva will be appearing on The Oprah Show for an in-depth interview. Currently, Oprah’s official site is advertising for Whitney’s biggest fan to tell her their story. This will most likely lead up to an interview and performance from the legend on the show once promotion for the album officially begins.

It look as though Vibe Magazine is going to be making a big comeback in online form, All Hip Hop reports. According to the immensely popular hip-hop site, one of the biggest hip-hop/R&B magazine’s to ever exist has been purchased by a New York City based private equity investment firm known as InterMedia Partners.

Vibe was founded by music legend Quincy Jones and media giant Time Warner back in the early 1990s, but they failed to keep up with the changing market when they were purchased by Wicks Group of Companies, which ultimately caused them to announce their sudden closure back in June 2009. But since the Vibe brand is so strong, Intermedia Partners and its portfolio company Uptown Media Group hope that a carefully strategized re-launch will bring the magazine back on top.

“Vibe is the preeminent brand in R&B and Hip-Hop. We feel privileged to purchase and resurrect such a storied brand,” explained David Koff, a Senior Partner at InterMedia Partners. “Together with the re-launch of Soul Train this fall and the rapid expansion of Uptown Magazine, a reinvigorated Vibe enables us to serve a broad spectrum of the African American audience with high quality entertainment and information.”

A spokesperson for Jay-Z has confirmed that the rapper is planning to pen an autobiography. The book will reveal the star’s rapping secrets, his days as a drug dealer on the street, and probably most important to the media, his wedding and marriage to Beyonce. Though the secretive pair made a pact not to speak publicly about their relationship, the rapper will finally open up about his life with Beyonce and offer an inside look into how the pair came to be.

We will definitely be looking for the parts about the marriage in the book! Beyonce and Jay-Z are probably one of the oddest pairs in Hollywood yet somehow, they work perfectly together and even dated longer than some celeb couples are married. So we’ve all basically grew to love them as a couple. And we’re betting Beyonce will be the first person to read and approve what he writes before it goes out. You know, just to make sure Jay doesn’t reveal TOO much info. We all know how private she is..

Since first starring in the MTV movie Carmen, Beyonce has began to sell herself not only as a singer but as an actress. Now, she wants to take on Whoopi Goldberg’s old role and play a nun in the next possible film adaptation of Sister Act. Beyonce took a break from her “I Am…” tour to watch the show at the London Palladium theater recently and she is so desperate to star in a film remake that she is begging Disney bosses to pick up the project.

On Friday, November 28th 2009, 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour was working the door during a Valley Stream, NY Wal-Mart’s “Black Friday” sale even and was trampled to death after urging customers broke the door down. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital an hour later.

Some workers who saw what was happening fought their way through the surge to get to Mr. Damour, but he had been fatally injured, the police said. Emergency workers tried to revive Mr. Damour, a temporary worker hired for the holiday season, at the scene, but he was pronounced dead an hour later at Franklin Hospital Medical Center in Valley Stream. Some shoppers who had seen the stampede said they were shocked. One of them, Kimberly Cribbs of Queens, said the crowd had acted like “savages.” Shoppers behaved badly even as the store was being cleared, she recalled.

“When they were saying they had to leave, that an employee got killed, people were yelling, ‘I’ve been on line since yesterday morning,’ ” Ms. Cribbs told The Associated Press. “They kept shopping.”

Wal-Mart security officials and the police cleared the store, swept up the shattered glass and locked the doors until 1 p.m., when it reopened to a steady stream of calmer shoppers who passed through the missing doors and battered door jambs, apparently unaware that anything had happened.

Flint police officers attempt to “crack down” on sagging pants by enforcing a dress code that requires all residents to wear their pants specifically at their waistline. Now, Chief Administrator of Flint’s PD, David Dicks believes pants sagging to be a “national nuisance,” he tells the Free Press. Dicks also thinks pants-sagging is “indecent exposure” and “disorderly conduct”; he wants to put an end to it once and for all. From now on, if you are caught violating this law, you will be subject to 93 days to a year in jail and/or $500 in fine payments.

In my opinion, I think this is both time wasting and unnecessary. Surely there must be greater and more important laws to enforce? To dictate how a person should wear their clothes inside their community, other than in a corporate setting, is an unjust and class-less law at best. Unless Flint PD plans on administrating belts, as ludicrous as that sounds, I do not see the saggy-pants thing going away anytime soon. To say pants-sagging is indecent and disorderly, that is your personal opinion, but it is not not right to speak for everyone as a consensus. And do not stuff your fundamental views or values down the throats of people who were raised differently than you or are in a completely different generation. If pants-sagging is not hurting anyone it is not disorderly; if pants-sagging is not suggesting anything lewd/sexual it is not indecent. I think that this is a perfect example of innocent citizens of these United States getting their rights stripped of them; this country is slowly but surely becoming a harsh dictatorship. Pretty soon there is going to more frivolous laws stating how you should look, dress, and appeal to standards. Oh, wait, there are laws like that already!

This weekend Joshua Packwood will officially be the first white valedictorian to graduate from the historically black, all male Morehouse College in the school’s 141-year history.

Joshua grew up in a poor area of Missouri, where he says he found himself gravitating to the black community at a young age.His mother’s second marriage to a black man ended in divorce which forced him to seek refuge with his best friend’s family – who were black and middle-class. It was the experience of living with his best friend’s family Joshua says, helped him see a “different side of black America.”

The verdict prompted calls for calm from the mayor, angry promises of protests by those speaking for the Bell family and expressions of relief by the detectives. Detective Michael Oliver, who fired 31 bullets the night of the shooting and faced manslaughter charges, said Justice Arthur J. Cooperman had made a “fair and just decision.”

Justice Cooperman delivered the verdict in State Supreme Court at 9 a.m. Describing the evidence, he said it was reasonable for the detectives to fear that someone in the crowd that night carried a gun. He added that many of the prosecution’s witnesses, including Mr. Bell’s friends and the two wounded victims, were simply not believable. “At times, the testimony of those witnesses just didn’t make sense,” the judge said. Several supporters of Mr. Bell stormed out of the courtroom, and a few small scuffles followed outside the courthouse. By midafternoon, there were no suggestions of any broader unrest around the city. Mr. Bell’s family and fiancée left without making any comments and drove to visit his grave at the Nassau Knolls Cemetery and Memorial Park in Port Washington.

I’m sure you’ve all caught wind to this story of a 14-year-old high school student who brought guns to school after being suspended and shot rounds in the hallways directing his anger towards specific students and teachers. Check out the developing story from CNN below…

It was only after a crowd of screaming students ran past Darnell Rodgers in a stairway at his Cleveland, Ohio, high school Wednesday afternoon that he realized he had been shot. “They were screaming, ‘Oh my God! Oh my God,’” said Rodgers, a senior at SuccessTech Academy near downtown Cleveland. Rodgers suddenly felt his arm “burning,” he said, and realized he had been shot in the elbow. Police have started to piece together what happened. At around 1:15 p.m. ET, 14-year-old gunman Asa Coon, who was a student at the school, walked the halls firing a gun in each hand, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath said. When it was all over, five people had been shot, but the only fatality was Coon, who police said killed himself in a classroom. Police found a .22- caliber revolver and .38-caliber revolver near Coon’s body, along with a box of ammunition and three knives, said McGrath. Investigators have reason to believe some victims were specifically targeted by Coon, who had been suspended from school Monday.

“We do not believe this was a random shooting,” McGrath said. “It may have been the teachers he went to the school looking for. … I believe they disciplined him in some manner.” Rodgers was treated and released from the hospital, but others were more seriously injured. Coon shot 57-year-old teacher David Kachadourian in the back and shot a 42-year-old teacher in the chest, officials said. Edward Eckart, commissioner of EMS Cleveland, said the 42-year-old underwent surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center and was in stable condition at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Fifty-seven-year-old Kachadourian was in stable condition, he said. In addition, a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his side and a 15-year-old female with a knee injury were transported to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where they were in stable condition Wednesday night, Eckart said. McGrath said Coon and another student were suspended Monday after they apparently got in a fight outside the school.

Another woman complained she feared Prince’s performance would turn her son gay. The pop superstar made headlines for a naughty guitar pose he made behind a huge sheet towards the end of his 15-minute performance.

Yeah, and seeing his guitar make the shape of a penis made me do some “naughty” things of my own, including, but not limited to,  touching myself and slapping my ass .. twice… Damn you Prince! Joking people … of course.
