Funnyman Will Ferrell is back with his co-stars Steve Carell, David Koechner and Paul Rudd in the highly anticipated sequel for “Anchorman!”

The hilarious cast will once again grace our screens as the anchormen of San Diego’s Channel 4 News in “Anchorman 2.”

The international teaser premiered last week where you see Ferrell in character asking “Hey, America. Did you miss my hot breath in your ear?”

He adds “Look, it’s gonna be a fun movie. It’s time to do it again but this time I’m on top.”

The comedy is set to hit theaters sometime in 2013!

“Hulk, Smash!” is what Captain America tells the Incredible Hulk to to in “The Avengers” … and the Marvel Comics superhero movie did its own smashing this weekend! When it comes to box office records, that is.

According to weekend numbers, “The Avengers” broke U.S. box office records with a $200.3 million debut, shooting past the previous record of $169.2 million for last year’s “Harry Potter” finale, and making it the biggest debut … EVER!

The film, featuring several popular Marvel comic book characters — including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and others — opened internationally nearly two weeks ago, and has so far made $441.5 million, including this weekend’s numbers, bringing the worldwide total to close to $642 million … which is a lot more than what its Marvel superhero forerunners “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America” took in during their entire theater runs.

Directed by Joss Whedon, “The Avengers” stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Did you see “The Avengers” this weekend?

After much speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Andre 3000 will take on the role of rock legend Jimi Hendrix in an upcoming biopic titled “All Is By My Side.”

According to IFTN, the movie will cover the time Hendrix spent in England preparing his debut album; and filming — which will take at least six weeks — for the film begins next month in Ireland.

IFTN understands that ‘All Is By My Side’ will document Hendrix’s period in England over 1966 and 1967 as he formulated his debut album and some of the greatest guitar music ever created. The feature film will be written and directed by John Ridley, who is best known as the writer of ‘Three Kings’ and ‘U-Turn’.

The project is currently in pre-production in Wicklow, with principal photography set to begin in three weeks time in Dublin and Wicklow. The shoot will last six weeks in total.

The film will be set in 1966 and 1967 and cover the period in which Hendrix was discovered in a New York club by Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richard’s then girlfriend Linda Keith. She subsequently introduced Hendrix to manager Chas Chandler who brought Hendrix to London in 1966, where he recorded his debut album ‘Are You Experienced’ and had his first taste of success. Over that period – 1966 to 67 – Hendrix went on to formulate some of the greatest guitar-driven records ever made.

This sounds very exciting! Can’t wait to see how it turns out…..

A brand new trailer for the upcoming “Dark Knight Rises” movie — the third and final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman series — has been released!

After much speculation, Lifetime has confirmed that Lindsay Lohan will play iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor in their biopic about the late actress’s life.

Lifetime Networks’ executive vice president of programming Rob Sharenow said in a released statement, “We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”

In the movie, called “Liz and Dick,” Lohan will play Taylor during her famed relationship with actor Richard Burton. The two fell for each other when they met on the set of “Cleopatra.”

They left their spouses, married, divorced, remarried and divorced again! (Sounds like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on steroids)

In a statement, 25-year-old “Mean Girls” actress Lindsay said of landing the role, “I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

Lindsay is also set to star in an upcoming episode of hit TV show “Glee” where she will play herself judging the glee club at the national show choir competition.

Looks like Lindsay’s so-called ‘failed comeback’ on Saturday Night Live paid off after all.

“Hunger Games” is no longer the #1 movie in America, thanks to a HUGE opening weekend from “Think Like A Man.”

The relationship comedy flick based off Steve Harvey’s book of a similar name, “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man,” debuted on weekend box office charts at #1 and earned an impressive $33 million, well above initial expectations of around $20 million.

Produced by Sony Pictures with a $12 million budget, the film — whose cast includes Chris Brown, Michael Ealy, Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall and Kevin Hart, is about four men whose love lives are disrupted when their partners begin using advice from Harvey’s book. The movie received an “A” CinemaScore, according to box office reports.

“It worked because it is so damn funny,” Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution for Sony Pictures, said. “It doesn’t matter whether you are a man or a woman, you are going to have a great time.”

Before weekend numbers came in, it was reported that “Think Like A Man” had earned $13 million — just $1 million more than its budget — in its opening night alone.

Since the principal cast of “Think Like A Man” is primarily African American, the movie’s success is being measured against movies from Tyler Perry, whose movies are all geared towards African Americans.

Think Like A Man’s big debut weekend opened stronger than all of Perry’s movies, with the exception of “Madea Goes to Jail,” which grossed $41 million during its opening weekend.

The “Hunger Games” was released three weeks ago, but that hasn’t stopped fans from checking out the movie in large numbers.

According to estimates, “Hunger Games” earned $33.5 million this past weekend, passing the $300 million mark, and beating out American Pie franchise movie “American Reunion” AND the 3D re-release of James Cameron’s “Titanic,” which each earned $21.5 million and $17.4 million respectively.

MTV News reported:

“The Hunger Games” ranked right behind “Avatar” in the all-time list of non-sequels to cross the $300 million mark in the shortest amount of time.

Its estimated $302.8 million in North American receipts is more than the final totals of most of the “Harry Potter” movies and all of the entries in the “Twilight” series. Box-office prognosticators have estimated that “Games,” based on the popular young adult novel, will eventually earn at least $350 million.

The fourth theatrically released “American Pie” movie, which followed 2003′s “American Wedding” and a string of direct-to-DVD “American Pie Presents” spinoffs, did poorly relative to other entries. The $21.5 million earned by “American Reunion” was much lower than the opening weekends for “American Pie 2″ ($45.1 million) and “Wedding” ($33.4 million).

Only the original “Pie” earned a “fresh” rating on film-review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes; “Reunion” is the worst reviewed of the series. “There are almost no laughs, save what [Seann William] Scott valiantly squeezes out of Stifler’s antics,” wrote the Wrap’s Alonso Duralde. “The entire film is a mistake,” wrote the San Francisco Chronicle’s Amy Biancolli.

“American Reunion” did manage to land the highest Easter weekend opening for an R-rated film in several years and also collected an impressive amount overseas, where it opened in 28 countries. The film’s $19.3 million abroad was more than “American Wedding” made nine years ago.

“Titanic” is the second-highest-grossing film of all time, behind “Avatar.” Both, of course, were directed by James Cameron, who personally oversaw the 3-D conversion of the new theatrical re-release.

The opening weekend for “Titanic 3D” was lower than that of other recent 3-D re-releases, including “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” as well as Disney’s “The Lion King” and “Beauty and the Beast.”

The star-studded movie premiere featured various red carpet appearances from much of the ensemble cast and celebrity supporters, including Gabrielle Union, Terrence J, Michael Ealy, Kevin Hart, Selita Ebanks, Regina Hall, Ne-Yo, T.I., Nelly and many others.

The red carpet also featured notable appearances from Tyler Perry, Lala Vazquez, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, and the movie’s creator Steve Harvey.

Only Rihanna could pull off wearing what looked like a gold and blue metallic PJ ensemble to a big movie premiere event … and that’s exactly what the Pop princess did at the Tokyo, Japan premiere of her new movie “Battleship.”

Even though Rihanna looks like she literally rolled out of bed and threw on a pair of high heels, she’s actually wearing a pant suit from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2012 collection. The “You Da One” singer continued the gold theme by accessorizing her outfit with a long gold necklace and hooped earrings.

Ashton Kutcher will play the late Steve Jobs in an independent film about Jobs’ early life and the founding of Apple, reps for the actor confirmed Monday (Apr 2).

The movie, simply titled “Jobs,” will follow the tech innovator’s life from when he and Steve Wozniak founded Apple in 1976, to when Jobs returned to the company in the late 90′s after being forced out. The film won’t cover Jobs’ later years with Apple.

Steve Jobs died at age 56 last October after battling cancer.

Production for the biopic is scheduled to begin in May while Kutcher is on hiatus from his hit CBS series “Two and a Half Men.”

34-year-old Ashton Kutcher, who first got his big break on the hit comedy series “That 70′s Show,” is known as one of the more tech-savvy Hollywood celebs.

With over 10 million followers, he is an enthusiastic user of popular social networking site Twitter, and was one of the site’s early adopters. Kutcher also has invested in several Silicon Valley start-ups.

Ashton’s movie will also reportedly face some competition from Sony Pictures, which is also developing a Steve Jobs biopic. According to reports, The Sony flick will based on the best-selling book by Walter Isaacson, released last October shortly after Jobs’ death.

The official full-length trailer for “Sparkle” — Whitney Houston‘s final film — was released by Sony Pictures this week.

The highly anticipated remake of the original movie of the same name (released in 1976) stars Houston as the mother of three girls (played by Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo) who form a singing group and struggle with the perils of fame.

Houston is prominent throughout the trailer, and at one point, the R&B icon belts out the classic gospel tune “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”

“Sparkle” — which also stars Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Cee-Lo Green — marks Whitney Houston’s first return to movies in 16 years, but it also sadly marks her final movie role as she passed away on February 11th 2012 in Beverly Hills, just three months after filming for the movie wrapped in Detroit.

“Whitney loved this movie very much. This was her idea,” one of the film’s producers Debra Martin Chase said. “The great thing for me as her friend and her producing partner is that this movie will be an essential part of her legacy. … It’s the best performance of her life; she knew it at the time. She looked beautiful on camera and she enjoyed every minute making the movie.”

She continued, “On the one hand, I’m so excited about the movie and we’re really happy with how it turned out. (But) just to have it said yet again that this is Whitney’s last performance, it’s hard. It’s hard.”

The Barbadian beauty stepped out in an all jet black long hair-do with a section of her hair shaved off on one side while attending a promotional event in Yokosuka, Japan for her new movie “Battleship.”

“I was missing she, but I aint ready to chop ha,” she tweeted in response to a fans comment that she had had a similar style once before.

Rihanna has been experimenting with different looks over the past week or so. Last week the ‘Talk That Talk’ singer was sporting a “gangsta gothic geisha” look for her upcoming music video with Coldplay, and days later she was spotted wearing a blonde wig at a “Battleship” promo event in London,

The “Hunger Games” — the most highly anticipated movie release of the year — made history as the third-highest non-sequel opening ever after pulling in over $155 million in the U.S. and Canada alone this past weekend.

According to Lionsgate, the massive domestic debut for the film ranks third behind last summer’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ and 2008′s Batman movie “The Dark Knight.”

Internationally, the movie about an oppressive society’s teen death match added $59.3 million from 67 global markets, making for a global debut of $214.3 million dollars, according to Reuters.

“Hunger Games” also currently holds the spot of Lionsgate’s highest-grossing film of all time.

With such a big opening weekend under its best, The “Hunger Games” is expected to top The Twilight Saga: Eclipse‘s big $300 million box office performance.

“Hunger Games,” a film adaptation of the first of three-best selling young adult novels by Suzanne Collins, is an action-filled survival drama, starring Jennifer Lawrence as a teen girl named Katniss Everdeen who fights in a televised battle-to-the-death ordered by the rulers of her society.

The film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz and others.

And that’s just the beginning! The “Hunger Games” is followed by two more books: “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay,” and judging by the success of the first movie … the next one will probably be released within the next year or two.

Universal Pictures is preparing to release the sequel to their highly success 2010 animated film “Despicable Me,” which earned $251.5 million in the U.S. alone, and over $540 million worldwide.

Every year, near the end of February, the world — or at least some of it — turns to Hollywood for its biggest night: The Academy Awards.

This year was no exception, with a show that’s controversy started months before the red carpet was laid, when the producer and host were abruptly pulled from the show, shocking insiders and fans alike.

Eddie Murphy’s title as host of the 84th presentation of the Oscars was short lived, as Billy Crystal became the new host after Murphy decided against going forward without his producing partner, Brett Ratner, who’d been ousted because of offensive comments made on a radio show.

This year’s show will undoubtedly be critiqued with as many disparaging words as positive ones. There were many moments to remember, from award winners accepting their gold Oscar, to moments on the red carpet that are memorable for reasons of fashion or just plain shock.

Jeremy Renner has taken Matt Damon’s lead role in the newly refreshed “Bourne” franchise, which is set to continue this summer with the release of “Bourne Legacy.”

Plot Summary: The fourth installment of the highly successful Bourne series sees the return of the franchise’s screenwriter, Tony Gilroy, this time stepping into the director’s seat for an entry which sidelines main character Jason Bourne in order to focus on a fellow estranged assassin (Jeremy Renner).

“Bourne Legacy,” opening in theaters on August 3rd, co-stars Ed Norton, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Rachel Weisz.

Sony Pictures has released an official full-length trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man,” the latest film adaptation of the famous comic book series.

Plot Summary: Peter Parker spends his days trying to unravel the mystery of his own past, until the day that he discovers a secret his father held that will ultimately send him down the path of becoming “Spider-Man.”

Starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Peter’s love interest, as well as Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Rhys Ifans, “The Amazing Spider-Man,” hits theaters in 3D on July 3rd.

Tyler Perry is working on a new movie and has enlisted a unique line-up of actors/actresses to star in it!

Eugene Levy, Romeo Miller and Denise Richards will all star alongside Perry in his latest film project, “Madea’s Witness Protection,” The Hollywood Reporter said earlier this week.

Perry be playing the infamous gun-toting, sassy-mouthed grandma Madea, while Eugene Levy will star in the movie as a wealthy man from Connecticut who is put in a witness protection program with his family after he gets caught in an embezzling scandal with his investment company.

Levy’s character, who is husband to Denise Richards’ character, is forced to move to Madea’s home in the South as a part of the witness protection program.

Romeo Miller will play a man who believes Levy is responsible for his church’s investment money being wiped out, and now wants to take the law into his own hands.

The cast of “Madea’s Witness Protection” also includes Doris Roberts, Devan Leos, Tom Arnold and Danielle Campbell, adding to the already interesting ensemble of actors/actresses.

Tyler Perry’s next movie “Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds,” in which he stars as the lead character, is set for release on February 24th.

The 2012 Golden Globe Awards were hosted by Ricky Gervais (for the third time in a row) live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills Sunday night (Jan 15).

Big winners for the night included George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Idris Elba, and the movies “The Artist” and “The Descendants.”

Morgan Freeman was also honored during the three-hour ceremony, with Freeman taking home the Cecil B. De Mille Award, presented to him by legendary actor Sidney Poitier, which Freeman said was an honor in itself.

The 2012 People’s Choice Awards aired live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater last night (Wed Jan 11).

Katy Perry was the big winner of the night, taking home five awards in the categories of “Favorite Female Artist,” “Favorite Song of the Year (E.T.),” “Favorite Music Video (Last Friday Night: TGIF),” “Favorite Tour Headliner” and “Favorite TV Guest Star (How I Met Your Mother).”

Following behind Katy Perry with the most wins of the night was “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” which picked up four awards, including “Favorite Ensemble Movie Cast” and “Favorite Movie.”

Other winners Wednesday night included Emma Stone (“Favorite Movie Actress”), Lea Michele (“Favorite TV Comedy Actress”), Ellen DeGeneres (“Favorite Daytime TV Host”), Jimmy Fallon (“Favorite Late Night TV Host”), Kim Kardashian (“Favorite TV Celebreality Star”), Lady Gaga (“Album of the Year” for “Born This Way”), Eminem (“Favorite Hip Hop Artist”), Rihanna (“Favorite R&B Artist”) and many more.

Ne-Yo, Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Tristan Wilds and several others will all be starring in a new film titled “Red Tails” produced by George Lucas.

The film focuses on the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American pilots to serve in World War II.

“Red Tails” hits theaters January 20th!

Though the nominees will not be announced until late next month, five films have emerged that will likely be honored. From a fabulous black and white silent film to a mainstream Brad Pitt production, here are some of 2011′s notable films.

Jean Dujardin in "The Artist"

The Artist: The fact that this film, based on a preexisting cinematic era, can be considered “original” is a testament to the genius of “The Artist.” Not since “Singing in the Rain” or “Sunset Boulevard” has there been a more touching foray into the emergence of talkies. Few films can capture the joy and excitement of old Hollywood the way in which this luminous tale of fame and romance does. Brilliant performances by French actor Jean Dujardin and Argentine star Berenice Bejo help make this film the year’s best.

Alexander Skarsgard and Kirsten Dunst in "Melancholia"

Melancholia: This haunting end of the world melodrama cements Lars Von Trier’s status as a cinematic mastermind. Kirsten Dunst stars as Justine, an unfathomably depressed bride who is desperate to connect with someone. Even her devoted new husband (Alexander Skarsgard) cannot hault her descent into madness. The film’s second act explores the perils of impending global destruction. Eerily beautiful, this rousing metaphor for mental illness is not easily forgotten.

Penn Badgley, Zachary Quinto, and Paul Bettany in "Margin Call"

Margin Call: It’s charisma with a side of riveting plot in this all-star drama. Led by breakout star, Zachary Quinto, the story explores the 2008 financial crisis and its initial effect on the corporate world. Dynamic performances, engaging dialogue, and a gripping portrayal of reality make “Margin Call” a low-budget gem.

Michael Fassbender in "Shame"

Shame: Ranking the film as one of the year’s best doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s watchable. Upon viewing the film you’ll add it to the list of films that stayed with you for days but you’d never view more than once. As haunting as it is informative, “Shame” captures the unsettling realities of sex addiction as the story’s central character, a brilliant Micheal Fassbender, plunges into a pit of self-destruction. Fassbender’s undeniably brave portrayal (he appears completely nude in the opening scene) is a major reason why the film is impossible to forget.

Brad Pitt in "Moneyball"

Moneyball: Wisely avoiding the usual round of sports movie cliches, “Moneyball” is a cleverly constructed portrayal of an amazing true story. The film caters to those who have little to no knowledge of baseball, and captures what the sport means to millions. Told through old footage, radio commentary, and photographs, it is as touching as it is witty.

The official full trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises” — one of next year’s biggest movies — is finally here!

The new “Men in Black III” trailer has finally arrived!

It was 15 years ago that the original “Men in Black“, starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, hit theaters.

Not only did the film have a super awesome theme song and set a precedent for cool, but it was also a box office smash and became a prevalent part of pop culture. And it made sense that Hollywood would jump at the chance to release a sequel 5 years later, known as “Men in Black II.”

Now, nearly a decade after MIB 2′s release, the film franchise’s third installment, ‘Men in Black III‘ is set to be released, featuring Smith and Jones, yet again, as well as Josh Brolin (who plays a younger version of Jones), Emma Thompson, Bill Hader and Nicole Scherzinger.

But can the film live up to the hype surrounding it? Check out the trailer below and judge for yourself!

The new film “The Muppets” has been popular with audiences and critics, and now it’s generating some Oscar talk!

According to the film’s star Jason Segel, the song “Man or a Muppet” should snag the “Best Original Song” award at the ceremony. He revealed: “I think think that ‘Man or Muppet’ should be nominated for an Academy Award. You can put that in print.”

The song, which is featured in the new “Muppets” movie, was penned by the uber talented “Flight of the Conchords” star Bret McKenzie while the video features a cameo by Jim Parsons from “Big Bang Theory.”

When you look back on some of the Oscar winning songs from the past, it’s not unlikely that the “Man or a Muppet” could be honored. Let’s not forget that Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” (from the movie “8 Mile”) and the “Hustle and Flow” track “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” were both honored by the Academy.

But for now, there’s just one question: Are you a Muppet of a man or a very manly Muppet?

Rihanna will make her big acting debut when the new sci-fi action flick “Battleship” hits theaters next year … and yesterday, the second official trailer for the movie featuring the Pop star hit the web.

Unlike the first trailer released over the summer, which only featured a quick glimpse of Rihanna (Seriously, if you blinked, you would have missed it!) … this new trailer shows the singer getting in on the action, gun in hand, as a strong, capable Marine helping protect the world from invading aliens.

According to IMDB, “Battleship,” which also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker, is “an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.”

“Think Like A Man,” a film adaptation of Steve Harvey‘s best-selling book of a similar name, is a romantic comedy about four men who have their love lives turned upside down when their girlfriends start taking advice from Harvey’s “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” book.

Once the guys figure out what’s going on, they decide to turn the tables on the women and take matters into their own hands.

In addition to the previously mentioned celebs, the film’s all-star cast includes Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, Terrence J, Romany Malco (“40 Year Old Virgin”), and more, as well as appearances from Lala Anthony, Keri Hilson and several others.

Upon viewing “Margin Call” you’ll realize two things. One, the financial crisis that began in 2008 is just as scary for major corporations as it is for the “little people.” And two, Zachary Quinto is going to be a major movie star.

The film captures a frantic 24-hour period in which a trillion dollar Wallstreet investment firm learns that their pattern of productivity is about to burst. The riveting drama turns the trading room floor into a platform of contention and destruction.

Eric (played by the always magnificent Stanley Tucci) is laid off after 19 years of service and escorted from the building like a criminal. But before he leaves, he informs his employee of some alarming news … everything they know has come to an end.

From the initial scene, the predatory nature of the corporate world is boldly captured, and we are introduced to each boss Russian nesting doll style, from the inside out. There’s the boss, then an even bigger boss, and an even bigger boss, until finally we meet Jeremy Irons’ character who reveals the three ways to make a living at the top: “Be First, be smarter, or cheat.”

Yet, gradually it becomes clear to the company that something horrific is about to happen. Something the audience recognizes as the beginning of global economic ruin. Watching the film may be likened to viewing early portions of a 9/11 movie. You watch knowing that something terrible is about to happen but the images on-screen reflect a nativity you wish so badly to revisit.

Director JC Chandor was offered a generous distribution deal by a major production company on the condition that he make the ending of the film more commercial, however he refused and the company passed on the project, forcing Chandler to settle on a low budget film, though with a genuine ending.

The film also manages to conquer a murky topic with an element of humility. Much of this is owed to Kevin Spacey. You’ll find no trace of the sociopathic/murderer boss he played in “Horrible Bosses” as he takes on an honorable and sympathetic role in this film. The dynamic between him and Quinto is quite compelling. Actually, the dynamic between Quinto and anyone is compelling. His performance is understatedly brilliant.

The rest of the noteworthy cast includes Penn Badgely, Simon Backer, Demi Moore and Paul Bettany, who launches into some seriously unforgettable monologues. Warning: scenes with up to three or more of these stars may result in more charisma than one could handle.

It’s finally official!

Ice Cube has confirmed that he will be releasing a new “Friday” movie … And there’s even a HUGE possibility that the entire original cast — including Chris Tucker as “Smokey” — will all be coming back!!

“Absolutely yes the studio is in the process of getting the entire original cast to do another ‘Friday.’ [Ice Cube] is very excited about this and has every intention to make it happen,” rep from Cube Vision Productions — who produced the first 3 Fridays — said in a statement.

We are totally psyched about a new “Friday” …. our only request is Day Day and Smokey BOTH be in this one!

Are you excited about the new “Friday” movie?

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame — whose rap name was allegedly inspired by Muppets character Fozzie Bear and his signature phrase “Waka! Waka!” — is rumored to the target of a joke in the new Muppets movie, which hit theaters right after Thanksgiving.

About an hour into the film, bad guy Tex Richman (played by Chris Cooper) introduces his crew of fake, evil Muppets called “The Moopets.”

Tex Richman: “The Moopets are a hard cynical act for a hard, cynical world.”
Fake Miss Piggy: “Hey Fozzie, I want you to meet a friend of mine!”
Fake Fozzie Bear: “Waka Waka!”

As you can see in the image above, “Waka Waka” is a tougher-looking version of Fozzie Bear with a deep voice and a large stack of gold chains, including a pendant that appears to be a large “WW.” Given his style, it’s hard not to assume that “Waka Waka” is a parody of a rapper.

While nothing has been confirmed, Hip-Hop heads caught on to the subliminal (alleged) jab, and are now questioning whether or not the filmmakers were actually trying to diss Waka Flocka, or or this is all a really funny coincidence.

Looks like Ashton Kutcher isn’t mourning the end of his six-year marriage at all, but rather basking in its conclusion.

The “Two and a Half Men” star and recovering Twitter addict was all smiles as he cozied up to “Glee” star Lea Michelle (without his wedding ring on, of course) on the red carpet of the L.A. premiere for the new movie “New Year’s Eve,” in which Kutcher and Michele are love interests. (Way to play your “part,” guys!)

When the pair wasn’t making googly at eyes at each other, they were seen tenderly caressing each other and sharing several laughs. Sources at the premiere say they even caught the ‘glee-ful’ duo whispering to each other in between giggles, talking about only God knows what.

This makes Kutcher’s very first red carpet appearance since his estranged wife Demi Moore announced that she was filing for divorce.

“New Year’s Eve,” starring Halle Berry, Ludacris, Jon Bon Jovi, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Sarah Jessica Parker and countless others, is a romantic comedy film directed by Garry Marshall that depicts a series of holiday vignettes of the state of several romances, akin to Marshall’s previous film “Valentine’s Day.”

While Ashton Kutcher is simply starring in a movie with lots of people in it … his soon-to-be ex wife Demi Moore is currently starring in “Margin Call,” a marvelous illustration of the 2008 financial crisis.

Whether or not you think Kutcher’s behavior is acceptable, make the right choice when choosing between the two films when you hit theaters this week.

The film ‘Shame’ is macabre portrait of a man with a crippling desire for filthy sexual encounters. The term ‘sex sells’ does not apply to the film’s appeal because of it’s raw and unsettling nature. Back in 2008, British artist Steve McQueen and Irish actor Michael Fassbender collaborated on the film “Hunger,” a haunting foray into the 1981 prison hunger strikes in Northern Ireland. But this time, the two set out to capture an emotional prison, rather than a literal one.

In “Shame,” Fassbender plays Brandon, a successful member of the corporate world with a debilitating sex addition, and his addictive pattern of hookers, porn, and street hookups is difficult to stomach.

Yet from the first frame, in which Fassbender remorsefully lies in filthy sheets, you cannot tear yourself away from the screen. The actor, who has already picked up a slew of awards for the film, is captivating. There is tremendous pain in his face that resonates even when he’s engaging in a sexual encounter.

Brandon’s addiction is disrupted by the arrival of his unstable sister Cissy (played by the brilliant Carey Mulligan). The two give a whole new meaning to the term “dysfunctional relationship.”

It seems that every word Cissy utters is a cry for help. This is especially true of the film’s most touching scene in which she sings ‘New York, New York’ and leaves her brother tear-stained. From there, Brandon’s agony begins to consume him. Despite an innocently sweet date with his coworker, Marianne (Nicole Beharie), he faces a downward spiral with little reprieve.

It may be argued that the film, which was branded with an NC-17 rating, is set to fail. In terms of cinema, America is known for having strange censorship laws. Whereas European and Latin American films portray sexuality in a manner that is honest, the US usually shuns explicit ventures and lets them fade quietly in a limited number of theaters.

As Fassbender told the Huffington Post, “Half of us have a penis and the other half has probably seen one, and so why should it be more normal to, like, chop people’s heads off and shoot people? Does that mean that that’s more acceptable or closer to us as human beings?”

I couldn’t agree more.

Plot: The Johnsons are an attractive, well-to-do, upper middle class family. Sidney, husband and father, is a famous poet, known and adored for his kindness and sensitivity.

Joan, wife and mother, is a dutiful housewife, an an obsessive house-maker and the life of every party. Their son, Isaiah, is a charismatic young man who has just gotten married to an equally appealing young woman.

In fact, there is only thing that separates the Johnsons from their charming friends and neighbors: Isaiah, the son, has been molesting Sidney, the father, since he was fifteen years old.

And what’s more, Sidney has written a memoir and chronicles, in great detail, the ins-and-outs of the unseemly father-son relationship.

Will the manuscript ever see the light of day, or will young Isaiah have a thing or two to say about it?

“The Strange Thing About the Johnsons” is a dark satire of the domestic melodrama, which asks “What if…?” and then, for some reason, comes up with an answer.

Tyler Perry is on the receiving end of some heavy backlash for casting reality TV personality Kim Kardashian in his upcoming movie “The Marriage Counselor.”

Now the writer/producer/director has spoken out in defense of using the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, who has also recently received some negative criticism of her own after she filed for divorce from her husband Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage.

In a blog post on his official website, Perry explains why he chose Kim Kardashian to play the role of a character named “Ava,” and he also gives a few details on the movie and other cast members, including Lance Gross, Brandy, Vanessa Williams, and others:

I think many of you know that this is a very difficult time of year for me, so what I try to do is make sure that I’m working during this time. All I wanted to do was shoot a great film and try to keep my mind off the holiday grief that I have been experiencing for the past two years. I could not have imagined I’d be getting all these emails about Kim Kardashian. I HAVE SEEN THEM!! YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD!! …LOL. Now, may I say something? Can a brother get a word in?….LOL. Y’all gave me a new movie title, Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman Cause You Hired Kim Kardashian, Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings and Boycott Yo A**.”…LOL. Some of my ladies are upset. Ok, all jokes aside, can I have my say? Will you at least hear me out?

I was in a Mexican restaurant and the cutest little old woman stopped me and said, “I want to talk to you about KAR-DAT- CHA-NEM.” I said, “Ma’am?” She said, “What is wrong with you putting her in the lead role of your movie?” By the time I explained to her that she was not in the lead role and why I thought she should be in “The Marriage Counselor”, she said, “Oh, I see your point and I can’t wait to see the movie.” So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to share with you what I said to her then maybe you’ll see why I wanted her in the film.

This movie is about a young lady named Judith (Jurnee Smolett), who grew up in the countryside of Virginia in a trailer park. She was raised in the church by her mother Sarah (Ella Joyce). Judith married her childhood sweetheart Brice (Lance Gross) and had the perfect life until she graduated college and went to work in the big city. After college, all she wanted to do was be a marriage counselor, but the only job she could find was working for a matchmaker named Janice (Vanessa Williams). Janice has several employees that work for her, including a woman named Ava (Kim Kardashian). Ava is constantly trying to influence Judith on everything from her shoes to her hair. Judith meets a man at work named Harley (Robbie Jones). Harley challenges everything in her life from her marriage to her husband to her faith. Meanwhile, Brice (Lance Gross), Judith’s husband works at a pharmacy owned by Mrs. Waco (Renee Taylor). Brice has just hired a coworker named Melinda (Brandy), who has some major demons that she is running from. In the end, the choices that both of these young women have made come crashing down on them and their lives will never be the same. I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

After I finished writing this movie, I sat back and re-read it. Half way through my read, the gravity of what I had written hit me. I knew that this message was not only for my age group, but for all audiences, especially the youth. ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH!! YOUNG FOLKS NEED TO SEE THIS!!! And not just the young people that follow me, but the young people that are following other young people, as well. I wanted a younger cast, that’s why I put Jurnee in the lead and invited Lance Gross, Robbie Jones and Brandy. About two months ago, long before I even heard about Kim’s marriage or divorce, I was trying to finish up the casting. I said to one of my producers, “who else is out there that young people are looking up to?” One of my producers showed me pictures that his daughter had taken of several hundred kids lined up around the corner to get into a Kardashian store. They wanted to meet Kim. I thought, what better person! She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about, what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here. I hope you understand. I really do!

And lastly, because I believe that my films speak from the inside out, why wouldn’t Kim Kardashian be invited into a film about Faith, Forgiveness and the healing power of God? What is wrong with that??

Chris Tucker has finally come up with an answer to his financial problems …. reprising his movie career!

Tiny Lister, who played “Debo” in the movie franchise says the 39 year-old actor is in talks with Ice Cube about filming a fourth “Friday”.

Tiny Lister was hangin’ out in L.A. last night — when the scariest man in Hollywood told us … Tucker flew him out on his private jet recently to discuss the possibility of getting the ORIGINAL “Friday” crew back together.

FYI — Tucker shot into superstardom playing pot-obsessed Smokey in the original “Friday” back in 1995 … and then refused to appear in any of the sequels, citing religious reasons.

But now, Lister tells us … Tucker and Cube have a big pow-wow set for next week to discuss a 4th “Friday” film … adding, “This is gonna be the big one.”

Lister told us he and Tucker also talked about doing a sequel to the 1997 hit, “The Fifth Element.”

The first official trailer for “The Hunger Games” has finally arrived!

“The Hunger Games,”one of the most anticipated films of 2012, is a sci-fi action drama based on the teen novel of the same name written by Suzanne Collins.

Academy Award nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence stars in the movie as a character named Katniss, who competes in the Hunger Games, a nationally televised tournament where two parties fight to the death.

“Hunger Games” also stars Josh Hutcherson, who plays fellow competitor Peeta, and Liam Hemsworth, who plays Katniss’s friend Gale. The Gary Ross directed movie is set to hit theaters in March 2012.

Jordin Sparks was by far not the first choice to play “Sparkle” in the upcoming movie remake.

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Whitney Houston revealed that Aaliyah was originally suppose to star in the film:

“This was [Aaliyah’s] movie, when we brought it to her, she was so enthusiastic about it and she wanted it, to do it so badly. She was our Sparkle. Unfortunately, it just didn’t go that way. I put it down. I said, ‘My Sparkle has gone to a better place,’ then we just left it alone.”

We can only imagine how great this movie would have turned out if Aaliyah was still with us today.

The trailer for “Snow White and the Huntsman” has finally arrived!

Starring Kristen Stewart (as Snow White), Charlize Theron (as the evil queen), Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin, the film, one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, is set to hit theaters next summer.

Synopsis: Kristen Stewart plays Snow White, the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Hemsworth) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

“Snow White and the Huntsman,” directed by Rupert Sanders is due in theaters on June 1st 2012.

As a collective, Tyrese and Taraji P. Henson will always be known as “Jody and Yvette from Baby Boy” … and if new reports are anything to go by, it looks like the pair are to re-unite for a second time in a new John Singleton movie!

Though details about the film (including a possible title or who else will be in it) have yet to be released, Tyrese recently revealed that it will most definitely NOT be a sequel to “Baby Boy,” which was released in 2001.

“Official.. Me and my girl Taraji are doing another classic together soon.!! John Singleton will be directing us. And not it’s not BB2.”

Tyrese recently sat down with an interview with Ace Showbiz, where he spilled the beans about the upcoming John Singleton flick:

The first single “Stay” was made available for purchase in August, and was written based on a relationship he had years ago. “I was in a relationship with this girl and I wasn’t making her priority. I did what I had to do to get her love me and like me and get her in a relationship with me and I basically at the time, which was years ago, … started to focus more on my career,” he shared. “So things got extra bad and I was begging her to stay.”

The love story was visualized in a beautifully-shot music video which sees Tyrese reuniting with his “Baby Boy” co-star and longtime pal Taraji P. Henson. “I love her [and] she loves me. She’s a beautiful person, very humble, funny as hell. Even though it’s been ten years [since 'Baby Boy'] you can’t really put a timeline between magic,” he gushed. “I think she’s really special, beautiful and I was honored that she wanted to do my ‘Stay’ video.”

Talking about reunion with Taraji, Tyrese spilled further that he has been in talks with “Baby Boy” director John Singleton to team up with her again in a new movie. The rumor started swirling when “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” actress tweeted about her meeting with the two guys, and it was later confirmed by Tyrese himself. “John singleton is on a mission to get me and Taraji to do it again,” he stated.

Disney’s “The Lion King 3D” is still the #1 movie in the country after bringing in $22.1 million over this past weekend, stealing the coveted spot from Brad Pitt’s “Moneyball,” which came in at a close #2 with $20.6 million in box office sales, followed by “Dolphin Tale” (featuring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd), which brought in $20.3 million.

So far, Lion King 3D, which has only been out for 10 days, has earned $61.7 million domestically. It has earned over $70 million worldwide.

Other movies released this weekend were “Abduction” (starring Taylor Lautner) and “Killer Elite” (Robert DeNiro and Jason Statham).

50 Cent may have to resurrect his side kick “Pimpin Curly” to get a little advice for his upcoming movie role.

According to reports, the business mogul has secured a role in upcoming movie “Frozen Ground” (directed by new film director on the block Scott Walker), and will play a pimp from the 1980′s.

“Frozen Ground,” which also stars Nicolas Cage, Vanessa Hudgens and John Cusack, is based on the true-life story of an Alaskan pimp turned serial killer named Robert “Butcher Baker” Hansen, who took the lives of over 20 prostitutes throughout the 70′s and 80′s.

Cusack will play Hansen, while Cage will portray an Alaska State Trooper that pursues him. Hudgens will play as one of Hansen’s “escaped victims.”

Not content with just starring in the movie, 50 will also release the project via his Emmet/Furla films imprint.

The film is scheduled for release in December 2012.

The newly released 3D version of Disney‘s wildly popular animated movie “The Lion King” claimed the weekend box office throne this weekend … with domestic ticket sales totaling up to $29.3 million, shocking critics and even people at Disney, who estimated that the movie wouldn’t do more than around $10 million or so.

Since its release in 1994, the original Lion King — considered to be one of the most successful animated films of all time — has earned an impressive $358 million dollars in the U.S. alone, and $784 million in theaters worldwide.

A 3D Blu-ray disc for “The Lion King” is set for release next month.
