It’s been a minute since D’Angelo has been on the scene … but it looks like the “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” singer is on the verge of a comeback!

In his first interview (and magazine shoot) in 12 years, D’Angelo talks to the June 2012 issue of GQ Magazine about what he’s been up to in his time off from music, why he left the industry without warning over 10 years ago, his run-ins with the law, his struggles with substance abuse and more.

The interview also features quotes from the R&B crooner’s close friends, including Chris Rock, Questlove, and his baby mama, R&B singer Angie Stone.

D’Angelo on the evil forces in music, and how much power music has:

“There’s forces that are going on that I don’t think a lot of motherf**kers that make music today are aware of. It’s deep. I’ve felt it. I’ve felt other forces puling at me.” He stubs out his cigarette and leans toward me, taking my hand. “This is a very powerful medium that we are involved in,” he says gravely. “I learned at an early age that what we were doing in the choir was just as important as the preacher. It was a ministry in itself. We could stir the pot, you know? The stage is our pulpit, and you can use all of the energy and that music and the lights and the colors and the sound. But you know, you’ve got to be careful.”

D’Angelo on the response to the ‘Untitled’ video:

“One time I got mad when a female threw money at me onstage, and that made me feel like f**ked up, and I threw the money back at her. I was like, ‘I’m not a stripper.’”

Paul Hunter (Director of ‘Untitled’) on the video being misunderstood:

“Most people think the ‘Untitled’ video was about sex, but my direction was completely opposite of that. It was about his grandmother’s cooking. Think of your grandmother’s greens, how it smelled in the kitchen. What did the yams and the fried chicken taste like? That’s what I want you to express.” The video may have looked like foreplay, but it was actually about family, Hunter insists-about intimacy.

Later when I tell D’Angelo this, he says, “It’s so true: We talked about the Holy Ghost and the church before that take. The veil is the nudity and the sexuality. But what they’re really getting is the spirit.”

D’Angelo on battling substance abuse problems during his hiatus:

“I didn’t really think I had a problem like that,” he says, taking a hit off a Newport. “I felt like, you know, all I got to do is clean up and I’ll be fine. Just get in the studio and I’ll be fucking fine.”

D’Angelo on getting arrested for soliciting sex from an undercover female officer in 2006:

“It was just me making a stupid decision, a wrong turn, on the wrong night. I’m not the role-model motherfucker. Look at all the shit that I’ve been in.”

D’Angelo on Madonna:

When Madonna turned 39, she asked him to sing “Happy Birthday” at her party. One press report had her sitting on his lap and French-kissing him. In fact, two sources say that ultimately D rebuffed her advances at another gathering not long after. At that event, the sources say, Madonna walked over and told a woman sitting next to D, “I think you’re in my seat.” The woman got up. Madonna sat down and told him, “I’d like to know what you’re thinking.” To which D replied, “I’m thinking you’re rude.”

Chris Rock on black celebrities and fame:

“Black stardom is rough, dude,” Chris Rock tells me when I reach him to talk about D. “I always say Tom Hanks is an amazing actor and Denzel Washington is a god to his people. If you’re a black ballerina, you represent the race, and you have responsibilities that go beyond your art. How dare you just be excellent?”

Angie Stone — the mother of one of D’Angel’s kids — recalls an incident where she was pushed to the side at an awards show so he could walk the red carpet with Vivica Fox, instead of her:

Stone remembers an event in Manhatten in September 1996 that was billed as Giorgio Armani’s tribute to D’Angelo. Stone-thirteen years older than D-was three months pregnant with their son. They headed to the event together in a limo, but as they neared the venue where D was going to perform, it suddenly pulled over. “He was asked to get into another car, where he would be escorted by Vivica Fox,” Stone says, her voice breaking slightly. The lissome Fox had just appeared with Will Smith in the blockbuster Independence Day. “It was a Hollywood moment. They wanted a trophy girl. I had to walk in behind them to flashing cameras. It started the wheels turning of what was yet to come.”

Questlove — D’Angelo’s former bandleader — on his plans to escape stardom:

“On the last day of the eight-month [Voodoo] tour, Questlove says D’Angelo told him, ‘Yo man, I cannot wait until this fucking tour is over. I’m going to go in the woods, drink some hooch, grow a beard, and get fat.’ Questlove thought he was joking. ‘I was like, ‘You’re a funny guy.’ And then it started to happen. That’s how much he wanted to distance himself.”

Questlove on calling D’Angelo after Amy Winehouse’s death:

“D’s the first person I called,’ Questlove recalls. And I was just honest, like, ‘Look, man, I’m sorry. I know you’re thinking I’m avoiding you like the plague.’ I just said plain and simple, ‘Man, there was a period in which it seemed like you were hell-bent on following the footsteps of our idols, and the one thing you have yet to follow them in was death.’”

Questlove on black artists who are self-sabotaging:

Questlove has a theory about what happens to black genius—what he calls a “crazy psychological kind of stoppage that prevents them from following through. A sort of self-saboteur disorder.”

D’Angelo — who re-emerged earlier this year in Stockholm and released a brand new song — is also scheduled to hit the stage this July during the annual Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

According to Newsweek Magazine, President Barack Obama is our country’s “First Gay President.”

The cover, which shows Obama adorned with a rainbow halo above his head, follows the president’s declaration last week that he is personally in favor of gay marriage.

Written by longtime Obama fan and gay political writer Andrew Sullivan, the cover article (and its attention-grabbing headline) isn’t an Obama diss, but a throwback to an article written by Toni Morrison in 1998 that called Bill Clinton our country’s “First Black President.”

Sullivan’s article isn’t available online yet, but he did write an emotional blog post last week in response to Obama’s announcement for his support of same-sex marriage:

I do not know how orchestrated this was; and I do not know how calculated it is. What I know is that, absorbing the news, I was uncharacteristically at a loss for words for a while, didn’t know what to write, and, like many Dish readers, there are tears in my eyes.

So let me simply say: I think of all the gay kids out there who now know they have their president on their side. I think of Maurice Sendak, who just died, whose decades-long relationship was never given the respect it deserved.

I think of the centuries and decades in which gay people found it impossible to believe that marriage and inclusion in their own families was possible for them, so crushed were they by the weight of social and religious pressure.

I think of all those in the plague years shut out of hospital rooms, thrown out of apartments, written out of wills, treated like human garbage because they loved another human being.

I think of Frank Kameny. I think of the gay parents who now feel their president is behind their sacrifices and their love for their children.

The interview changes no laws; it has no tangible effect. But it reaffirms for me the integrity of this man we are immensely lucky to have in the White House.

Obama’s journey on this has been like that of many other Americans, when faced with the actual reality of gay lives and gay relationships. Yes, there was politics in a lot of it. But not all of it.

I was in the room long before the 2008 primaries when Obama spoke to the mother of a gay son about marriage equality. He said he was for equality, but not marriage.

Five years later, he sees–as we all see–that you cannot have one without the other. But even then, you knew he saw that woman’s son as his equal as a citizen. It was a moment–way off the record at the time–that clinched my support for him.

Today Obama did more than make a logical step. He let go of fear. He is clearly prepared to let the political chips fall as they may. That’s why we elected him.

When asked if the president had any thoughts about the cover Monday morning (May 14), White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, “I don’t know if he’s seen it and I haven’t spoken to him about it.”

Meanwhile, President Obama will reportedly tape an appearance on ABC’s “The View” Monday, where he is expected to speak further about his support for gay marriage. The interview is scheduled to air on Tuesday morning’s episode.

“I see this record continuing the artistic journey Usher began the first time he was recognized for fusing sounds with Lil Jon to create ‘Yeah!’” Miguel — [GOT Note: Usher's rumored girlfriend] — says. “Usher revels in the challenge of expansion and is courageous enough to take risks to grow as a performer.”

“In life we have to grow,” Usher says of his management changes, “and one thing that’s been beautiful is that I’ve been able to grow along with my mother and people of my past. They’re proud of me as I move forward, and are able to acknowledge the work I’ve been doing and say, ‘I like what you’re doing, and I like that you’ve been able to pick it up and continue to move on.’”

On whether or not she could write a country song about being rich and famous:
“With no irony? I don’t think so, because country music is for real people. I think it would be very hard to write about my Louboutins. Do you know what I mean? My giant house, it’s not relatable. But my husband came from a small town and hardworking parents like I did, and I don’t think we’ve lost that mind-set. We don’t have a bowling alley in our basement. We don’t have houses on the beach and one in New York and one in L.A. I drive a three-year-old Ford Escape Hybrid. We don’t care about stuff like that.”

On her new album Blown Away:
“There’s a happy-go-lucky feeling to some of it: A nice spring day, put the top down, turn it up, enjoy the world. But there’s a darker feeling too. We kill a couple people. It wouldn’t be a Carrie Underwood album without a revenge song on it. People really like when I do that. I don’t mean to. I don’t hate men that much. But it turns out so well!”

On her songwriting process:
“I’m not a creative person who’s up until 4:00 A.M., writing songs and being weird. I write with people, sharing stories, catching up. I feel I could easily sit down and write a song by myself, but when you get three people, different emotions pour out, and you take them all, round them up, and make them into one coherent thought.”

On what she wishes were different about her singing voice:
“I’m competitive. When I hear somebody else do something I can’t, it drives me nuts. Steven Tyler–that screamy thing he does? I can’t do that. I have too much control over my voice. Or people like Mariah Carey, who can do whistle tones [notes that are at the highest point of the vocal register]. I’ve tried, but I can’t train myself to do it.”

On doing chores she likes vs. chores she’d rather someone else do:
“I love to be at the grocery store. It makes me happy to have a full fridge and a full pantry. I hate sending my laundry out. I don’t like the thought of other people washing my clothes. What am I happy not doing? Lawn care. And I have a business manager who pays my bills. I did all that myself in college, but I only had one credit card back then.”

On her first irresponsible purchase after her career took off:
“My first stupid purchase was an accident. I was in Paris and went into one of those big, name-brand, fancy-schmancy designers, and I picked up a sweatshirt. Maybe I didn’t understand the price tag. I’m really bad with numbers. But when I went to check out, that sucker was $2,000. I’ve worn it twice.”

On being in a relationship with her husband, Mike Fisher, in the public eye:
“A plus is, he knew what to expect. In Canada he was a big celebrity, so he knows what it’s like living under a microscope. And he travels a lot, which is good for both of us. We’re both independent people, so we can’t have somebody around 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The drawback is that we can go weeks without seeing each other.

“But he’s the only guy I’ve never had to worry about. Any guy I’ve ever dated, there would always be that doubt: ‘He didn’t answer his phone. What’s he doing? It’s late.’ I’m not the crazy-girlfriend type, but there was a little voice in the back of my head. I don’t have to worry about Mike. I don’t think twice. He’s going out? I don’t care; it doesn’t bother me. I don’t bat an eye.”

According to People Magazine, Pop/R&B singer Beyonce is the most beautiful woman in the entire world

The magazine crowned the 16-time Grammy winner the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” in their special issue that highlights other beautiful famous women, like Paula Patton, Charlize Theron, Sofia Vergara and more.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” Beyonce says inside her World’s Most Beautiful Woman cover story. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

The 30-year-old singer gave birth to her and Jay-Z’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter, in New York City on January 7th 2012.

“She’s just the cutest thing,” gushed Beyonce, who sings lullabies to her daughter and says she loves changing diapers.

When asked who her newborn daughter looks like the most, Beyonce said, “She looks like Blue … She’s her own person.”

She added, “The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy. The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Beyonce and Halle Berry — who was named “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” in 2003 — are the only two black women to receive the honor from People Magazine in 22 years.

Other famous women who have topped the most-beautiful women in the world list include Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Lopez, who won last year.

In the interview for Vibe’s “2nd Annual Global Issue,” the R&B singer/songwriter sits down with her husband Swizz Beatz and the two discuss how they became soul mates.

“It was the craziest thing,” says Dean, leaning forward in his chair. “We had a work lunch with some people, and I get home and look in the back pocket — My credit card was in his pocket,” Keys ?nishes the story, eyes wide. “Why was my credit card in his pocket?”

One explanation might be that he’d grabbed it by accident when they split the check, but that would be too prosaic. They saw the credit card debacle as a sign, the ?rst of many. Well, second, if you count the time, 14 years ago, when they ?rst met and Dean tried unsuccessfully to get her number from his friend. “It wasn’t our time yet,” he says with a smile.

Maybe it’s the swanky lighting, the buzz from the booze or simply the glow thattends to bounce off of famous people, but now de?nitely seems to be their time. And hers, especially. At 31, Keys is among the best-selling recording artists of all time. She’s released ?ve albums, won 14 Grammys and sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

She’s now working on her sixth album, and yet she appears relaxed, approachable, easy-breezy. Of course, she’s sort of always seemed that way, even all the way back in 2001, when she was a new artist with plenty of Harlem swag (Keys’ roots are from Hell’s Kitchen, N.Y.) promoting her ?rst album, Songs in A Minor. Nadya Suleman aka the “Octomom” is facing rough times, and desperate times call for desperate measures.

According to reports, the mother of 14 is several months behind on her mortgage, and is just days away from being homeless.

So what does a desperate mother of more than a dozen children do in times like these? She poses nude for a foreign magazine, that’s what!

The 36-year-old is featured in a racy photoshoot for British magazine Closer, for which she was reportedly paid at least $10,000; and in the story Suleman brags about her “post-babies” body and her 13-year celibacy, and also claims that she has no interest in dating men until her octuplets are 18 years old.

“Men love me, but I will be celibate for the next 15 years,” she tells the U.K. publication.

From there she goes on to share a little more information than anyone would care to know, like how many men she’s slept with and her “first.”

Octomom continued, “I’ve been celibate for 13 years and plan to remain so until the octuplets are 18. I’ve only ever slept with two men,” she reveals. “The first was when I was 20 – we stayed in touch and he’s been my sperm donor, but we don’t talk now. The second was when I was 21. He was my boyfriend for five years. We tried for kids, but couldn’t conceive.”

Nadya Suleman looked like this during her pregnancy in 2009.

She added, “I wouldn’t rule out a relationship in the future. But now, when men look at me, I look away and they know not to approach me. I know I’m beautiful – I don’t need a man to tell me that.”

Suleman also discussed her parenting skills, pointing out that she’s “trained” her litter of children well.

“I’ve trained them so well, they can brush their own teeth, dress themselves and scrub each other’s backs –- they’re so independent,” she said, adding that the older kids help out around the house, which frees her time up to do the massive family’s five loads of washing a day.

But she insists, “It’s not chaotic. They’re very quiet and obedient and they’re well-behaved and smart. The kids have structure and discipline and only eat healthily – they don’t know what candy is! I’ve done a really great job with them – I don’t get any credit.”

She just had a baby less than a year ago, but Kim Zolciak, who stars in Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality series, is pregnant once again.

Zolciak and her husband Kroy Biermann, who plays for the Atlanta Falcons, confirmed the news to Life & Style Magazine on Tuesday (Mar 20).

“Kroy and I are so excited,” Kim told Life & Style. “To decide we wanted to get pregnant again and have it happen so quickly was such a blessing.”

According to Life & Style, Kim is about four months along, and she proudly shows off her growing baby bump inside the pages of the magazine, which is on newsstands now.

Kim and Kroy welcomed their first child together, a son they named Kroy Jagger Jr., last May. They wed in a lavish ceremony a few months later on November 11th 2011.

By herself, Kim also has two older daughters — 15-year-old Brielle and 9-year-old Ariana — from a previous marriage.

The Young Money rapper talked to the men’s magazine about his relationship with his dad, why he’s been successful and his promiscuous past, which he claims to be done with.

“I just need something else,” he said. “The seconds after a man reaches climax, that’s like the realest moment of your life. If I don’t want you next to me in that fifteen, twenty seconds, then there’s something wrong.”

On being happy:
“I’m actually really happy. I’m trying to find the same feelings that I had for women when I had very little going on, which is tough. When I was in my mom’s house, I had nowhere to go, no real obligations.

“My girlfriend at the time, if she was mad at me, my day was all f*cked up. I didn’t have anything else. And that made for some of the best music, I think, to date. Records where I felt small.

“That feeling is hard to capture when you’re sitting out here in a space like this.” He gestures to the pool, the tennis court, the volleyball court, the stables. “It’s really difficult for me to find something that makes me feel small.”

On his promiscuous past:
“There’s just a time where it was like, just getting p*ssy. Where I was in that sort of ‘I’m young, I’m going to disconnect from my emotions and just do what everyone else tells me I should do and just be a rapper and have my fun.’ And for me as a person, it just doesn’t work. I just need something else. The seconds after a man reaches climax, that’s like the realest moment of your life. Bruno Mars is the 10th man to cover Playboy Magazine in almost 60 years

Bruno Mars makes history as the 10th man to ever grace the cover of Playboy Magazine!

Appearing alongside playmate Raquel Pomplun on the cover of the almost 60-year-old magazine’s 2012 April “Sex & Music” Issue, Bruno Mars, 26, talks about his music, his influences and the one musician who he would most like to work with if he could.

On his music: “My album is called Doo-Wops & Hooligans, but it’s not a 1950s ‘Earth Angel’ sound like you hear in Grease-type movies. I could sing you a thousand and one doo-wop songs. I love the simplicity in that music. It’s not superpoetic, it’s just from the heart.”

On the musicians he looked up to growing up: “Growing up in the showbiz world, I looked up to those guys: Frank Sinatra and of course Elvis Presley. My dad was into the 1950s doo-wop era. If you look at those groups, or at James Brown, Jackie Wilson and the Temptations in the 1960s, you’ll see you had to be sharp onstage.”

On the musician he’d most like to work with if he could: “Jimi Hendrix. I think he’s the greatest guitar player in the world, and I would want to see him do his thing in person. He’s the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place.”

In the issue, Jessica reveals that she and her fiance Eric Johnson are having a baby girl, though she still isn’t revealing her due date, which is reportedly some time this spring. (And by the looks of it … hopefully soon!)

Demi Moore was the first celebrity to pose nude and pregnant on the cover of a magazine when she graced the cover of Vanity Fair magazine back in 1991, when she was seven months pregnant with her middle daughter Scout.

15 years later Britney Spears did the same thing on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, and Christina Aguilera followed suit two years later on the cover of Marie Claire.

Mariah Carey posed nude when she was pregnant with her twins on the cover of Life & Style Magazine’s April 2011 issue, and actress Nia Long bared her naked baby bump on the cover of the November 2011 issue of Ebony Magazine.

And now Jessica Simpson is the latest celebrity to show off of her pregnant body on the cover of a major publication.

“I’m a lil nervous but I’ve never felt more beautiful or empowered,” she tweeted Wednesday about the cover’s debut.

After weeks of rumors and speculation, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has confirmed (via the cover of US Weekly) that she is 15 weeks pregnant, and she’s also engaged to her baby daddy — her boyfriend Jionni LAvelle.

“I have different priorities now,” reformed party girl Snooki says. “I don’t care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I’m ready and he’s ready.”

Adds LaValle: “We are not going to screw this up.”

The once pouf-haired star and LaValle discovered the news “right after New Year’s,” she said. Snooki’s first thought? “‘S–t, I’ve been drinking!’ I was worried. It was New Year’s Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy.” she admits.

“I’ve always felt like a tough girl from the Bronx, but I have a soft core,” said Lopez, who added that she knows how to fight. “I can take a lot of punches and still keep going. I’ve been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds.”

Lopez also talked about her ex husband Marc Anthony and shared her feelings on making mistakes.

On her ex Marc Anthony: “I mean, we’re parents and friends first. That will be the thread that ties us together. I don’t know if people expect it to be negative just because the relationship didn’t work out.”

On making mistakes: “You’re not going to hit the target or the bull’s-eye every time. That’s part of it. At the end of the day, I made those choices. I’ve been in the business now, I don’t want to say how many years. You have amazing moments of recognition and success. But at this point in my life, I try to take it all with a grain of salt.”

Lil Kim has landed the cover of a major publication: TIME Magazine!

Too bad it’s not the Lil Kim you’re thinking of, because landing a cover like that would definitely one up her archenemy Nicki Minaj.

But let’s be serious about this for a quick second. Lil Kim — the rapper — will probably NEVER land a cover like this, though it’s still a pretty big deal they used her name to make fun of the new Korean dictator.

The “Lil Kim” TIME is referring too is 29-year-old Kim Jong Un, who was appointed the new ruler of North Korea following the death of his father Kim Jong Il last year.

Why did they call him Lil Kim though?

Kicking off a heavy promotional campaign for her upcoming album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” Nicki Minaj is featured on the cover of the February/March 2012 issue of VIBE Magazine.

VIBE: You’ve said before that you didn’t really have fun recording Pink Friday.

Nicki Minaj: I felt like I had something to prove to everyone who said a female rapper could not make an album unless she was talking about her pussy. And so I went above and beyond to prove that I could not talk about sex and not talk about my genitalia and still have a successful album. And I proved that. And now my time for proving things to my critics is over. I don’t really need to prove anything to anyone else anymore.

Is it still hard to get your way as a woman in this industry?

It’s not hard to get your way when it’s your way or the highway. People either follow suit or they’re not around. I don’t really like the sound of that, ‘cause that sounds like a temper tantrum. I’m just very black and white when it comes to my business. There’s really no gray area. I really don’t have a lot of small talk with people I work with. It’s pretty much let’s get the job done. In the beginning, if people didn’t know me they’d probably assume I wasn’t smart or wasn’t business savvy. But once you sit and talk to me, it’s a different story.

You were heavy on the fashion scene last year around Fashion Week with Anna Wintour. Do you feel like you’ve been accepted by the fashion world?

Yeah, I realized more recently that even if it’s for a fashion magazine, I’m not gonna change who I am. When I was doing photo shoots last year, I kept on being told, “This is what we want your hair to look like and this is what we want you to look like,” and it really, really stifled my creativity. So the other day I was talking to a photographer, and he said, “You know what, I like your everyday looks so much better than when you do photo shoots for magazines.” And I was like, “So do I, you’re absolutely right.” I’d been getting more and more frustrated for a while.

But I’ve made up my mind that when you see a Nicki Minaj magazine cover from now on, it’s really going to reflect me and it’s going to be something that I creatively had a hand in, because I don’t have to do it anymore. I don’t have to do things just to please people. It’s okay to do what I love because what I love, my fans love. And they’re really the only ones that should matter. The fashion world will have to come to Nicki Minaj, as opposed to Nicki Minaj trying to go to the fashion world.

The 19-year-old model (yes, you read that right! she’s only 19!) poses in a teeny tiny red and brown string bikini that looks as if it’s simply painted over her eye-popping assets.

“That was one of the first photos from the first shoot,” Upton said in a telephone interview with the AP. “It was my favorite swimsuit … I felt sexy in it but confident.”

As an up and coming supermodel, landing the cover of SI’s coveted Swimsuit Issue, which is published only once a year, is a pretty big deal, so congratulations are definitely in order for Kate Upton!

On romance and Mariah Carey: “Mariah and I are both hopeless romantics. We just made a pact to say that we want to be in this because we enjoy each other and we love each other…We want to be successful at being in a relationship; we want to have a good time.”

On relationships: “A relationship shouldn’t seem like something you have to work at; it is not a task. We always wanted a fairy tale relationship…and the drama that normally comes with it, we [can] do without.”

Terrell Owens opens up about being a broke & unemployed athlete, his rumored suicide attempts, baby mama drama and more in the latest issue of GQ Magazine.

On suicide attempts:
“The hospital released me that night. If they thought I was suicidal or I hadn’t been conscious, you ask yourself, would they have let me go that night? … But that doesn’t mean I don’t get real down. I’m human; that’s what people don’t realize. I may be a public figure, but really, I’m just like a guy who could be in your family and have some difficult things happen to him.”

On blowing $80 million dollars:
“I hate myself for letting this happen. I believed that they had my back when they said, ‘You take care of the football, and we’ll do the rest.’ And in the end, they just basically stole from me.”

 On his baby mama drama:
“If there’s anything I’m sorry about, it’s getting involved with all that.”

He never actually dated any of the women, he says. One was a one-night stand, the others “repeat offenders.” Owens, who has never been married, concedes he is “not a very good judge of character.” Still, he “never suspected they were the types to do what they done in the past year.”

On not having any friends:
“I’m in hell. I don’t have no friends. I don’t want no friends. That’s how I feel.”

On falling out with Kita and Mo:
He misses Monique and Kita, who used to check in a lot; he fell out with them a few months ago, after shooting ended for the final season of the show, when he discovered they were trying to sell their own lives as a reality program. “They said they were planning to make me an executive producer, but if we were business partners, don’t you think I would have known about it?”

“With someone like Newt Gingrich, it’s a different kettle of fish. Neither one of them can say what they believe to be true and get nominated. Romney’s still trying to figure out what he did as governor of Massachusetts and still appeal to this driving vituperative energy.”

That if we could get businesses that are doing well together with people with good ideas, and with people that are doing training, and with banks that are willing to loan money under certain circumstances, then we could do some good. That’s what led to CGI America. And the commitments we’ve gotten will create or fill existing vacancies that haven’t been filled in months for more than 150,000 jobs and give more than twice that many people more-relevant job training. We also got another $265 million in direct commitments for investments of low-interest loans to small entrepreneurs, which is a big deal because the small-business loan rate in many areas has been going down even as the demand for the loans has recovered and, according to Pepperdine University, about 40 percent of American small businesses surveyed said they would hire more people if they could get the financing to do it.”

Justin Bieber, who will celebrate his 18th birthday next month, is all grown up, and is featured on the cover of V Magazine‘s first ever music issue.

Labeled as “Pop’s Crown Prince,” Justin strikes a pose in a mesh-knit black Dolce & Gabbana sweater on the cover, and inside the magazine is a spread photographed by Inez & Vnoodh and styled by Lady Gaga associate Nicola Formichetti.

“I want to be successful and be great and what I do,” Justin tells the high fashion magazine. “But eventually, I want to become the best at what I do. I want to be the best. In the world. I want to be better than anybody that’s ever done it. And in order to do that, I need to strive to be the best, be good to people and treat people with respect, and work as hard as I can.”

Jennifer Hudson says the birth of her 2-year-old son David Jr inspired her to take control of her health and lose weight.

Jennifer Hudson shows off her “80 pounds lighter” body on the cover of the February 2012 issue of Good Housekeeping.

Shortly after giving birth to her son David Jr, Jennifer became the spokesperson for Weight Watchers and ended up losing at least 80 pounds, putting her at a size 6.

“I feel like a doll that I get to dress up!” she says in her interview with the magazine.

“It’s crazy. They have to drag me off the red carpet! Because now it’s like, ‘You’re going to take a picture of what I’m wearing? You’re looking at me?’ I live for it.”

The R&B singer also admits that her 2-year-old son isn’t at all familiar with the old her, and doesn’t recognize her in old photos.

“He’s never known me overweight,” she says. “If he sees a clip of the old Jennifer from Dreamgirls, he doesn’t know who it is.”

Jennifer says that it was becoming a mother that really inspired her to take control of her life and join Weight Watchers.

“Everything changed the day my son was born,” she says. “Motherhood brought tremendous responsibilities … none greater than the obligation I felt to get healthy and be there for my son..”

“David deserved to have a mama who could run after him without getting wounded or tired, to have a role model who could teach him to make healthy food choices. I needed him to grow up with a mama who always would be there for him by caring enough about herself to take control of her health and her eating,” Hudson said.

Jennifer also explained how she inspired her family to join the Weight Watchers program and shed some pounds of their own.

“Over 75 of them are on Weight Watchers, and they’ve lost over 2,000 pounds altogether,” she proudly told the magazine. “My cousin beat me, she’s lost 112 pounds!”

Paris Hilton says her companies have generated over $1 billion in revenue since 2005 in her cover story for FHM UK Magazine.

“I’m involved in my products every step of the way. My fragrances are doing really well at the moment,” Hilton says in her cover story for the January 2012 issue of FHM UK Magazine.

Not only are her fragrances doing well, but Paris says all of her products as a whole are making big moves.

In fact, her companies have reportedly generated over $1 billion in revenue over the last six years. Yes … that’s billion as in “Billion.” With a B.

“I have 35 stores and 17 product lines,” Hilton tells the U.K. version of FHM magazine. “And then there’s my racing team, my 14 fragrances and my new project, the Paris Hilton Beach Club chain. The first one is opening in the Philippines soon. It’s going to have nightclubs, restaurants, bars, gyms. Everything really.”

“They’ve produced more than $1.3 billion in revenue since 2005,” she proudly states.

Hilton, who is currently dating Dutch DJ and music producer Afrojack, also revealed her plans to release a follow-up to her 2006 debut album, which was considered a flop by all standards.

“I have a huge passion for house music,” Hilton said. “I just haven’t been able to focus on it, because I have been doing reality TV for so long now. I’ve been working on the album with lots of other top DJs for a while now and I think people will be really surprised. It’s very modern and very catchy; perfect party music.”

“There are just so many great DJs right now,” Hilton adds. “And I should know — I’ve been to over 100 raves in the past year, so I’ve heard every type of music.”

17-year-old Dakota Fanning is all grown up now.

Dakota Fanning is not a little girl anymore.

The now 17-year-old actress who first came onto the scene in 2001 in the Oscar nominated movie “I Am Sam” shows off a more grown-up look on the cover of the new February 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine as their “Fun Fearless Female of the Year.”

“Since I was young, I’ve always known who I was,” the actress, who is currently in the middle of her freshman year at New York University, tells the magazine.

“I never really had to go through finding who I am. I’ve always felt really secure.”

The teenage actress, who began her career when she was just six years old, recently said in an interview with Britain’s Elle Magazine that she can’t believe how much she has accomplished so far at such a young age.

“I feel like I’ve lived a long time, but then I realize ‘Oh, I’m actually only 17,” she said.

Despite her success, the actress says she went to a “completely normal” high school and tries to live a pretty normal life.

She says she has remained so down-to-earth, in fact, that her friends sometimes forget that she’s a movie star. “My friends are like, ‘Oh wow, I just forget that you do movies.”

As we reported yesterday, the world is still on “Beyonce Baby Watch” as she has yet to deliver her first child with her rapper husband Jay-Z.

The word on the street was that Beyonce gave birth to a daughter named “Tiana Marie Carter” over the weekend of Christmas, however a new report from People Magazine states that the 30-year-old singer was clearly eating for two when she was spotted out with her husband Jay-Z feasting on fried chicken and oysters on New Year’s Eve at Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn.

“She was definitely a pregnant lady that night,” said an onlooker. “They sat side by side and had a cozy and intimate dinner. They seemed to be having a lovely time. [Beyonce] looked amazing. She wore sky-high heels. It was really impressive for an enormously pregnant woman,” added the source. She looked like she was about to give birth.”

Beyonce also got props from her sister Solange, who tweeted on New Year’s Day, “Shout out to my sister for being THE cutest pregnant woman ever!”

Beyonce shows off her sexy legs on the cover of Jones Magazine‘s first-ever Winter Arts & Entertainment issue, which is recognizing the R&B/Pop star for the contributions she has made to music, film, fashion and beyonce.

For her first Jones cover, Beyonce was photographed by Greg Gex (obviously way before she announced her pregnancy) from the terrace of the Maurice in Paris, France.

“I believe that parents prepare their kids for the moment that they’re on their own: at this point, I am taking everything my dad and my mother have taught me, and I’m able to do things my way,” the 30-year-old entertainer, who is expecting her first child with her rapper husband Jay-Z, told the magazine.

Kelly Rowland has been estranged from her biological father Christopher Lovett for more than 20 years and has never had a father figure in her life.

And you would think that since Kelly calls her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Beyonce her sister….then she would naturally consider Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles as her own father figure. But apparently that’s not the case.

In Kelly’s cover story for the latest issue of JET magazine (on newsstands now), the R&B singer reveals that she plans on meeting her real dad, who has battled alcoholism throughout his life and hasn’t seen his daughter since she was seven, for the first time in over two decades for the upcoming Holiday season.

“I think every little girl wants to be a darling in her father’s eyes, and I’m going to get the opportunity to meet my biological father, so we’ll see what happens” the 30-year-old star, who was raised by her mother, admits. “That’s all I can say because I’m going to meet someone I haven’t seen in more than 20 years. In my heart I have forgiven him.”

When asked about her former manager Mathew Knowles, who is the father of her sister/best friend Beyonce, and whether he played that father role in her life, Rowland responded:

“Well, I am so thankful I was able to have my mom and Tina (Knowles), as well as wonderful women in my life, so I’m happy about that.”

Even though Adele — recently named Billboard’s “Artist of the Year” — is basking in the success of her sophomore album “21,” which to date has sold over 13 million copies worldwide since its January 2011 release, the 23-year-old London native says she isn’t even thinking about her third album.

In fact, fans of the British singer, who is currently recovering from emergency throat surgery, shouldn’t expect another album from her for another 2 to 3 years.

“I’m really looking forward to some time to do nothing. I imagine I’ll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven’t even thought about my third record yet,” Adele told Billboard. “I’m just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just ‘be’ for a bit. I’ll disappear and come back with a record when it’s good enough. There will be no new music until it’s good enough and until I’m ready.”

When asked if she had started writing any songs for the follow-up to her 4x Platinum album “21,” she responded, “Nope!”

For those wondering how Adele is doing following her vocal surgery, she said, “The surgery couldn’t have gone better. But because I was singing with damaged vocal chords for three or four months and because of the surgery and because of the silence after the surgery I now have to build myself back up vocally.”

She continued, “It’s gonna be a lot easier for me to sing now. And mentally I won’t be worried about my voice on stage anymore. So I have to get used to that. That’ll take most of January, so February I’ll be singing properly!”

The Marilyn Monroe inspired photo shoot, which cost Hugh Hefner and Playboy a reported $1 million, shows the troubled actress topless against a red velvet background and paying homage to Monroe’s iconic Playboy Magazine photo.

A rep for the magazine tells FoxNews.com, “Someone took photos of Lindsay Lohan’s pictorial in an advanced copy of the January/February issue. They posted the photos online without permission. We are not releasing any official images or information until December 15.”

Vivica A. Fox told Access Hollywood in an interview this week that she called off her engagement with Atlanta club promoter Omar “Slimm” White … but apparently, that’s not how it went down.

According to Slimm — aka the “six pack and a smile” — he was the one who ended the relationship and he says Vivica is just trying to save face rather than admit the truth.

In an open letter released yesterday, Slimm tells his side of the story, calling his ex a liar and defending himself against claims of him using Vivica for her celebrity, adding that he would probably still be with her if she would stop with all of the “childish antics” and let go of the negativity.

Slim also adds that he was completely blindsided with the fact that Vivica had conducted an interview for the December 2011 issue of Sister 2 Sister Magazine (Check out the cover above!) about their relationship, apparently without his knowledge, after they had broken up.

I totally understand that a person would rather save face and avoid admitting their fiancé ended the relationship. So I understood why Vivica didn’t admit the reality of what really took place. She would have come out better if she stated we went our separate ways if she wanted to avoid the “true” nature of the breakup. I understand the illusion of life and what to avoid so I’m happy at the decision I made and one thing that was evident if she keeps it real or not is the fact I told her several times that “baby, no matter what we disagree about, let’s keep peace and love in the house.”

As you see in the month of December, her and I appeared on the cover of Sister 2 Sister, and when I saw the cover I was shocked because I walked away 2 months prior but I came to the realization that Vivica went ahead and did the interview as if nothing happened (At that time the public wasn’t aware of our breakup) So I’m thinking like if you really wanted to get Married instead of getting caught up in all the glitz and glamour you wouldn’t have continued to provoke stress in the relationship. If you were to ask Vivica right now, “Did Slimm try time and time again to keep the relationship strong” she would have no choice but to admit who I am and the good examples I set! I always told her toward the end that “baby, I will loose interest if we keep this up”… When you have a bond with a woman that fire can fade if both parties involve don’t fight to preserve Chemistry…

But as I stated once before she has a great personality and a good spirit but you will never find true happiness if you cannot …overcome negativity and childish antics… I wish her the Best

Lindsay Lohan‘s hugely anticipated Playboy Magazine cover has leaked online prematurely!

Shortly after it was reported yesterday that Lilo would debut the “tasteful” spread herself next week exclusively on The Ellen DeGeneres Show … a photo of the cover popped up online, showing Lindsay with big blonde curls dressed in nothing but black stiletto heels while posing on a red chair shaped like the Playboy logo.

The full issue hits shelves next Thursday (Dec 15), the very same day Lindsay will make her guest appearance on Ellen.

The year 2011 saw the rise … and fall of a lot of celebrities but it takes a real superstar to be named “Entertainer of the Year” for the year 2011 by Entertainment Weekly Magazine.

That star is none other than Harry Potter himself!

Daniel Radcliffe, 22 not only starred in one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, he also took Broadway by storm.

According to EW magazine editior, Jess Cagle the adorably charming Brit deserves the title based on his talent and personality alone:

“Ultimately there was one person who made the most sense.” She added that Radcliffe is ”the nicest guy with one of the brightest futures in Hollywood. There’s nothing he can’t do. He’s really interested in doing the work. Despite all his wealth and fame as a teenager, he never derailed. He was never busted. Never went outside without his panties on.”

Even though Harry Potter was and always will be his most popular role, you won’t find any wizards or spells in Daniel’s next film, the English thriller, “The Woman in White.” Based on the book of the same title, the film chronicles a lawyer’s plunge into a world of crime and mystery.

Will audiences line up for the film as they have his previous ones? It’s difficult to tell but if the star’s theatrical endeavers are any indication, he’s here to stay!

Lindsay Lohan‘s little sister Ali Lohan is laughing off rumors that she had plastic surgery.

The 17-year-old was the on the receiving end of a lot of backlash when photos of her looking like a totally different person first popped up on the Internet after she signed with a modeling agency.

But Aliana tells Page Six Magazine in a brand new cover story that those rumors are completely ridiculous.

“I was cracking up. Because, like, when would I do that? I’m 17 years old,”" Ali insisted. “That’s not legal! I would need my mother’s signature, and do you think my mom would ever sign off on that? No!”

In addition to calling plastic surgery “not the right thing to do,” she said rumors claiming that she went under the knife are “stupid. It’s absolutely not true.”

Ali also admits that her sister is the perfect example of what NOT to do when it comes to drugs and alcohol.

“I’m lucky enough that I had my sister to learn from. I’ve seen people do it to her, so I’ve learned to be like, ‘That’s stupid, no.’ That’s why me and Lindsay are also so close, because we’re able to talk about those things together,” she explained.

Kim Kardashian can’t make her mind up on whether she’s a hopeless romantic or not …. but luckily she has her big sister Khloe to help out!

In her brand new cover story for the January 2012 issue of Glamour Magazine, the reality star, who poses alongside her sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, says she still believes in the idea of love and the perfect relationship, but needs to be more realistic.

Kim Kardashian: …I think I’ll always be a hopeless romantic.

Glamour: What do you mean by that?

Kim Kardashian: It means that I believe in love and the dream of having a perfect relationship, but my idea of it has changed. I think I need to not live in a fairy tale like that. I think I maybe need to just snap out of it and be a little more realistic.

Khloé Kardashian: I love Kim’s belief in love and the fact that she feels so strongly about it. She has that dream every girl has.

Kim Kardashian: Well, I don’t think I have it right now.

Khloé Kardashian: Which is fine, but I’m your sister and I know why you don’t have it right now. But I know you will get it again.

Kim Kardashian: I hope I do. But by then I hope maybe I’m a little bit more realistic.

T.I. is featured on the cover of the December 2011 issue of VIBE Magazine, where the Kang makes one hell of a controversial statement that has gotten the gay community all riled up:

“Man, I will say this, the funniest joke I ever heard Tracy say during a stand-up was, ‘C’mon man, I think gay people are too sensitive. If you can take a d**k, you can take a joke.’ [Cracks up laughing.] That sh*t was funny to me. And it’s kind of true.’”

While T.I. makes clear that he supports anyone’s sexual preference, he then connects, in his opinion, a current oversensitivity among gay people with a consequential and ironic offense of the First Amendment. “They’re like,‘If you have an opinion against us, we’re gonna shut you down.’ … That’s not American. If you’re gay you should have the right to be gay in peace, and if you’re against it you should have the right to be against it in peace.’”

In addition to that, the rapper also talks about being skeptical about Osama Bin Laden’s death and even gets a little defensive when questioned about why his wife Tiny didn’t take the drug charge that sent him to prison for another year

The conversation shifts from Muammar Gaddafi’s death—which occurred five days prior—to Osama Bin Laden’s assassination to both Eastern giant’s once empowered relationship with the U.S. government. “It’s like everybody that the U.S. was besties with, years later they’re the worst person in the world,” says Tip. “My question is what character traits do they possess now that they didn’t possess when y’all were besties? What made it go astray, and who’s to say they were on the dishonest end of that?”

The politic’n doesn’t stop there. Before an article can be selected from the “Osama Bin Laden killed” search, T.I. twists his lips in sarcastic fashion and shoots, “If that really happened.”

On a sad day in October 2008, the “Dreamgirls” star’s mother, nephew and brother were tragically shot and killed. But what most people don’t know is that Hudson was originally supposed to be with them on that very same day, however, her fiancee David Otunga asked her to attend one of his WWE fights in Florida.

So instead of being in Chicago with her family, she flew out to Florida to be with her fiancee, something she recalls saved her life.

“He wanted me to come out to Florida with him instead of going to Chicago,” Jennifer explains. “I flew out to see him; that’s why I’m still here. That’s one of the things that saved my life. Because I could have been home with my mum then. I’ve never said that before, and I can’t believe I just said that now. But I didn’t know.”

Speaking on her weight loss and the controversy behind Joy Behar from ‘The View’ saying she was a size zero, Hudson said, “I am going to finally address that size-zero thing that Joy [Behar] said on The View. Hell I wasn’t even on the show. I never said I was a size zero. I got crucified by I don’t know how many people who cussed me out because they said I’m putting out the wrong message and telling people to be a size zero. I got called every name under the sun and was told, ‘You should be ashamed of yourself for talking about being that size.’ Well, honey, when I do say I’m that size, then give me that speech. Kim Kardashian covers the December 2011 issue of Marie Claire Magazine, where she mainly talks about her marriage to Kris Humphries.

In the interview, conducted just weeks before the reality TV star filed for divorce from her husband after only 72 days of marriage, Kim talks about her million dollar nuptials, how she’s “not worried” about her relationship with Kris because “we have a lot of trust, and I don’t think either of us would do anything to break that,” and a lot of other topics that seem a lot more awkward now that we all know that her marriage was a complete sham.

I learned how to cook and do a lot of marital things. It definitely taught me what being a wife is all about. I think it means taking care of each other’s needs and being there for someone unconditionally.”

On her family’s reality shows:

Jay-Z graces the cover of GQ’s upcoming “Men Of The Year” December issue, where the soon-to-be father speaks on his relationship with his late father Adnis Reeves (who abandoned his family when Jay was 11 years old) and also reveals how he plans on not just providing for his child, but also being deeply involved in their life.

On his father abandoning him:

“If your dad died before you were born, yeah, it hurts—but it’s not like you had a connection with something that was real. Not to say it’s any better—but to have that connection and then have it ripped away was, like, the worst. My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar. He was my superhero.”

On meeting with his father before his death:

Just a month before his father died in 2003 from alcoholism … Jay got a chance to meet with him and finally get to say all of the things that had been affecting him for years.

“[I talked about] what it did to me, what it meant, asked him why. There was no real answer. There was nothing he could say, because there’s no excuse for that. There really isn’t. So there was nothing he could say to satisfy me, except to hear me out. And it was up to me to forgive and let it go.”

On physically being there for his child:

“Providing—that’s not love. Being there—that’s more important. I mean, we see that. We see that with all these rich socialites. They’re crying out for attention; they’re hurting for love. I’m not being judgmental—I’m just making an observation. They’re crying out for the love that maybe they didn’t get at home, and they got everything. All the material things that they need and want. On him changing diapers:

George Clooney shares way too much information about his per-pubescent sex life, which he claims he started “early,” in his cover story in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, where he reveals how he had his first orgasm when he was in the first grade. (Wow!)

“I believe it was while climbing a rope when I was six or seven years old,” Clooney tells Rolling Stone magazine. “I mean, nothing came out, but all the other elements were there. I remember getting to the top of the rope, hanging off the rope, and going, “Oh, my God, this feels great!”

The actor said it wouldn’t be for another 10 years until he would officially lose his V-Card. “Young, very young, too young,” Clooney said of losing his virginity at 16 years old.

Clooney also talked about other things, including how he “punished” himself for masturbating (which he believed to be a “crucial,” but sinful, habit), his love of the word “Johnson,” how he’s fond of farts and much more.

Mariah Carey is proud to show off her post-baby body (or post-babies, we should say) to the world!

The songstress, who gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe back in April, lost a staggering 70 pounds after embarking on the Jenny Craig diet plan, she revealed earlier this week during an appearance on OWN’s “The Rosie Show.”

She is also featured on the cover of the latest issue of US Weekly Magazine, where she proclaims: “I Got My Body Back!” and she explains her easy day-to-day diet plan that helped her lose 30 pounds in just 3 months.

But it wasn’t easy, explains Carey, who admits she was initially worried she would never be the same again after the pregnancy.

She told Rosie O’Donnell, “In the beginning, when I first had the babies, I had so much edema, water and swelling. Most pregnant women have that just in their feet. One day I was doing my thank-yous and I noticed it started rising up the leg, so I had edema. I didn’t think I would ever be the same person.”

Because she wasn’t able to exercise after having a Caesarian section, Mariah says it was the Jenny Craig diet plan that helped her lose most of her weight.

“The first week, I lost 40 lbs of just water. It was just water, initially. When I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs of weight that needs to be lost,” she explained.

The 42-year-old star also explained how she struggled throughout her pregnancy, and even had trouble on bed rest.

“I had a really tough pregnancy. I was supposed to be on bed rest, but it was so bad then even bed hurt. I learned a lot being pregnant, watching my body change,” she said. “The whole point of this is not just like, ‘Oh hey, look at me and my weight loss, I’m fantastic.’ It’s really healthy. Like I said, I learned it when I became helpless and felt so vulnerable like never before in my life.”

“I learned a lot being pregnant and watching my body change…going ‘Why did I put so many mirrors in this freakin’ house.’ I’m walking past these mirrors and I’m ready to die,” Mariah said with a laugh. “But I left them there. It was what it was.”

In addition to obviously talking about being a cheerleader, 17-year-old Corrine dishes on her famous dad Jamie Foxx (real name: Marlon Bishop) and what it’s like growing up in the spotlight.

Jamie Foxx spoke on his daughter and her boyfriend in a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. “I told him no drugs, no sex until … never!” the 43-year-old actor/comedian/singer joked.

Foxx also explained how he’s protective over his daughter. He said, “Anybody that’s got daughters, you know. That’s your only one, you only got one chance at that. So I tell her to protect herself all the time.”

With a queen chess piece in his hand, rapper Wale, who is celebrating the release of his sophomore album “Ambition” this week, covers the latest issue of Rolling Out Magazine.

Inside the issue, the Maybach Music Group rapper talks about a number of topics, including why he signed with Rick Ross‘ new label and how that deal came about, what he wants his legacy in Hip-Hop to be, wanting to be an advocate for women and more.

Before the release of your first album, you built an impressive buzz for yourself. So what caused the album to fail to meet the high expectations?
I put that on myself to get back to where I need to be. We’re working. I do music for my fans and family. My fans appreciated my first album. But my label didn’t ship it for whatever reason. I re-evaluated my life and my situation and now I’m in a different place. I found out a lot of artists can’t go to a city and do a show with 2,000 people. I’m blessed to have people who appreciate what I do.

When did Rick Ross reach out to you?
The Maybach Music Group deal came about when I was a free agent. I look at Rick Ross as more than an artist. I didn’t sign to be a side kick, I want to be an artist and do what I’m capable of doing musically. Ross let’s me do that. He’s the boss at the label, but he’s not bossing me around.

So what is the biggest difference in being at MMG vs. being at Interscope?
The difference is freedom. I’m very in tune with urban culture. I felt my last situation wasn’t allowing me to grow with the urban culture. They saw a Lady Gaga opportunity and I went with it. I was a new artist and I didn’t get it. I thought I was being ignored by black America. It’s not as much money, but to connect with the people I grew up with is more important than connecting with pop fans. Even the white people who are familiar with my music deserve to hear what I’m really saying. I shouldn’t be marketed toward top 40. When I listen to my first album, you can hear who I am talking to. But I now have an opportunity to change that.

You have a lot of female fans. How important is it for you to balance the risque songs such as “No Hands” with inspirational tracks such as “Diary”?
I want to be an advocate for the women. I may say some wild things, but that’s our time to have fun. But I stand for fixing the world our way. Let’s add spice to this and change the world. I believe women should go to school to network with others who will change the world. I’m encouraging. I’m a part of the problem, but I want to be a part of the clean up. “No Hands” is the party and “Ambitious Girls” is the clean up. We can have fun, but I hope you’re getting up and going to class. I don’t want to get in the way of that. That [is] something you have to do. For two years, I had to walk around with about $15 in my account. That was my time. I left school and had to get on my grind. I was about 21. Now show me you can work the system for four or five years and continue to do your thing.

You caught flack from black women for not having dark-skinned females in your “Pretty Girls” video. How did that make you feel?
It wasn’t about that, but it showed me what I meant to the black culture. That made me realize that people hold me at a higher regard. That was when I knew I had to make a change. For “Pretty Girls,” I didn’t go on set until there were dark-skinned girls at the video shoot. I was waiting. The most horrible feeling in the world, was that my women think that I don’t care about them. I’d rather go broke than for my black women to think that I don’t care about them. I would rather lose everything than to have my queens think I’m turning my back on them. I was the only kid in my neighborhood with a father. And that’s because I’m African and they don’t divorce. It messed me up. When I was in Mississippi, a girl told me she had her first child at 16. So I made a song called “Illest B—- Alive.” There’s a special place in my heart for black girls. If you’re black and have a black mother, you know how special they are.

Beyond the physical, what is the most attractive thing about a woman?
I like girls who can get the intellect popping. Instead of liking me just because I rap, I like girls who can ask about where I was mentally when I thought of making a certain record. I can find a nice amount of girls who think I’m attractive or whatever, but intellect is very important. “Lotus Flower Bomb” was a record that I wanted to create a long time ago. I’m not sure if radio was ready for that at the time. That’s kind of an adult vibe. I was 23 when I was writing my first project. I was doing what I was told to do instead of doing what my heart told me to do.

What do you think people say about you as it relates to hip-hop?
I want my legacy to be that I was humble. I want people to know my heart more and more into every album. Know that I really stand for this culture and the people. Most of us know each other. Whenever people say there are only a few real dudes in this joint, I know that I’m one of them.
