“Basketball Wives” is a VH1 show that features eight women, not one of which is actually in a successful marriage to a basketball player. (However, to be fair, a few of them are in the middle of divorcing players, or former players).

The show features an episodic formula that, if narrated, always include something like this:

“Soo… we’re getting all the girls back together tonight because the last time we all had dinner, it got kind of out of hand.”

Cut to a scene of women, predominantly black women, yelling at each other, getting out of their seats, and eventually getting violent with one another.

“I don’t know what happened, but one second we were all eating dinner and someone said something about Tami, and before I could figure out what was going on, Tami was getting carried out by security.”

Tami. Tami Roman.

I generally don’t make a habit of singling out a person and putting the weight of the world’s issues squarely on their shoulders. Well, with the exception of Sarah Palin, but that’s a different story for a different person who shouldn’t be allowed in front of a camera.

But Tami, I’m putting the weight of what’s wrong with reality television on you. And Shaunie O’Neal. And VH1. (What can I say? I’m feeling generous.)

For those of you that don’t know, Tami Roman is a former MTV Real World-er from back when the show mattered.

According to her bio on VH1.com, “Roman left The Real World and started living in it.”

They refer to her has “an impact player,” which is a slight of hand way of referencing last season’s cat fight where Roman’s wrath was unleashed on cast member, Meeka Claxton.

Meeka is no longer on the show, probably because she was uncomfortable returning to a show that allowed her to be violently assaulted on camera, by none other than Banshee Tami (her new name).

While Roman is credited with having an acting career, heading a foundation for girls, and being a financial executive, the most interesting of her credits is probably her biggest responsibility… Roman is a parent.

In the most recent installment of the program, Banjee Tami is upset with fellow “basketball wife” (BBW) Kesha Nichols.

Nichols said something about Banshee Tami to someone else in the circle. Banshee Tami didn’t like that and decided to confront Kesha.

When she didn’t get the same level of angry response from Kesha, Tami escalates the situation by taking Kesha’s belongings, telling her that if she wanted them back she’d have to come get them from her.

Like a high school child, Roman goes on to rifle through the purse, read through the enclosed cell phone, and the like. She continues bullying Kesha until she eventually returns her things, only after having been reported to the authorities.

It baffles me… no, enrages… no, no… it bafflerages me that VH1 and Shaunie O’Neal can put this on television with a clear conscience.

Maybe they don’t have a clear conscience, but they definitely put this on TV. But I’m more extra-super curious how Tami watches her own show with her two daughters and discusses with them about their her behavior and decisions.

What does she say to them that would make them not want to go bully the other school kids, and treat them the way she’s treated other women on the show?

Here’s my problem: Women like Roman continue to perpetuate the image of black women as angry, violent, and altogether mean.

Even removing the black factor, Roman is the perfect example of a woman who, unfortunately, is a role model to young women, NOT by the virtue of her celebrity status on a television show, but because of the work she does in her private life with young girls.

Roman is the portrait of someone who needs professional help, much more than we’re aware that she’d received at the time of this episode’s airing. She has a voice and a platform that reaches millions every week and every week somehow displays like Monday night’s are the way she decides to use it.

I stopped watching the show before the premiere of the current season when I saw the promos for the return of the show for season four. It featured women yelling, arguing, climbing over tables and physically fighting with each other and I said I just wouldn’t watch.

I wasn’t alone, public figures and peers alike also had a similar response. Even reality television junkie, and friend in our heads, Wendy Williams said “no more.”

Tonight, at a friend’s house, the show happened to be on and before we could get 20 minutes in I had to get up leave the room because I was so irritated with what I was seeing and hearing. I couldn’t believe it was really playing out in front of me in high definition (and really well saturated color).

When will we stop allowing people like Tami and shows like Basketball Wives to depict the images and tell the stories of hate, anger, and violence as somehow being “real?” What is it going to take for us to say “enough is enough?”

VH1: shame. Shaunie O’Neal: shame. Tami Roman: double scoop of shame.

If you’re watching the show, stop. If you haven’t, don’t. If you’d never heard of it before, count your blessings.

But then again, what do I know?

PS: After the airing of the above mentioned episode Tami Roman posted an apology (below), Additionally, the victim of Roman’s wrath, Kesha Nichols decided to post a blog on bullying (also below, with a link to read the full thing).

Roman’s Apology: “I don’t apologize for it 2b accepted — that is ultimately the other person’s right to accept or deny it. My only responsibility is to acknowledge a mistake was made and own up to it. I apologize to my family, my REAL friends, my business colleagues, and my Project Girl ladies 4my recent behavior on BBW. I am NOT a bully as depicted on the show, but I did make poor decisions in handling my differences with my cast mate. I sincerely apologize to all of us, as well as to my castmate who was on the receiving end of my wrath.”

Nichols’ Post: “As a person who prides myself on turning lemons in lemonade, I had no idea how to turn the negative display of human behavior seen in Episode 12 into something positive, until now. Instead of knit picking, pointing fingers and calling names, I decided to educate myself on the issue at hand. My best friend called me the other day and we chatted for a good while; and just as we were getting off the phone he freaked that he’d not remembered to tell me about something.

“Oh my God, Jarrett. I’m pulling a yellow friend card, you have to stop what you’re doing and go watch this commercial right now.”

The pulling of a yellow friend card, the second only to a red friend card, told me that this must be serious. You only pull a card when it’s big, and you must warn the friend ahead of time. It’s the rule.

He told me to look up “Mary J. Blige Burger King commercial.” My skepticism now had a first name.

I stopped washing dishes, popped open my laptop and found Mary and Burger King’s slap in the face to the black community and the years of progress we’ve made in this country.

By the time the BK logo had surfaced I was an amalgam of enraged, offended, and maybe just a little bit hungry to try the new BK Snack Wrap.

Well… when I say “enraged,” I really mean “indifferent.” And when I say “offended” I mean, “I didn’t give two broke and busted f-words.”

The commercial, at it’s VERY BEST, is mildly entertaining. Mildly. But offensive? Are we (black people) kidding? This commercial is about as offensive as… I don’t know… something not-so offensive.

I was then taken aback by the coverage of ruffled feathers from the black community: Burger King pulling the ad from the airwaves, even Mary J. Blige having to come out and say something.

To be honest, I still am taken by it. Some will undoubtedly call my perspective on this pure naiveté, which is fine with me, but I’m still missing the issue.

Mary J Blige asks, "What's in the new chicken wrap!?" I ask "why is it a big deal!?"

If she were singing in black face, tap dancing in a bow tie, with a greasy grin and wearing a red polka-dotted head scarf, in her best Louis Armstrong voice … then MAYBE I could see some people having something to say.

But being enraged over MJB singing about “crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, fresh dressing, wrapped up in a tasty flour tortilla!?”

Girl. Get your money.

To be clear, I’m completely aware of the racial climate we live in. In a day where a black 17 year-old male can be shot and killed, and his attacker be more than a month removed from the incident and not near being brought to justice. With things like that in mind, there are definitely conversations about race that we need to be having.

When candidates for the highest office in the land talk about a “welfare president” and not wanting to give black people money, but give them jobs, as if black people are the exclusive beneficiaries of the assistance, there are some things that we need to be called into question.

When BET… never-mind.

Yes. We should be honest with ourselves that there are people with ideals that are not consistent with progress for everyone, us included.

Yes, we should own that as black people (or as women, or as members of the LGBT community, or any other underserved minority group) there are odds that are not always stacked in our favor; but focusing the bulk of our energy right there is not healthy.

Focusing just a little bit more on what makes us great, what deems us credible, what has always made us worthy, and moving forward with life seems to me a far more prudent avenue to travel.

We’ve all got to get over our comfortable attachment to our oppression. I’m sorry, we are all far to settled into being the underdog, preaching about our inopportune lineage, our history of being held back, up, and down; our skin tone’s inherent smack down of judgment and doom.

Many of us just recently heard Iyanla Vanzant on Oprah’s Lifeclass: the Tour on OWN talk about stopping our pain and, more importantly, getting rid of our addiction to our stories.

We so love to talk about how oppressed we are, that we will find any opportunity to feel put down by “the man.”

We’re like emotional cutters in that way. We begin to rely on our story of how we haven’t gotten over to justify our complacence with the status quo in our lives.

As black people, we were once property, then niggers, colored, negroes, black, now African-American.

Today one of us calls the world’s most well-known address his home.

The residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is occupied by a black man and his beautiful family. He is President.

And while his occupation of the office doesn’t mean that race is no longer an issue in this country – many of us argue it’s actually brought it to the surface more than ever – it is a glimmer of hope for what one of us can do, liberating us to aspire to greater heights for ourselves.

Obviously the president is an outlier, an exception to the common rule and I’m not asking us to go become president but I am asking us to observe what was possible for him and begin changing the way we look at and think about ourselves, and our propensity to prosper.

HOW I GOT HERE, TO THIS FEELING

Years ago I was in a discussion group with peers and the discussion turned to interviewing for jobs. Someone said something that struck me, having never heard the perspective before:

“When I walk into an interview, I already know I’m not going to get the job because I’m black.”

Call me sheltered, naïve, or simply ignorant, but until that moment I had never heard a perspective such as his.

I was so troubled, but I’d not anticipated that many other young black men in the group that would concur with the sentiment of the aforementioned gentlemen.

I’ve never, not a single time, walked into an interview or audition and anticipated not getting the job. Especially not because I was black.

I’m certainly not a person that comes from a privileged background. I wasn’t raised with a whole lot of anything.

God knows there were many people that lived far “better” and easier. But somehow our lives had shown us such starkly different opportunities to be treated one way or another.

Now, I’ve always walked into an interview pretty eager. I’m always confident in my capabilities, my resume, my ability to interview.

I don’t think I can ever recall a single time that I walked into an interview and even thought about the fact that I was black and that it would be a detrimental factor that I’d no real opportunity to influence.

Even today, years later, I still don’t walk into an interview worried that my skin will be my downfall.

I have, in recent years, taken more note of my standing out in a room where I may be one of very few people of color, if not the sole representative for the community.

But I don’t think “Damn, I guess I’m screwed,” I tend to think “I need to represent myself the very best I can.”

But for many of my brothers (and sisters, for that matter) in the community they’ve been mistreated, conditioned, and or beaten down by their skin’s hue, seemingly much more than I have.

I’m sure that experience influences one’s outlook when it comes to advancement, be it professionally, socially, or in many other paths of life.

Wiki defines the concept of a self-fulfilling prophecy as: “…a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behavior.”

After contemplating my generally positive disposition and some of my peers’ outlooks, I have to start to think about what responsibility we have for our success versus external oppression-based failure?

I get it. “The Man” has been busy at work trying to make sure that we (in whatever instance “we” is apropos) can’t make it in this country or the world, has oppressed us since before we had a chance to do anything about it. But how do WE contribute? What do WE do to perpetuate self-oppression?

There has to be some correlation between our relationship with our oppression and the comfortability and complacence in mediocrity that would allow us to say “I don’t have to work hard to do anything if I can stay held down & keep talking about being oppressed. I can sit here and amount to anything, because it’s the way it’s supposed to be.”

Going forward, if the intention of something we see is laced with malice, hate, and ignorance, let’s rise up; pull our red friend cards, and take our pitchforks to the light-up menus of our local fast-food chains.

Let’s be outraged, enraged, downright free-range mad.

But when the intention is Mary J. Blige and Burger King hoping to get you to bob your head, enjoy a commercial, and go buy something McDonald’s came up with three years ago, please, just take it in stride, have a breath, and move forward.

Every year, near the end of February, the world — or at least some of it — turns to Hollywood for its biggest night: The Academy Awards.

This year was no exception, with a show that’s controversy started months before the red carpet was laid, when the producer and host were abruptly pulled from the show, shocking insiders and fans alike.

Eddie Murphy’s title as host of the 84th presentation of the Oscars was short lived, as Billy Crystal became the new host after Murphy decided against going forward without his producing partner, Brett Ratner, who’d been ousted because of offensive comments made on a radio show.

This year’s show will undoubtedly be critiqued with as many disparaging words as positive ones. There were many moments to remember, from award winners accepting their gold Oscar, to moments on the red carpet that are memorable for reasons of fashion or just plain shock.

Here’s my take on the highlights of the show:

A Rhode Island native who shook up the teen-rap scene in 2008, Young Jinsu earned his nickname at the age of five.

It was his godfather who noticed the young Jah-Youth Lopez was dressing sharp as a knife, but as the aspiring rapper grew older, he preferred to think it was a reference to his lyrics.

After opening shows for Method Man, Wu-Tang Clan and even Diddy, 19-year-old Young Jinsu heated the internet up with his debut single, a teen-rap tale of heartbreak called “Me & You.”

Young Jinsu is currently working on what All Music Guide’s David Jeffries said will be “Drake’s ‘So Far Gone’ of 2012.”

If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past year, you should know that Mindless Behavior, comprised of teenagers Prodigy, Princeton, Roc Royal and Ray Ray, have collectively made the world stop and pay attention to what they’re doing as the biggest break-out R&B group of the new decade.

Known for their hit singles “My Girl” and “Mrs. Right,” and more recently “Girls Talkin Bout,” Mindless Behavior was put together in Los Angeles in 2008 by Keisha Gamble (who is still their manager today), Walter Millsap (who has previously worked with artists such as Beyonce and Timbaland) and producer Vincent Herbert (Lady Gaga, Toni Braxton) after an audition process.

They not only trained extensively in dance and singing, but also developed themselves as artists for two years before releasing their debut single “My Girl” in 2010. And within months, the teen R&B/Pop sensations (at only 13 years old) were already performing on big national TV shows like the “Today” show.

On September 20th 2011, Mindless Behavior released their debut album “#1 Girl,” which opened on the Billboard 200 album chart at an impressive No. 7.

Having already previously toured with major acts like Justin Bieber, the Backstreet Boys and even Janet Jackson (as her sole opening act), Mindless Behavior flexed their touring muscles once again this summer by headlining the first ever BET Closer to My Dreams Tour alongside fellow newcomers Diggy Simmons, Lil Twist, Tyga and others.

Now the group is headlining another major tour: the legendary “Scream Tour,” which has been regenerated with up and coming acts like their former BET tour-mate Diggy, Jacob Latimore, Hamilton Park and the OMG Girlz.

With the group continuing their journey to success, just before they hit the stage in Atlanta last week, the talented group of 14-year-olds took some time out of their hectic touring schedule to talk to Gossip On This about touring, girls, their favorite boy bands, how Michael Jackson and others inspire them, school, what they do in their free time when they’re not touring and making music, and more!

They don’t call it the “Scream Tour” for nothing.

From the time the first act hit the stage until the last act left the stage, nothing but screams filled the Fox Theater in Atlanta Sunday night (Oct 23) as the performers of “Scream Tour: The Next Generation” put on their show for the sold out crowd.

The Scream Tour helped launch the careers of acts like B2K, Bow Wow, Pretty Ricky and others … and the famous tour is back with a new lineup of upcoming R&B stars, including headliners Mindless Behavior and Diggy Simmons, and supporting acts Jacob Latimore, OMG Girlz and Hamilton Park.

First up was the only girl act, the OMG Girlz, following a brief introduction from the group’s founder, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, formerly of 90′s girl group Xscape, who told the girls (a la “Charlie’s Angels”) that their mission was to entertain the crowd.

The theme of their set was “Girls Who Run the World” and “Charlie’s Angels,” which was re-iterated by Tiny at the end when she told the girls that they had completed their mission.

Running through a set list that included songs like “Gucci This,” which every little girl in the crowd sang along to, the OMG Girlz put on a really good show, which was (almost) up-staged by a surprise guest appearance from rapper T.I., who introduced his rapper son G-Money Domani, which was also met by … you guessed it … SCREAMS.

Next up was ATL natives Hamilton Park, a new male R&B group spearheaded by music industry veteran Andre Harrell, and supported by Atlanta rapper/producer Jermaine Dupri. For a kids’ concert, their set almost felt out of place, with all of the sexual undertones and grinding on the microphone stand.

While we’re not really familiar with any of their music, the thousands of screaming fans in the audience clearly were. In fact, the screams were so loud, you could barely hear the music. The Boyz II men-like group was joined by Jermaine Dupri later on in their set during their performance of their latest single “Thing Called Us (Remix).”

After Hamilton Park exited the stage, the next act — R&B newcomer Jacob Latimore — hit the stage and put on a great show that included lots (and lots) of dancing. Good dancing too! Kind of reminded us of a young Usher, Chris Brown and Michael Jackson, all morphed into one.

Following a brief intermission came the concert’s first headlining act, Diggy Simmons, son of rap legend Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons of Run DMC and nephew of Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons.

As the only rapper on the roster, his set was the most unique, and he interacted with the fans a bit further than the rest of the acts by bringing up a young lady on stage to serenade her and give her flowers.

After the girl left the stage, Diggy occupied the seat that was originally brought out for her, and talked with the crowd about following your dreams and trying to live up to “Great Expectations,” one of his first street singles, which he then performed.

Soon after, the rap newcomer closed out his set by performing his most recent single “Copy, Paste” from his debut album, which he rapped along to with energy that rivaled the screaming crowd of tweens.

Following Diggy came the young men of the hour … Mindless Behavior! After being introduced by a short video montage, Prodigy, Princeton, Ray Ray and Roc Royal all popped out on stage, and were met with the biggest screams of the night.

And you would think that since MB didn’t hit the stage until around 9:30 that their young fans would be all tired out (it was a school night, after-all). But nope! The screams just continued as the four talented boys sang and danced their fashionable little butts off to their popular tracks “#1 Girl,” “Mrs. Right” and “My Girl,” the latter of which featured a surprise guest appearance from Ciara, who guests on the remixed version of the song.

Mindless Behavior’s 40-minute plus set also featured a guest appearance from fellow tour headliner Diggy, who joined the boys to perform their latest single “Mrs. Right” together.

All-in-all, the Scream Tour: Next Generation concert was a spectacle, especially when you consider the fact that all of the acts — minus Hamilton Park — are all teenagers who are just now really getting the chance to perform in front of large crowds for the first time.

The kids loved it, and we even spotted some of their adult chaperones dancing and singing along too, so that’s all that matters in the end. The crowd was pleased.

Okay, not ALL white people hate Chris Brown … just SOME white people.

After TMZ pointed out that the R&B singer recently said to an L.A. parking officer “y’all n**gas is gay” … other websites chimed in and started spewing hate towards him, which is pretty hypocritical in our humble lil’ ol’ opinion.

If they think it’s wrong for him to use “homophobic slurs” (and since when did the word GAY become a homophobic slur?) … we think it’s wrong for them to constantly pick apart every little thing he says and does. Plus, no one seemed to be offended with the use of the “N” word, right?

Chris Brown put the charms on a parking officer yesterday in L.A. — successfully dodging an expensive ticket — but in the process … he hurled another NASTY homophobic slur. Before sweet-talking the cop, Brown accused several cameramen of alerting parking enforcement officers that his car was illegally parked, ranting, “Y’all n**gas is weak. Did you all call them to try and film me? Y’ALL N**GAS IS GAY.”

It’s not the first time Brown publicly disparaged gay people. Back in December, the singer got into a Twitter feud with ex-B2K member Raz B … calling Raz a “homo” and a “d**k in da booty ass lil boy.”

Smells like another insincere apology is in the wind.

So later, Chris Brown apologized to anyone he may have offended … and as usual, it wasn’t nearly enough for (some) white people.

Chris Brown just lied through his teeth … tweeting that he has “total respect for [the] Gay community” after dropping another gay slur in L.A. yesterday.

He never apologizes … but instead writes a half-assed, dismissive explanation saying, “my intention was not to insult anyone.”

Listen to the way he hurls the word around — Chris clearly used the word “gay” as an insult … no two ways around it.

While being surrounded by paparazzi in Los Angeles yesterday, Brown said to the photogs “Y’all niggas is gay” as an insult or something. Ohhhhh brother. I guess this was better than”dick in da booty ass little boy” at least?

But still, you know what, Chris Brown? Why don’t you crawl inside this cardboard box I’ve set up here and then I’ll shut the lid on top of you and then I will mail you to Antarctica where you can rant at the snowy heavens all by yourself for the rest of time, thus leaving the rest of us free from having to deal with all of your dopey nonsense. If you get really lonely, maybe I’ll airmail Katy Perry there too, and you two can harmonize on “Ur So Gay” until the penguins come to enact their penguin vengeance. Does that sound like a fair proposal to you?

Today would have been Aaliyah‘s 32nd birthday. In her short time with us, Aaliyah helped redefine R&B and Hip-Hop in the 1990′s and early 2000′s, and left a permanent imprint on the industry as a whole.

Her second studio album One in a Million is credited as one of the most influential R&B albums of the 90′s. And with sales of over 8 million albums in the United States, along with an estimated 24 to 32 million albums worldwide, Aaliyah has been named the “Princess of R&B,” and made a name for herself with songs like “Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number,” “Back and Forth,” “One in a Million,” “We Need a Resolution” and more.

Last night, rapper T.I. and his wife Tiny were arrested after cops allegedly found a “small amount” of ecstasy pills in their Maybach. Now TMZ is saying that officials are “in the process” of determining whether or not they will revoke T.I.’s probation and send him back to prison to serve some “serious prison time.” T.I. was still on probation on weapons charges following a seven month stint in prison.

“The probation office is in the process of determining what happened and will make a recommendation regarding Mr. Harris when they have all the facts,” U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates told TMZ.

T.I.’s probation officer has asked him to return to Atlanta immediately.

It’s hard to believe, but MTV’s Jersey Shore is actually a hit!

For three straight weeks, “Jersey Shore,” now in its second season, was Thursday’s #1 telecast of the day among people aged 12-34 across all of television, according to data released by Nielsen last week.

Episode 203, which aired Thursday, August 12th 2010, saw 5.5 million total viewers and had a series high rating of 5.3 among people aged 12-34, making it the #1 telecast of 2010 for people in that age range.

…….BUT WHY?! Why on earth are almost 6 million people tuning in to watch this crap…..every week?!? Is it like paying $25 bucks to go to the zoo to watch monkeys swing around on trees and throw poop at each other or what?

If the name Drew Sidora sounds familiar it should, because she was on the hit sitcom “The Game” and played a major role in the big Derwin/Melanie break-up. She has also played in countless roles on television and not to mention on the big screen. Something you also might not know about her is that she is really a singer, as portrayed in her role on “The Game.”

In December 2008, Drew signed a recording contract with Slip-N-Side Records, which is home to hip-hop heavyweights Rick Ross, Trina and Plies, and Drew is the very first female pop act in the history of the independent Miami-based label. Now, in 2010, Drew Sidora is gearing up for the release of her debut album this fall and is now promoting one of the album’s lead singles “Juke It,” an infectious pop dance anthem that honors the culture and movement created in her hometown of Chicago.

Drake paid a visit to the Furman University campus in Greenville, SC last night (Thurs. Apr 22) to perform for his “Away From Home” Campus Consciousness college tour.

The Young Money rapper performed at Furman University’s Timmons Arena and Gossip On This was in the house as he performed series of hits from his recent collaborations like “Every Girl,” “BedRock,” “Money to Blow,” “I Invented Sex,“ “Say Something,” Successful” and more. The 23-year-old recording artist’s set also included a few tracks from his So Far So Gone mixtape and upcoming debut album, including “Best I Ever Had,” “Fireworks” and his latest single “Over,” which closed out his 75 minute show, which is a pretty good amount of time considering his album isn’t even out yet and more than half of his set only included songs he’s been featured in.

Drake opened the show with one of his break through tracks “Forever” and went into “Unstoppable” before formally introducing himself to crowd, filled with mostly young college-aged men and women, and the ladies who would shriek whenever he winked his eye or licked his lips. Or did both of them at the same time. At one point in the show, he brought one of these young women on to the stage for a quick dance/serenade. “You might get rubbed, you might get sucked on… licked on…” he said before picking a girl out of the audience.

Throughout the evening, the Lil Wayne protege, who announced “Free Weezy” several times in his set, let his fans know who he mostly catered to: the women. At several points throughout his show, he’d stop for a minute (or several minutes) and speak to the ladies telling them how beautiful they were and would feed them line after line, and it made them melt! Dude had these women at his beck and call; and we mean literally. Later, he brought out his “mic stand,” covered with panties from ladies who’ve thrown them on stage nights before and he literally gave the girls permission to add to the collection. And about 3 or 4 of them promptly followed through with Drizzy’s request.

Loyal Gossip On This reader Ulises sent over this video of Kelis performing at Club Plush in Dallas, TX Thursday night (Apr 8). Ulises, who is an aspiring musician himself, was able to meet Kelis and chop it up with her and her DJ for a bit.

Kelis performed last night here in Dallas and she killed it! She was sassy, fearless, beautiful and better than ever. Not only did she put on a great performance, she took pictures with fans and even danced with them after giving her spectacular show. Got an opportunity to meet her and her DJ. From talking to her and being around her, I was able to notice that she was very down to earth and cool. In conclusion, I had an amazing night. I smell a future collaboration between the two of us. =P

R&B singer Monica shut down the city of Greenville, South Carolina Friday night (Apr 2) as she performed at the 2010 107.3 Jamz White Party at the Carolina First Center, and Gossip On This was on location to capture all of the fun!

Mo took the crowd back with songs from ALL of her past albums, including the hits “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days),” “Why I Love You So Much,” “U Should’ve Known Better,” and “So Gone.” She even performed a couple of new tracks from her latest album Still Standing, including the new album’s title track “Still Standing” and her latest single “Everything to Me.”

The performance was off the chain and the crowd loved her! They were singing along to all of the songs and everything. At one point, she even put the mic to the audience and they sung to her. Greenville really does love Monica and we can’t wait for her to possibly  come back for her tour in the fall!

Well that was quick. GossipOnThis.com has exclusively learned that actress Tisha Campbell-Martin‘s sister (and allegedly Diamond Blue from Pretty Ricky‘s baby mama) Tiara gave birth to a baby girl Sunday night (Jan 24), about 4 months shy of her original due date. Her sister Toya reached out to us and gave us all of the details, saying that stress caused Tiara to develop a condition related to high blood pressure, which forced doctors to go in and take the baby out in order to save both her and the baby.

“While we were on a plane Sunday on our way to Los Angeles from Atlanta, Tiara had a headache and was very dizzy, so I felt her head and she had a fever,” Toya Campbell (another one of Tisha’s sisters) told Gossip On This exclusively. “So as soon as we got to LAX airport, Tiara was rushed to the hospital and the doctor said her temperature was 103.5 degrees and her blood pressure was really high,” she continued. “The doctor said they had to take the baby out right then because they both were at risk of dying.”

Doctors told Tiara and her family that “due to a combination of high blood pressure and stress,” she developed a serious condition that affects about 5% of pregnant women worldwide known as preeclampsia, which forced the doctors to take extreme measures and take the baby out via Caesarian section (or “c-section”),

Toya told us that despite the complications, both mom, 21, and the newborn baby are “doing great” and she and her family are thankful that both she and Tiara are alive.

Tisha Campbell’s husband, actor Duane Martin, reached out to Gossip On This exclusively last week and let us in on some information involving his sister-in-law and future niece. According to Martin himself, Tiara, Tisha’s 21-year-old sister, got into a relationship with Diamond “Baby Blue” Smith from Pretty Ricky and “one thing lead to another” and she got pregnant.

When Tiara contacted Blue about the situation, he constantly denied the baby being his and later ignored her phone calls. So she went into a state of depression and her brother-in-law Duane wasn’t having that.

“I’m a father, so if I have to blast him to make him become a father, then I will do just that,” Duane told us. “Tisha has five sisters and one brother and she cares for them very much, so to hear that her sister wants to abort the baby because she feels like she made a mistake hurts Tisha,” he continued. “When you mess with my wife or my family then I become upset, especially when I tried to reach out to him in the beginning, instead of taking it to the next level.”

Toya Campbell, 24, another one of Tisha’s younger sisters told us that Tiara stressed a lot during her entire 5 month pregnancy, which caused her to develop preeclampsia and the doctors had no choice but to terminate the pregnancy and try to save the baby in order to save both of their lives.

Toya and the rest of her family also wanted us to let people out there know this:

“To anybody who is stressing while they’re pregnant… Please don’t. Preeclampsia happened to [Tiara] and it can happen to anybody…”

We’re not 100% sure if Blue is the baby’s daddy or not but we wouldn’t be surprised if the DNA results revealed that he is.

Tiara and her family assure us that DNA testing will be done as soon as the baby is stable enough. And they said we’ll be the first to know when the results come back, so stay tuned!

Apparently Diamond Blue from Pretty Ricky is fielding questions from fans, followers and anyone else with an inquiring mind regarding his Maury Povich situation. If you’re not up to speed what’s going on, click here to catch up.

Basically, a girl who just so happens to be the sister of actress Tisha Campbell is alleging that Blue is the father of her baby. She says she knows 100% that the bun in her oven belongs to Blue, but Blue says he just isn’t having it. Not at least until the baby is born and a DNA test can be performed.

A couple of days ago, we told you about him running his mouth on Twitter. And now he’s at it again, admitting that he did hit it so he can’t “100% deny”. But he says he used a condom so he “can’t 100% deny it” …

GossipOnThis.com exclusively reported yesterday that Tisha Campbell-Martin’s younger sister Tiara was allegedly 5 months pregnant by Diamond Smith aka “Baby Blue” from the singing group Pretty Ricky. And she believes 100% that Blue is the father of the unborn baby. The problem is that Blue has been denying that he’s the father ever since she told him she was pregnant, and he’s at the point now where he’s not returning her or her family’s phone calls.

So Tisha’s husband Duane Martin (who is also an actor in the entertainment industry) reached out to us in hopes that word would get out, which Duane and the entire Campbell family hoped would make Blue step up to the plate and do what’s right.

So there you have it folks. The Campbells are saying that Blue is without a doubt the father of Tiara’s baby and Blue is saying that he isn’t. Guess we’ll have to wait until the baby is born so that a paternity test can be taken which will determine whether or not Blue is the daddy. See you in about 4 months!

There is some shady behavior going down. Gossip On This has learned that Diamond “Baby Blue” Smith of the singing group Pretty Ricky is on his way to becoming what we like to call a “dead beat dad!” Sources extremely close to the situation exclusively revealed to us exclusively that the young entertainer and actress Tisha Campbell-Martin‘s younger sister Tiara had been somewhat involved romantically in the past, and now she’s 5 months pregnant by him and is 110% positive that Baby Blue is most definitely, without any doubt, the father. But he refuses to take responsibility, and Tisha and her family, especially her husband, actor Duane Martin, are extremely pissed at the way he’s treating her so they reached out to us and dished all of the details.

“Last year in August, Tisha’s younger sister was with Diamond Blue from Pretty Ricky,” Duane Martin exclusively revealed to Gossip On This. “One thing lead to another and now she’s five months pregnant by him. I spoke to Blue in October and I would never imagine him being the way he is. He doesn’t call back, he doesn’t check on her and he’s also ignoring her phone calls. She and the family are really hurt by this.”

Diamond (yes, his real name is “Diamond”) and Tiara met a couple years back at an industry event in Atlanta, according to Toya Campbell, another one of Tisha’s sisters, so it’s not like she was a random groupie/jump-off or anything like that. The two have known each other for a while now.

Anyway, Tisha, who has a total of six siblings (five sisters and one brother), is very protective of her family and all she and the rest of her family wants is for Blue to own up to his responsibilities as a man and acknowledge that he is the father of Tiara’s unborn baby girl, who is due in May.

“I’m a father, so if I have to blast him to make him become a father, then I will do just that,” Duane told us. “Tisha has five sisters and one brother and she cares for them very much, so to hear that her sister wants to abort the baby because she feels like she made a mistake hurts Tisha,” he continued. “When you mess with my wife or my family then I become upset, especially when I tried to reach out to him in the beginning, instead of taking it to the next level.”

Duane also told us that Tiara isn’t doing this just to get a check from Blue or anything like that. She just wants him to accept their daughter and be a father.

“[Tiara] doesn’t need any money from him. She just needs a father for her child and I know any woman can relate to that,” the actor told us.

And what exactly were his motives for reaching out to us?

Gossip On This! was in the house last Thursday night (Sep 3) as Jamie Foxx took the stage at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC to perform for his “Blame It Tour.” Combining two of his best talents, comedy and music, Jamie Foxx’s show was far from disappointing, and despite the guy only having two studio albums to his name, he somehow managed to put on a 2 hour plus show, singing his biggest hits and some cuts from his latest album, Intuition.

The show opened with a medley of tracks from Intuition, including “I Don’t Need It,” “Number One,” and his latest single, “Digital Girl.” The crowd was hyped and he was just as energetic, even to the point where he almost threw that expensive yellow jacket into the crowd. But he pulled back, saying “F**k that sh*t! This jacket too damn expensive. We in a recession!” The crowd of course responded with laughter, which was a common occurrence that night. Having a stand-up comedian also perform in concert definitely had its perks.

The R&B crooner also performed some tracks from his debut album, Unpredictable, including “One Too Many Drinks,” “DJ Play A Love Song,” and of course, the album’s title track, “Unpredictable.”

At one point in the show, a picture of Michael Jackson appeared on the large screen above the stage, and Jamie had the crowd dancing and singing to some of the King of Pop’s biggest hits. That part of the concert, and the fact that Jamie wore a glove on one hand, showed how much of an MJ fan he was, which isn’t surprising at all. What entertainer isn’t an MJ fan?

After the MJ tribute, Jamie went on into more of his own songs and performed some of his collaboration tracks, like “Slow Jamz” (Twista & Kanye West), “Gold Digger” (Kanye West) and “She Got Her Own” (Ne-Yo & Fabolous) before ending the show with the chart-topping hit single, “Blame It.”

All-in-all, Jamie Foxx definitely put on a show and judging by the response from the mostly female crowd who didn’t want the show to end, Mr. Foxx has definitely secured his spot in the world of concert tours. This definitely will not be the last time we’ll see Jamie Foxx touring the nation. In fact, if he keeps it up, he might get the chance to the tour the entire world!

SHONIE GOSSIPONTHIS.COM SHOUT-OUT!

Hailing from Miami, Florida, Shonie, one of Def Jam’s newest signees, says she first wanted to be in the music industry when she was 11 years old. Even though she recorded her first song when she was a mere 9 years old, it was that first performance 2 years later that did it for her. And while you may not know exactly who Shonie is right now, given due time you will definitely remember her name.

Having worked with artists such as Trina, Danity Kane, Day 26, Flo Rida and more, she’s definitely had her foot in the door, if not her whole leg, long before signing her official contract with Slip-N-Slide Records.

Citing influences such as Betty White and Lauryn Hill, her sound is very eclectic and is definitely something the industry today needs. Be on the lookout for Shonie when she drops her debut album, titled Passionate Pieces of Me, later this year. Rumors are running rampant on the internet insisting that Jay-Z was the force behind Chris Brown not being able to pay homage to Michael Jackson at the 2009 BET Awards. A rapper just doesn’t have that kind of power. It was the BET execs, and more importantly the Viacom execs, who decided it wouldn’t be good for their “image” to let Chris Brown perform. Believe what and who you want to believe, but our sources can confirm that Jay-Z had NOTHING to do with Chris Brown being axed from the show at the very last minute.

BET needs to be ashamed of themselves for using Michael Jackson‘s name to hype up ratings. Because that’s EXACTLY what they did. If you didn’t catch the 2009 BET Awards, trust us … you didn’t miss much. The show was obviously thrown together at the last minute, and they should have left MJ’s name out of it if they weren’t going to deliver.

On Friday, via their official website, they put out a story saying that they would be “shifting gears” to honor Michael Jackson and his contributions to the world of music and the entire world in general. The final result? A sloppy mess that looks like it was put together in an AOL Instant Messenger chat room the day before. Now we’re not going to knock Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo for their tributes, because they were on point. And even Ciara did her thing too. But no one would have done a tribute like Chris Brown…

Chris Brown has been given the title as “the next Michael Jackson” ever since he first started “running it” back in 2005 with Juelz Santana. And he did the damn thing at the 2006 World Music Awards when he performed Thriller. Now, we all know he’s been through his bout with the media with the whole Rihanna thing, but unfortunately BET couldn’t put that aside for 5 minutes to honor the biggest name in music and entertainment.

“Chris Brown was supposed to open the show but BET executives were not agreeing to let Chris go on stage after they had already established that he was performing,” a source revealed to Gossip On This. “A lot of reports were saying that he was using this as a way to rebuild his image. So at the last minute, he was pulled. … After 3 days of rehearsal, they pulled Chris Brown from the show…”

Upon hearing the last-minute news of Chris Brown not opening the show, calls to BET were made and were not returned…

In a nutshell, Chris Brown found out Friday that BET had given him the green light to perform and open up the 2009 BET Awards, which would have been great! But BET listened to the media, who basically told them that Chris Brown was just using the show to rebuild his image, which is completely false. It’s a known fact that Chris Brown is a HUGE Michael Jackson fan, and Michael Jackson himself was a fan of Chris Brown. So he would have loved Chris to perform in honor of him.

So if you were wondering why Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo performed a billion times … that’s why. They were filling in for lost time. BET Networks should be ashamed of themselves and we hope the media drags them through the mud this week. Instead of looking out for Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, the King of MUSIC … BET decided to look out for themselves. And in the end, came out looking like fools.

Shame on you BET … shame on you! The VMAs are going to sh*t all over the BET Awards!!!

It’s no secret that young R&B/pop singer Chris Brown is a huge Michael Jackson fan. And the Virginia based entertainer, who has battled his own form of the media’s scrutiny just as his idol, has released an official statement exclusively to Gossip On This in the wake of the King of Pop’s surprising and untimely death.

Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer. I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy. My prayers are with his family. Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He’s the greatest… the best ever. No one will ever be better.

Gossip On This was on location Friday (May 29) night at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC at the Springfest 2009 concert. Atlanta rapper/Disturbing Tha Peace co-founder Ludacris was the headliner at the show and took the stage performing songs from his discography of seven hit albums. There were a few problems that went down backstage with the promoters of the show and Luda almost didn’t come out, but he’s all for the fans and did his thing on stage anyway! Luda has always been on our list of all-time favorite hip-hop artists and seeing him perform live, despite the drama with the show’s bootleg promotional team, just made him move up several pages in our book.

Gossip On This was in the house Thursday night (May 21st) as Keyshia Cole, The Dream, Keri Hilson and Bobby Valentino took the stage at the Fox Theater in Atlanta to perform their respective shows for the BET sponsored “A Different Me Tour.” Continue reading for a full review and to check out lots of exclusive pics, taken by our CEO/Editor-in-charge Dustin Gary!

Bobby Valentino came out first, performing “Tell Me,” “Anonymous,” “Slow Down,” “Them Jeans,” and his most recent hit “Beep.” In the middle of his performance, he took it back to the “old school” for a minute or two and at one point ripped his shirt off, jumped off the stage and ran up the center aisle to meet a group of hundreds (yes hundreds) of screaming women. Surprisingly, security didn’t really trip and he went back to the stage and finished his show with “Beep” and brought out ATLien Yung Joc to perform his verse.

Next up was singer/songwriter Keri Hilson, who opened up her show with her most recent single “Knock You Down.” She also performed “Energy,” got freaky with “Slow Dance,” took us back with “The Way I Are” and made sure to let everyone know who wrote Mary J Blige/Ludacris’ song “Runaway Love” and Mary J’s song “Take Me As I Am.” If you didn’t catch the hint … Ms. Keri Baby wrote them! And she sung her butt off performing them too, we can’t even hate.

Before she made her exit, she performed “Turnin’ Me On” and the ATL crowd went wild (that must be their favorite song). Next to Keyshia (we’ll get to her later) she was the best performer of the night! We were really surprised. The dancing and the singing were definitely on point so it’s safe to say Keri Hilson brought her “A” game.

After Keri exited the stage, The Dream came out to perform his show. And let’s just say … his album sounds much better. He’s not really a great live performer, so that’s definitely something he needs to work on for the future.

Anyway, he performed a pretty healthy mix of songs from his two albums Love vs. Money and Love/Hate, including “Shawty Is Da Sh*t,” “Falsetto,” “My Love,” and “Walking On The Moon.” He ended his set with the explosive hit “Rockin’ That Sh*t.” Again, the singing wasn’t really that great and his dancing was … “okay,” but he made up for it with hit hot backup dancers and of course his equally hot songs.

After The Dream was, of course, the headlining act … Keyshia Cole! She performed all of the hits from her three albums, including “I Should Have Cheated,” “Love,” “Let It Go,” “I Remember,” “Heaven Sent,” “You Complete Me,” “Playa Cardz Right” and “I Changed My Mind,” the song that introduced her to the world just 4 years ago back in the summer of 2005.

During her part of the show, she brought out her artist/friend Amina for “Shoulda Let You Go” and gave Amina a minute or two of solo stage time. Gyant from Gyant Unplugged was sitting right behind us and we were tripping at his comparison of her and Babs from Da Band (and Rah Digga lmao) … funny sh*t! Haha.

Later in her set, Keyshia took us back for a minute and did her verse from “Last Night” and also performed her most recent single, “Trust,” which features Atlanta native Monica who came out as a surprise guest. (Sidebar: We actually met Monica after the concert and we will definitely tell you that she is the coolest chick in the game and is so down to earth!) She also let her backup singers have a little solo time and let’s just say … had they had even more time, they would have definitely stole the show! One performed “Sweet Thing” and the other sang “Ain’t Nobody.” Needless to say, they surprised everyone in the crowd and had everybody on their feet giving them a standing ovation as they faded away back into the background.

Keyshia ended her show with “Make Me Over” and that was that. The end. Overall, the concert was really good … if you can get past The Dream not knowing his own choreography and his subpar singing. We love him as a songwriter and his songs are definitely hot … but someone needs to either get some vocal training or make use of backing vocals or something. But Bobby V was pretty good, Keri Hilson was damn good and Keyshia Cole did her thing just as the headliner should. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing her, along with Keri Hilson, perform live in the future!
