One of our favorite MCs, Kanye West, will we be the face of the February 2009 issue of VIBE Magazine. In the issue, Kanye talks about his recent incidents with the paparazzi and even talks about the album, 808s & Heartbreaks, of which he feels was his greatest yet. I personally don’t feel that 808s & Heartbreaks was better than Graduation but according to the issue, Kanye thinks otherwise.
Kanye Vents On The Paparazzi:
“I haven’t done anything violent. They make it seem like I actually went and hit the paparazzi. I haven’t. I was restrained. I’m good at restraining myself from committing violent acts. I know how to control my temper. That one paparazzo made it a bigger deal. I just put my hand up and he felt like he had more right to my personal space than I did. I put my hand up to stop him from shooting me.”
Kanye on 808s & Heartbreaks:
“I do think it’s my best album to date. No, I actually know this is my best album to date. Do I think it will be my best album ever? No, Ill improve. Do I think there are mistakes in it? Yes. There has to be. I’m a human being. But I think it surpasses Graduation. These 12 tracks are going to resonate more than any 12 tracks of any album this year.”

Bow Wow has just premiered his new music video to his latest single, “Roc Da Mic,” featuring Jermaine Dupri. The new track is definitely a banger! You usually don’t hear Bow Wow flow so smooth. Bow Wow’s upcoming album, New Jack City Pt. II, is set to be released in March 2009. Make sure you check out the video and tell us what you think!
The 2008 Finals was a great event in itself, but the final long awaited match-up between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics was nail biting, to say the least, until the final buzzer. The past rivalry between these two team is legendary. For the 11th time, they battled head to head for the championship title. Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce were known as the ‘Big Three’ all up against a one man stampede, Kobe Byrant. The Los Angeles Lakers showed their teamwork in the 2008 Finals, but the Celtics lead the series victoriously. Although the Boston Celtics took the 2008 Championship title, it was still very interesting watching every game they played against one another, making it the best moment in sports.
Bow Wow has released another video freestyling to Common’s “Universal Mind Control” instrumental. I must say, Bow Wow flow is getting nice. As a rapper, he may not be looked at as serious competition but people really need to pay attention to the man’s bars! Check out the video above.
Yung Berg has a new video for his single, “Outerspace,” from his latest album, Look What You Made Me. Yung Berg re-uses his auto-tune vocals on this new track and the beat is hot but I don’t think many people are paying attention to Yung Berg anymore, but I guess he’s still trying to stay relevant. I know many of you may have not heard of this girl named Natasha, but she had a very hot record that came out last year called “So Sick” featuring The Clipse. She really didn’t get any recognition for that record but she’s back with a new dance video. The name of her new single is titled “Sidekick.” You guys watch out for her. Check out her video above.
I just came across this dope Asian group called the Teriyaki Boyz. Apparently they have a single called “Work That” featuring Pharrell & Chris Brown. The beat and production is hot! Chris Brown wasn’t able to actually appear in the video but you do hear his vocals on the track. Check out the video above.
The rematch we’ve all been waiting for is finally here and under our christmas tree. My wish has come true. The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Boston Celtics at home in the Staples Center. It’s been a great Christmas in the NBA. The Lakers has ended the 19 straight game winning streak the Celtics once held, shattering their high record. The star of the game, Kobe Bryant finished with 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Lakers won by a 9 point lead (92-83). Sasha Vujajcic, who scored 10 points, claims he doesn’t like the Celtics … period.
“We’ve been waiting for that opportunity for a long time, and we won,” Vujacic said, “I don’t like them at all. A lot of people called us softies or whatever. It doesn’t matter at all. We know what we can do.”
Dwyane Wade brought real Christmas joy and hope to a local Miami family whose house had been accidentally torched by a South Florida woman’s nephew. Most, if not all, of their possessions were destroyed in the fire. Ironically, Wade, the Miami’s Heat Guard, decided he had to help this family out with not only shelter but a huge Christmas wish … a home. Along with the home, Wade furnished the house, replaced clothing and even a few gifts under the tree. Wade spoke about the teachings that can be greater than just materialism.
“That’s what I try to teach my kids,” Wade continued. “It’s not about what you’re going to receive – It’s what you can give others from what you’ve recieved.”
It’s always good to see that successful celebrities have huge bank accounts and even bigger hearts.
Kobe Bryant is back with another hot shoe and a hilarious commercial to match featuring some celebrity guests. Mike Epps and DJ AM make appearances in the new commercial. The shoe featured in this spot is also known as the Christmas Day iD which will be worn for the first time in the rematch against the Boston Celtics today, Christmas Day!
