On September 26th Jive/SonyBMG released Britney Spears‘ latest single “Womanizer” to radio worldwide, NYC’s Z100-FM was one of the first radio stations to official debut the single. “Womanizer” is produced by Atlanta-based producer The Outsyders for Spears’ sixth studio album following Blackout, entitled Circus. The song appears to be a mix of Spears’ early works such as “Stronger” and “Toxic” with its enticing sirens, catchy beat, anthem-like appeal. I think I can hear Keri Hilson in the background vocals, which leads me on to believe that maybe she penned this single.Circus in stores Winter 2008.

Singer-songwriter Lady GaGa is pop, electronica , r&b – she is everything! Currently signed to Akon’s label Kon Live, distributed via Interscope, LG releases her debut effort The Fame in stores and online October 28th in the US.

The singer’s “Fame-o-licious” album will include the leadingly energetic single that has been blazing up the charts the Red One-produced “Just Dance”! LG’s LP will also include the second single “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” and the latest single from the album “Poker Face”, one of my personal favorites.

The jazzy, bluesy singer Jazmine Sullivan debuts “Fearlessly” with her 2008 release under J Records, Fearless. The album’s preceded by the Missy Elliott-produced single “Need You Bad”, which exudes a nice soulful, reggae feel.

Fearless can cite a few inspirations from Lauryn Hill, Brandy, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, etc. – at least that’s who I heard listening to the album from personal experience since those are all some of my favorite artists. A lot of the tracks that can be heard on Fearless are very big sounding and jaunty as far as production and some lyrical content.

Sullivan’s rhythmic raspy voice and arrangements are like that pleasurable cream sweetner or voice added that semi-perfect coffee or song. Fearless is highly relatable, highly enjoyable, highly buyable in my honest opinion.

My standout tracks on this album would be Salaam Remi-produced “Bust Your Windows” (which is also slated to be the next single), “My Foolish Heart”, “Call Me Guilty”, “Live a Lie”, and the very Brandy influenced “After the Hurricane”; I don’t know why but in some parts in this song I can picture Young Jeezy in the background saying his trademarked “Aye!” Also, single material in my opinion. Fearless in stores now, p-p-p-pick it uuuup!

Music World Entertainment and Columbia Records will be releasing Beyonce’s third studio album on Tuesday, November 18th of this year.

Two lead singles from the international popstar’s yet-titled album — “If I Were A Boy” and “Single Ladies” (both which are co-written and co-produced by Beyonce) — are “scheduled” to impact all radio outlets and Internet simultaneously on October 7th.

In other related news, you can catch a taped airing of Beyonce’s performance at Radio City Hall for Fashion Rocks! set to air on CBS today at 9 PM (ET/PT). Please check your local program listings.

Here is official video premiere of “Right Here (Departed)” by R&B recording artist Brandy. The song is Brandy’s first single from her forthcoming project, which will be available in stores and online Nov. 11th, Human (Epic Records). The video, I’m not too crazy about it, the whole time watching it I was repeating to myself, “It’s about the music.” Being that said, Brandy looked flawless and I think the song as a single is catchy and relative in my opinion.

Even though this would be more so a cover I still decided to do Who Owns the Track? T-Pain’s single “Can’t Believe It” was growing on me but I think now JoJo made me like the song as a whole! Who Owns the Track?

“Numba 1 (Tide Is High)” will be a track included on reggae man Kardinal Offishall’s forthcoming album Not 4 Sale in stores Sept. 9th. Now, initially the track featured The Pussycat Dolls, but decided to use Rihanna instead I guess for that “island” feel. I actually kind of like The Pussycat Dolls’ version of the song better in my opinion. What do you guys think?

Pop culture correspondent Chris Connelly, of Good Morning America, recently spoke exclusively with The King of Pop, via phone conference, about his career, his children, and his destiny. And Connelly also talked with Michael about how he would celebrate turning the big 5-0!

I knew it would not be long before young music starlet Solange Knowles (aka Solange or Solo) got the chance to scholar in her own right with the new album appropriately entitled SoL-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (Music World Ent./Geffen). Featured guest appearances on this project, both composition and production, include Bama Boyz, Bilal, Mark Ronson, and The Neptunes to name just a few.

Hadley Dreams is a jazzy tune composed of soul and blues to last a lifetime; to give you a general idea, some of Hadley Dream’s tracks can cite old inspiration from Diana and The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis as far as production. Overall, Hadley Dreams is a bluesy, harmonic, melancholy — yet “When all is said and done, move on with stride“-type of record.

I think Solange has grown — not only as a singer — but also as a songwriter, it really shows, especially with the album Hadley Dreams; with sounds spouting from the 70s/80s, this album is like a groovy gem! I think Solange flourishes eclectically with this entire project and I am just so amazed of the talent spewing from this artist creatively as a whole.

My recommended track listens would have to be “T.O.N.Y.“, which is definite single material, “Would’ve Been the One“, “6′O Clock Blues“, “Dancing in the Dark“, “Valentines Day“, and the melodic “Cosmic Journey“.

The album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (Music World Ent./Geffen) will be available in stores August 26th and will include the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart-topping hit “I Decided” and “Sandcastle Disco“. Click Here To Listen To Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams!

Brandy’s official Web site was recently updated not too long ago with news, pictures, and other information regarding Brandy’s forthcoming album entitled Human (Epic) in stores November 11th! I am so loving everything about this project, I want Brandy to win so badly, she really is underrated. “Right Here (Departed)” is just … amazing! I swear I’ve played it over 400 times (iTunes does not lie) nonstop! This song is so beautiful, from the lyrics to the production and arrangements.

R&B songstress Brandy has returned with all new music, the Darkchild-produced “Right Here (Departed)” debuted on the singer’s Web site and MySpace page August 13th and is expected to make its way to radio stations later in the following weeks this month. “Right Here” would be the first single lifted from Brandy’s forthcoming yet-titled album, reportedly set to be released later on this year.

So far, response to “B-Rocka”’s latest material (”Right Here“) overall has been well-received all over the Internet on popular blog-type sites and messages forums due to it’s substantial crossover appeal. The song, however still recognizably Brandy in vocal arrangements, is whimsically crafted with urban edge. Brandy along with longtime collaborative partner Darkchild turns a rough beat and makes it their own. Brandy with her soft angelic tone and Darkchild fusing all the elements of pop, hip-hop and that classic R&B sound Brandy is known for citing her Never Say Never days, only this would be a more upbeat, modern day version sound.

The lyrics to “Right Here” itself are overwhelming and declarative, “When your tears have dried from cryin’ / And the world has turned to silence / When the clouds have all departed / You’ll be right here with me“. I also feel Brandy’s tone of conviction flourishes with “I will be there right beside you every step you take / I will be your strength, your shelter, shield you from the rain” leaving an euphoric shiver up and down your spine. Beautiful. I must have listened to this song well over 50 times!

So, Donnie Klang (along with Diddy) premiered his Ray Kay-directed video “Take You There” on FNMTV not to long ago. I just happen to catch it on TV, too! I loved the video and the single is hot as I’ve mentioned before, it’s very “Sexy Back“-equse. Sidenote: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME — I ‘ve officially exited my teen years (14-18) now at 19!

New music from T.I.’s forthcoming project! “Wish You Would” is pretty self-explanatory. I don’t know if it’ll be a single or not, but if so, this would be T.I. and Luda’s first collaboration on a single.

Meet LITTLE JACKIE, I recently got into this group via Vh1’s You Ought To Know. Their new song, “The World Should Revolve Around Me“, is basically about being okay working on yourself before you get into another relationship that you know won’t work out (SongMeanings.net); it can be heard on the group’s MySpace or as New York’s theme for her new show, New York Goes To Hollywood, which premieres tonight at 10PM (a little shameless promotion for Vh1). Solange recently posted a new song on her blog (Hadley Street Journal) called “Fuck The Industry (Signed Sincerely)”. Here’s what she had to say about why she wrote the song:

When I heard Kanye’s “Everything I Am” I instantly fell in love. I felt my story somewhere in his. I felt his frustration yet acceptance of who he was. So I decided to put my own little twist on it:)

She also disclaims on her blog that this song isn’t directed towards anyone specifically. And that she just basically felt like expressing herself and also felt that this song “could relate to everybody”. My favorite line is, “I’m not apologetic, if you don’t like it it’s probably because you don’t get it.” Woo, go Soloooo, I’ve been rockin with you since “Sky Away” and can’t wait for the album!

I like this song, I could do without Sean Garrett, though. I guess he was doing Luda a favor since he was on his single. But I hate Sean’s part, it might grow on me, but not anytime soon.

“Can’t Believe It” is slated to be the first single from T-Pain’s forthcoming album, Thr33 Ringz (Jive/Zomba) in stores this Fall. The song, as well as the rest of the tracks on the album, features production by T-Pain himself. Lil’ Wayne features as a guest appearance on this track as well as another that will make the album. As far as what I think of the track? I don’t know, I mean, it reeally has to grow on me eventually because the snap-music-Autotune-whining thing is getting repetitive (with other people copying him); though, it is his style and signature. I love T-Pain and Wayne but I think they can do better, but then again, what do I know? I only listened to this a couple times …

Flint police officers attempt to “crack down” on sagging pants by enforcing a dress code that requires all residents to wear their pants specifically at their waistline. Now, Chief Administrator of Flint’s PD, David Dicks believes pants sagging to be a “national nuisance,” he tells the Free Press. Dicks also thinks pants-sagging is “indecent exposure” and “disorderly conduct”; he wants to put an end to it once and for all. From now on, if you are caught violating this law, you will be subject to 93 days to a year in jail and/or $500 in fine payments.

In my opinion, I think this is both time wasting and unnecessary. Surely there must be greater and more important laws to enforce? To dictate how a person should wear their clothes inside their community, other than in a corporate setting, is an unjust and class-less law at best. Unless Flint PD plans on administrating belts, as ludicrous as that sounds, I do not see the saggy-pants thing going away anytime soon. To say pants-sagging is indecent and disorderly, that is your personal opinion, but it is not not right to speak for everyone as a consensus. And do not stuff your fundamental views or values down the throats of people who were raised differently than you or are in a completely different generation. If pants-sagging is not hurting anyone it is not disorderly; if pants-sagging is not suggesting anything lewd/sexual it is not indecent. I think that this is a perfect example of innocent citizens of these United States getting their rights stripped of them; this country is slowly but surely becoming a harsh dictatorship. Pretty soon there is going to more frivolous laws stating how you should look, dress, and appeal to standards. Oh, wait, there are laws like that already!

Or some magical pill that, if taken, manifests extraordinary celebrity power upon you in an amount of hours? Either way, the infomercial was really funny, so I thought I’d post it, he he.

NEW YORK // FRIDAY, JUNE 27TH » Here is R&B singer Trey Songz showing off his new cut; I must say that I dig it a lot!

This past Sunday (June 22nd), I had the opportunity to attend the “Art of Love” tour featuring Chrisette Michele and Raheem DeVaughn live from inside Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason center. The show started around 8PM and opened with Solange, she did about 3 or 4 songs from her forthcoming album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. Her performance was very Supreme era with a lot of attitude, “I feel good, I look good, but I broke my Goddamn toe!” exclaimed the soulful singer. If I had not already known about Solange breaking her toe (prior to that remark) I probably would have been shocked; she held her composer extremely well. I cannot remember but two songs I think I liked; they were “I Decided,” which was a song written by Pharrell Williams and Solange herself, and “T.O.N.Y.” an acronymic song Solange said meant “The Other Night Y”. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to meet Solange or interview her, but overall my experience with the show was fun! Also, Chrisette did an amazing job and was simply beautiful. Meanwhile, Raheem, by the way congrats on the BET J Award, commanded the stage! He had a painter in the background, Raheem was on the floor singing and crawling, running around the building — it was a performance. Raheem will really give your money’s worth. On this edition of “Who Owns the Track?” We have Jesse McCartney, whose album recently dropped, and Leona Lewis singing both their versions of the hit “Bleeding Love.” You know, I always thought that this song was meant for a boy and — though Leona did do the song some justice — I think I like Jesse’s version better!
