Once upon a time, Lady Gaga and blogger Perez Hilton were BFFs. Then, one day on Twitter, things got really real.

Perez Hilton was one of Lady Gaga’s early champions. He touted her music on his blog and lavished her every move with breathless praise and worship. In 2011, when Gaga unveiled her single “Born This Way,” this was Perez’s breathless and exclamation-point-filled “review.”

It’s finally arrived!!!!!!!!
An anthem for a new generation, Lady GaGa’s new single is birthed unto the world today – and it’s huge!
Upon first listen, you’ll be able to hear it’s a massive massive hit!
The first single off her upcoming album, out this May, Born This Way, is the dance diva you know and love about GaGa – but it’s also more.
It’s growth. It’s evolution.
It’s pop with depth!
It’s everything!!!!!

So yeah, Perez was unabashedly up Gaga’s ass.

But that was then, this is now. Sometime between Christmas 2012 and now, Perez and Gaga fell out something serious. And now, Gaga considers Perez to be a threat and a stalker.

In a series of tweets, some of which she has since deleted, Gaga lashed out at Hilton and openly bemoaned the dangerous threat he posed to her after a fan alerted her that Perez was apartment hunting in her apartment building.

Perez responded to Gaga’s tweets with an official statement:

I have long had plans to return to New York City more permanently. New York was my home for 6 years in the mid 90s, before I moved to Los Angeles. I also lived here for 3 months last year while doing an off Broadway show. I’m a new father and I am primarily focused on my family and where we will be most happy. I love New York and that is where me and my growing family want to call home right now.

Sunday, my realtor showed us a list of possible apartments to rent. I learned only after the fact that Lady GaGa lives in one of the buildings we looked at, and she was across the country in Los Angeles when I viewed that building. After a day of innocent house-hunting, I am devastated and my heart hurts that my former very good friend, a person I used to call my “wifey” and traveled the world with, is making very public and very untrue allegations about me on Twitter. While it is still too painful for me to go into detail about why I chose to no longer make her a part of my life, I will say that I am a critic and not a “stalker”.

Any allegation that I am stalking her, based on a day of house hunting with my baby boy and my mother, is utterly false, defamatory and now appears to be putting me and my family in danger. I will continue to be a critic – in a way that is not mean or involves name-calling, and I will continue to have an opinion and talk about music and songs, like GaGa’s “Applause”. I hope her fans stop sending me death threats, as the suggestion that I pose a danger to Lady GaGa is preposterous. If her fans want to send a message of support to Lady GaGa, they should buy her music. Notwithstanding my feelings about our personal relationship, I do wish Lady GaGa happiness and continued success and I assure you my family house hunting has nothing to do with her.

It didn’t stop there though, the two went back and forth on Twitter, with Perez accusing Gaga of being a drug addict and Gaga alleging that Perez sent her devastatingly cruel and psychotic text messages, including one that mocked her injury and showed Madonna pointing a gun at her.

Perez has been trying to hitch himself to the “Gaga’s fans are threatening my life” thing, as if his life is REALLY in danger. Fan bases are territorial and while they’ll lob venomous tweets and text, they won’t touch a neon-colored hair on that fool’s head. And he knows it. But he wants to play the victim, so he does this.

But Perez showed his true colors when he tweeted a list of Gaga’s victims, which included Gaga’s one-time producer and boyfriend Rob Fusari.

So today, Rob Fusari is a helpless victim of the evil queen Lady Gaga, but back in the day, when she was Perez’s BFF, he was “shiteous.” Perez insinuated that Fusari’s grievances against the singer were meritless and merely the byproduct of Gaga’s rise to fame.

You didn’t think GaGa would stand for her shiteous ex suing her for $30 mil, now did you?
Gagaloo’s lawyer filed legal docs stating the suit producer Rob Fusari brought against his client, saying he’s responsible for GaGa’s rise to fame, is “unlawful.”

The statement calls Fusari’s claim of his involvement in Team Love Child LLC was “structured in such a way as to mask its true purpose – to provide to the defendants unlawful compensation for their services as unlicensed employment agents.”

Gagloo’s lawyer also says Fusari and his company have breached all sorts of shiz by “acting as employment agents without a license and charging Lady Gaga an unlawful fee for their purported services.”

Lawsuits suck, but – that’s what happens when you become successful. And GaGa is very very successful!

I’m not saying that Gaga doesn’t use drugs. She already admitted to that in the past in interviews anyway. But Perez is clearly playing a game just as much as he says Gaga is. So he just sling mud and spare us the “woe is me” act.

Celebrity gossip is a filthy, dirty, drama-filled game. Don’t you love it?
