Here we go again. Lil’ Mama is out on the corner begging for a handout from more relevant and famous rappers.

In an interview with The Hollie Wood and Friends Show on Blog Talk Radio, Lil’ Mama spilled her guts about landing the role of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in the upcoming TLC biopic. The topic inevitably moved on to Lil’ Mama’s take on the state of female rappers. And whenever we talk about female rappers these days, Nicki Minaj’s name MUST be mentioned.

Necole Bitchie got the transcript from the interview, and according to Lil’ Mama, Nicki owes it to other female rappers to “put them on.”

It’s a lot of underground women who are trying to break through, but on a mainstream level the only person that I really hear on radio is Nicki Minaj. A lot of times I hear her say, “I do this for women” and “I’m doing this for all of us” while she’s accepting a BET Award, but other than that I don’t see her putting any other women on. I don’t see her on tracks with other women that are current. I don’t see her embracing any other women. I feel like its time for female MC’s to really start sticking together and start putting out some music.

Uh huh. Truth be told, it’s true that Nicki doesn’t rock with other female rappers on wax, but the truth should also be told that Lil’ Mama spent a good chunk of her time throwing shade at Nicki Minaj too.

Back in 2011, after Nicki Minaj made a guest appearance on Lil’ Mama’s last paying gig as host of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, Lil’ Mama ran her mouth and accused the Young Money femcee of stealing her style in an interview with VIBE.

Yeah, she was a guest on America’s Best Dance Crew and immediately afterwards, everywhere she went, she was wearing the haircut, the same exact way. But that doesn’t make me feel like ‘Oh she’s trying to be down’ like how I said about our culture. I’m actually flattered because she imitated me and it felt like something that I was doing was cute and in time for the fashion and for the season, so it’s like let’s live, let’s do it.

Right. So before Lil’ Mama begs for some of Nicki Minaj’s spotlight, she should try to cut down on her shade.
