In celebrity TMI news Holly Madison, who is expecting a baby girl sometime this month, has taken to her blog to let the world know that she plans on ingesting her placenta:
This might sound gross, but I’m totally planning on having my placenta turned into pills I can take after giving birth. I heard it helps women recover faster and I want to recover as quickly as I can!
Have any other moms out there done this?
Sure it’s a woman’s right to do what she pleases with her own placenta but does she have to let the world know about it? Gross!
Unfortunately for the world, the former Playmate isn’t the first celeb to publicly share her placenta-eating habits with an unsuspecting public.
“Mad Men” star January Jones (aka one of the most annoying people ever) also likes to nosh on baby placenta. Last March, she told People magazine, “I have a great doula who makes sure I’m eating well, with vitamins and teas, and with placenta capsulation.”
“Your placenta gets dehydrated and made into vitamins,” Jones added. “It’s something I was very hesitant about, but we’re the only mammals who don’t ingest our own placentas.”
And for good reason too. Have you ever seen one of those things?
