Paris Jackson Thinks She’s More Than Just Michael Jackson’s Daughter

Kids these days. They’re so quick to fast forward to adulthood.

Michael Jackson‘s daughter, Paris Jackson, is going full steam ahead with her acting career and she’s somehow convinced the editors at Glamour magazine to photograph and interview her.

In the interview, Paris laments that she’s only known for being Michael Jackson’s daughter because she feels the “title doesn’t fit her.”

Here’s the actual gem of a quote from lil’ Paris:

“I love my dad, and I’m proud to be his daughter. I just don’t think the title ‘M.J.’s daughter’ fits me. A lot of people think he’s the only reason I’m making it, but I want to show that I do have talent and that I can make it if I try. I want to be my own person.”

Huh?

Doesn’t she realize that the only reason anyone is even paying attention to her in the media is because of who her father was?

So she can use the platform that her family legacy grants her, but she’s mad that it’s all people know her for? She better sit on that bench next to the remaining members of 3T and get a reality check.

If we have to blame anyone for Paris’ ego, we should look at La Toya Jackson, one of Paris’ many aunts.

Apparently, Toy-Toy is all for Paris’ Hollywood dreams. Auntie Janet, however, is not so enthralled with Paris’ thirst for Tinsel Town.

“A lot of people don’t want me to do it [her aunt Janet Jackson has said, "She has the rest of her adult life to be that actress that she wants to be... Your childhood—you completely lose."], but Aunt La Toya believes in me. She heard me play a little guitar and sing, and she started clapping, ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ She really does encourage me; it’s just awesome of her.”

Paris needs to recognize that La Toya Jackson doesn’t have the good sense that the Lord gave her. Cause if she did, Toya wouldn’t look like this:

If Michael were here to see this, he’d be rolling over in his grave. He did his best to shield his children from the spotlight and here Paris goes running straight toward it.

Who the hell is driving Paris to these interviews and photo shoots? She’s 14!

Let that girl master algebra and the history of the World War II instead of fast-tracking her life on the Lindsay Lohan path to disaster and destruction.

    I think you missed the point of her statement. Why is her ego any bigger than anyone else of age 14 wanting to accomplish something whether it be gymnastics, acting or academics? She is saying that she wants to prove herself BEYOND being associated as MJ’s daughter. And of course she is old enough to know she has a leg up because of it–she is well aware of her family’s fame and recognition. MJ may have been opposed to her being a performer at her age because of his experience of feeling forced to do it to support his family, which he shared in interviews. In her case she is choosing to do it and will not have to have the financial pressure MJ did unless she wants to continue pursuing it.

    I couldn’t agree more with this article. And NO point missed. She is indeed recognized only and exclusively for being Michael Jackson’s daughter and the title fits absolutely. If she wanted somehow being “her own person” she shouldn’t have had to accept to be under the spotlight and waiting until she turned adult after studies like anyone does. She doesn’t want to be recognized for being Michael Jackson’s daughter but it’s ready to exploit him whanever she needs. Then to begin from the film she was chosen it’s clear that she has been chosen just because she is the daughter of Michael Jackson, and the director (loser) is a Larry King’s friend who in turn is a long-time Jackson family friend. She was chosen to allow him to finally put up his film as he did not even had the money to fund it for some year already. Now he has that money. She is clearly exploiting her being the daughter of Michael Jackson, but this until she complaints for being it. She just wants Michael Jackson’s fame, like all others, and this is impossible, because NO ONE will ever be like Michael Jackson and get his fame, he is unique and the world well-knows it. Also, all of a sudden after three years she posts nice pics and things about her father, as if she only now remembered to mourn him, only now that she has to do her film and needs to gain sympathy. She learned very soon how to exploit Michael Jackson, like all others. Michael Jackson did not raise her like that, to use some poor expedient to have some popularity, and would be horrified, and of course would have never allowed things like that happened. Really a very truthful article with the most important points stressed.

      But Michael never pushed her, always intended she could choose what she wanted to be but once adult. Making her have acting lessons and pushing her into showbiz is very different, and Michael never wanted this for none of his children. He raised her like a normal child, away from the spotlight as he wanted for her and her brothers a normal childhood.

    Wow. You completely missed the POINT of the article. Paris isn’t saying seh’s someone without her dad. She says she wants to make a name for herself despite being the child of a famous person. She has taken acting classes, and now she’s landed a role in a movie. I still think that has to do with her being Michael’s daughter, but look at who is influencing her at this point. Don’t take it out on a child for wanting to make her dad proud and do something with her life other than sit around and live off of her dad’s money.

      She is eager to burn the stopping places and she is doing it. Never an article hit the nail on the head like this. Everything she’s getting is just because she is Michael Jackson’s daughter and she accepts it willingly. She chose to be in the spotlight, not to make her dad proud but because she loves to be in the papers, just what Michael did not want for none of his children as he wanted them to have a normal childhood, then if they wanted to enter into showbiz he would have never impeded them, but without pushing them. He would be just horrified.

      Just because she gets attention for having a famous father doesn’t mean that she has to live in her father’s shadow for the rest of her life. I mean, Michael never said that he would prevent his children from going into acting or anything of that nature as children. Paris has lived a wonderful/tragic childhood and she has decided on her own to do this. This is her own choice and she understands the consequences of that choice because she had Michael as her father. She isn’t being beaten into it by Joe Jackson.

      I never said she has to live in her father’s shadow and not even Michael Jackson ever intented this for his children. Michael Jackson raised her out of the spotlight since he wanted her to have a normal childhood, not raising like a child star. Michael never said he would have impeded her to do what she wants to do but once adult. She is not old enough to decide what is better for her, to understand all the consequences from being such in the spotlight at a so young age, that’s one of the reason Michael protected her privacy, and also to allow her to be considered for her own qualities, but not being pushed and exploited for being his daughter. If she is not beaten by Joe she is surely pushed into showbiz by who is around her and this is not what Michael wanted.

    Samuel Johnson, i would have to agree with you o this one. i think she knows for a fact that she is not his biological child but she knows this is the father that raised her. since she and her brothers have been in living with grandma they are exposed to a different thing that i think michael would not approve of. on the outside looking in i notice one thing that she loves the attention she is getting right now. there is clearly no discipline going on in that house, it seems like they are given whatever they want just to keep them happy and not run to there attorneys. this is unlike Katherine who all of her kids said she never spoiled them growing up. that maybe the reason Katherine left cause she needed a break form the so called golden children.

      Raven they all are Michael Jackson’s biological children, he wanted to have his own children and he did it. No one is required to be the carbon copy of their own parents. I agree with you Katherine does not give them any discipline, on the other hand she did the same with her own children also.

      They are not from MJ that is not his sperm. Just because a black person bleach their skin to be white, remove their original hair get plastic surgery and all wont’ mean the kids won’t turn out black with black features, hair, lips etc. They look nothing like him. They look like the guy who gave the sperm. MJ was a brown skinned black man. The DNA code won’t change. People are so stupid. Sammy Sosa weird self hating ass bleached his skin white and permed his hair to be straight but his kids still came out black. He was just as dark as michael. Mj’s kids are pure white no drop of black in them.

      A lot of pathetic MJ fans believe anything if they said michael was an alien they will look for the planet and try to fly to it. People seem like non rational thinking grown kids. You can tell them anything and they believe it.

    Wow, finally an article that tells it like it is! First off, at 14, her guardian would have to agree to all interviews and photographs appearing in Glamour and any other mag that would have her. Her guardian, unfortunately, has always merely given in to the wants of her children, so is just following tradition, as KJ herself admitted on Oprah. While Paris may believe she is more than just “Michael Jackson’s daughter”, only time will tell if that’s the case, and she surely has been given enough opportunities by the Jacksons to market herself. At 14, she is really quite full of herself and more than likley has a rocky road ahead with no one to guide and protect her from the same evils that stalked her father.

      June: Paris is 14 years old. All 14 year old boys and girls are full of themselves. It’s to be human. Paris is actually quite experienced for her age. She just wants to be her own person and find herself (Something that most people do in college). I mean, if you had a famous father and the only reason why people hung out with you was because you were the daughter/son of that famous father, that would be very hurtful. Paris is just saying that she wants to be her own person/identity and not just an extension of her father’s fame (Lisa Marie Presley).

      Louis, there’s plenty of time for her to become her own person and I don’t agree that all 14 year old boys and girls are full of themselves. Paris says that because she is different she is not popular so doesn’t sound to me like many kids want to hang out with her. Becoming famous for fame itself isn’t the answer; as hard as it might be (and I do think she is smart) she should get her education, mature a bit more and then make her decisions. As I said in another post, someone has to sign for her to have interviews and her pix in all the headlines, so it’s obvious who is pushing her. She appears to gravitate to LaToya and those who have followed the Jacksons for many years remember what LaT had to say about Michael in the 90′s ……

      It was more of a joke generalization when I said that all teens are full of themselves. I’ve met some kids that would prove otherwise to that statement, yet I have to disagree. I mean, Paris lived with Michael and Michael must have had a discussion with her while they were doing their acting/school lessons about the consequences of fame. I mean, Paris, to me, seems like she knows what she wants to do with her life, yet still wants to find her own identity separate from her father’s identity. Acting, at this age, could be beneficial to her since it will provide her with experiences that will help her mature. I actually like La Toya. I mean, I don’t hold anything against her since she was forced to say those things in the 90′s by her abusive husband, Jack Gordon. It’s quite possible that she is trying to make up for her past by being supportive of Michael’s children since she had hurt Michael.

      I also have no problem with her doing interviews, since most of those interviews have been about her father. Her father is still a mystery and a sad person in the eyes of many ignorant people. Paris allows us to see though that Michael was just a normal human being, who also happened to be a good father.

    Who wrote this article? Poor spelling and bad grammar aside, the article appears to be written by one of Paris Jackson’s schoolmates. Since when is it such a tragedy to be a “child” star? The world has hundreds of thousands of them. Most grow up very well-adjusted. Many have an adult career. And since Paris is from a family where the favorite career-of-choice for her uncles, aunts, and many of her cousins is entertainment, it seems natural for her to gravitate towards it. It’s true Michael sheilded them from the public when they were younger, but remember, he was going to allow Prince to perform with him in London. Obviously, Paris is aware of this. And she has to be aware that Randy’s daughter Steveanna Jackson appeared on Zoey 101 as Tasha (same age as Paris), and did some modeling. None of this prevented her from graduating from Harvard. So let’s stop all this negativity and wish her the best. After all…she is Michael Jackson’s daughter.
