#7 – Jordan Burroughs: There’s a New Macho Man In Town

Wrestler Jordan Burroughs grew up idolizing WWE superstar “Macho Man” Randy Savage, but he’s creating his own legend now that he took home the Olympic gold in men’s freestyle 74-kilogram division in wrestling. It’s the country’s first medal in wrestling at these Games and it’s the first time an American has won in the event since Kurt Engle did so in 1996.

Even better is the fact that Burroughs is in for a huge payday, as his gold medal guarantees him $250,000 in cold, hard cash from the “Living the Dream” medal fund, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Coming from the very mean, tough streets of Camden, N.J., Burroughs’ story is a classic example of the American dream. Sometimes, all that glitters really is gold after all.

Speaking of gold, Burroughs has a thing for that precious medal. His Twitter handle is @alliseeisgold. Yeah, DJ Khaled needs to tap Jordan for an “All I Do Is Win” remix stat.
