13. Carmelo Anthony: From Basketball Player to Actor

New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony is perhaps best known to the world as La La’s husband. Okay, we’re kidding. But still, he’s a familiar face to those who don’t follow basketball thanks to his wife’s semi-famous status.

The two already have a grip on the small screen with La La’s VH1 reality shows, so why not take it to the next level?

Carmelo Anthony recently played a “professional basketball player” in the Showtime series “Nurse Jackie.” Yeah, the role isn’t a stretch, but it’s also really not interfering with his day job, so that’s good.

In fact, after the thorough mud stomping Team USA delivered to Nigeria in its 156-73 blowout, Carmelo’s work for the Games is pretty much done. He broke the world record for most points scored in an Olympic basketball game. Now that’s cray!

14. Aly Raisman: From Gymnast to Yoga

It’s not a stretch to say that Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman likes to spend a lot of time on the mat. And apparently that includes the yoga mat, as she confesses that “hot yoga” (bikram yoga) is one of her hobbies, according to USA Gymnastics.

Bikram yoga is essentially like doing yoga in a sauna. The room temperature is turned all the way up and the yoga students pretty much sweat out all of their internal organs. Supposedly, it’s quite detoxifying. Lady Gaga swears by it, so take what you will from that.
