Former daytime talk show host Ricky Lake secretly eloped with her fiance Christian Evans in southern California this past Easter Sunday (Apr 8).
The 43-year-old told People that leading up to her nuptials, “I wasn’t anxious or nervous. I was really relaxed and excited.”
Of her wedding, she said, “It was a beautiful moment I will never forget.”
Posting a picture of herself in her wedding gown on social networking site Twitter, the new Mrs. Evans excitedly gushed:
“Yup. This is me…. Sadie Sadie married lady. 🙂 🙂 Love is in the air. Xo”
Ricki Lake and Christian Evans made their romance official during a vacation in Spain where Evans proposed to the “Hairspray” star.
“It felt so right. At 43, I have a renewed sense of excitement about everything I do,” Ricki explained.
Prior to meeting her new husband, Ricki swore that she would never marry again after her divorce in 2003 from illustrator Rob Sussman. She admitted on her iVillage blog back in December that when it came to matters of the heart, she “was ready to throw in the towel.” That is, until she met Christian.
Luckily the tables have turned in her favor. “On my 42nd birthday, true love walked into my life, and I am not letting it out. The kindest, most caring spirit was just around the corner, and I could have missed the love of a lifetime,” she lovingly wrote.
