Beyonce and Jay-Z have released a joint statement officially confirming that Beyonce gave birth to a healthy baby girl named “Blue Ivy Carter” on Saturday (Jan 7), as we reported early Sunday morning.

“We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012,” the joint statement reads.

The usually private couple also provided a few intimate details surrounding the birth of their first child, including how she was delivered “naturally,” and not by C-section, as was reported by various media outlets this weekend.

The statement follows the release of Jay-Z’s new song Glory,” a dedication to Baby Blue that features a snippet of her voice apparently just moments after her birth.

Hello Hello Baby Blue!

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.

She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.

We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.

Beyonce first announced that she was expecting last year on August 28th at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, and since then, up until the very moment it was confirmed that she had given birth, nothing but speculation and curiosity has surrounded the singer and her pregnancy.

Now that Baby Blue Ivy is finally here, the world will have something new to talk about. (Or not, lol)

Congrats to the Carters (officially) on their new arrival!
