Essence Atkins got the best Christmas gift a mother could get……a healthy, newborn baby boy!
The “Are We There Yet?” actress gave birth on her exact due date, which was Sunday, December 25th.
She took to her Twitter account to share the wonderful news with her fans, tweeting, “…our 1st baby, a beautiful healthy boy, was born on Christmas Day!”
Essence and her husband Jaime Mendez reportedly named their newborn son Varro, which means “durable and strong.”
Varro is the first child for the couple, who married in September 2009 after meeting on Match.com.
Congrats to Essence and her husband on their new bundle of joy!
