There’s nothing wrong with what the uncle did, other than maybe embarrassing him, but he was simply trying to save the kid from that lifestyle. But it was most certainly not a “beating”, just a few whacks with a belt, over jeans. The people who wanted him prosecuted are absolutely pathetic…what has happened to this whiny ass “politically correct” society? @Pamela i 100% agree with you! the only problem is that the parent(s) will feel hurt if they gave their children a spanking and regret doing that only to know that what you was doing was right for your children and that you are trying set their mind straight hoping and praying that you will never continue this path, because they don’t want to see you in jail or dead.

I toast the uncle that tried to save his nephew. As far as Stacy Patton goes, you have it all wrong. The biggest problem with our youth today is that they are not spanked, and spanking your child is different from corporal punishment . You can not tell me that if I give my child a spanking that is corporal punishment. And I always wonder where these studies are conducted and who participants in them. I am 51 years old and I have 5 brothers and 1 sister, and my father beat our behinds when we did something we had no business doing. He would talk to us about it 2 times, but on the 3rd time, your toast. In this life that we live you have choices and consequences. What youth today need to be taught is that when you make the choices you have to pay the consequences for those choices. What these studies has done is make our youth think they can do whatever it is they want, because it is always someone, who more likely than not, does not have any children, but have all the good advice on how to raise them. Youth today really believe that their parents can not touch them. They act like they are the parents, but when they get in trouble the first thing everyone says is where are the parents. Abuse is one thing, discipline is totally different. Either we discipline our children while they are young, or the system will discipline them when they get older. The question is, which one would you prefer?
