Alicia Keys, with her supportive husband Swizz Beatz by her side, celebrated the opening night of her Broadway play “Stick Fly” Thursday night (Dec 8) at the Cort Theatre in New York City.

“Stick Fly,” an original story written by Lydia Diamond, directed by Kenny Leon and executive produced by Alicia Keys, explores parental expectations, sibling rivalry, and issues of class and race as it follows an upper class African American family vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard. Actor Mekhi Phifer stars in the play.

Guests at the big premiere last night were Taraji P. Henson, Spike Lee, Malik Yoba, Tracee Ellis Ross and others.
