The estimated numbers are in, and two of rap’s heavyweights are set to pull in the big numbers!

According to reports, it’s been estimated that Kanye West and Jay-Z’s joint album “Watch the Throne” is on its way to selling 500,000 copies in its opening week.

The album, which was released August 8th exclusively on iTunes, would become the second highest selling album this year, right behind Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” which opened to a little over 1 million units.

Billboard.com explains:

“Watch the Throne,” which miraculously didn’t leak to the Web as so many eagerly-awaited albums have over the years, is exclusive to iTunes until Friday, Aug. 12. That’s when all other retailers — physical and digital — will start selling “Watch.”

Of course, most brick-and-mortar retailers could opt to ignore the official street date and begin selling the CD as soon as they receive it, which may be as early as Wednesday.

Best Buy will receive the deluxe edition in stores from August 12-22, which will have creative artwork along with an additional 4 songs.
