It’s a sad time for the urban fashion world. According to recent reports, Jonas Bevacqua (the co-founder of LRG) was found dead early Tuesday (May 31) in Los Angeles at his Laguna Beach home. He was only 34 years old.

An autopsy performed yesterday failed to determine a cause of death for Bevacqua, and now county medical officials are waiting for the results of a toxicology test and other lab studies to find out exactly what happened.

Jonas Bevacqua co-founded LRG with Robert Wright back in 1999, and within a year, the company was an established brand that was raking in millions of dollars in profit. After reporting 2006 sales figures at around $150 million, LRG, which is an acronym for “Lifted Research Group,” was ranked #5 on Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2007 Hot 500 list of fastest-growing companies.

Upon hearing of his best friend’s death, Robert Wright tweeted Tuesday:

“woke up at 8am to the worst news I’ve heard in my lifetime…my best man”

RIP 🙁
