This year has been quite the tumultuous year for stunning Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, whose husband Michael Douglas recently battled (and recovered from) throat cancer. And this past Wednesday, the actress’s rep confirmed that she has indeed checked into a mental health facility.

“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay,” her rep said in a statement this week. “She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”

The Academy Award-winning actress is seeking treatment for Bipolar II disorder, which is characterized by mood swings ranging from hypo-mania (a period of elevated euphoria or irritability) to depression.

We wish her the best of luck and a speedy recovery.
