After a seven-year hiatus from the wrestling ring, “The Rock” has returned!
The former wrestler, who now makes his money as Dwayne Johnson the actor, made his big return to wrestling Monday night (Feb 14) on “WWE Raw” where he was announced as the host of the upcoming Wrestlemania 27 (as we reported yesterday). The match, scheduled for April 3rd, will be held in Atlanta and serves as Johnson’s first Wrestlemania appearance since 2004.
“You helped me accomplish my goals, helped me accomplish my dreams because you never lost my side,” Johnson told the crowd last night. Thank you, I love you, and it is because of you that I’m back in this ring and it’s because of you, and I give you my word, that I am never, ever, going away.”
Johnson also thanked his fans for supporting him as he pursued a career in the movie industry, telling them: “After seven long years … finally The Rock has come back home.”
