Move over Eminem (and Rihanna)!
Pop singer Katy Perry‘s second single “Teenage Dream” has taken over the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, putting Eminem’s hit single featuring Rihanna “Love the Way You Lie” at #2.
“California Gurls,” Perry’s first single for her new album (also titled Teenage Dream), also spent some time at #1 on the Hot 100 (6 weeks to be exact) at the beginning of the summer and now Perry is enjoying the same feat as fall nears, making her the second female artist to have back-to-back #1s! (The last female artist to have back-to-back #1 singles on the Hot 100 was Lady Gaga with “Just Dance” and “Poker Face” in 2009)
Katy Perry, who is engaged to Russell Brand and is currently planning a wedding in addition to promoting her new album, will be the musical guest for Saturday Night Live‘s upcoming 36th season premiere near the end of this month (Sep 25).
