Actress January Jones has reportedly signed on to play a beautiful mutant with telepathic powers in the latest movie in the “X-Men” franchise, “X-Men: First Class.” The 32-year-old “Mad Men” actress will play Emma Frost, who was first introduced in last year’s “X-Men: Origin: Wolverine” and was portrayed by another actress, Tahyna Tozzi.

Kevin Bacon (mysterious villain), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Oliver Platt (The Man in Black), Zoe Kravitz (Angel) and others are also set to be apart of the movie’s large ensemble cast for the film, which is set to begin shooting next Monday (Aug 23) in London. It’s scheduled to be released sometime in 2011.

January Jones is currently nominated for an Emmy Award in the category for “Best Actress in a Drama Series” thanks to her role as Betty Draper on Mad Men.
