Samuel L. Jackson surprised over 6,000 Comic-Con goers attending a Marvel Studios presentation over the weekend (Sat. Jul 24) when the award-winning actor announced the cast of the upcoming “Avengers” film!

Just as the presentation was ending, Jackson stepped to the side and brought out movie stars Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth of “Thor” and Chris Evans from “Captain America.” He then introduced another surprise guest Robert Downey Jr. who brought of the rest of the all-star cast, which includes Jeremy Renner as “Hawkeye” and Mark Ruffalo as “Bruce Banner.”

“The Avengers” is based on the comic book series of the same name, which brings various Marvel superheroes together, and is due in theaters sometime in 2012.
