“Hot in Cleveland” is so Good that it Has Been Renewed for a Second Season Already!

Can’t get enough of Betty White? Good, because her new show “Hot in Cleveland” has been renewed for a second season after just three episodes have aired. TV Land has ordered 20 episodes for the next season, which is slated to begin production in October of this year and start airing in January 2011.

White originally signed on to the show as a guest star but thanks to her recent boost in popularity and relevancy, the former “Golden Girls” actress will return in Season 2 as a series regular alongside actresses Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.

“Hot In Cleveland” (TV Land’s very first original series) premiered to nearly 5 million viewers on June 16th making it the network’s most watched telecast ever. The sitcom airs Wednesday nights at 10/9c.

    I absolutely adore “Hot In Cleveland!! ” The casting is a stroke of genius and the writing is brilliant. !! Kudos on such a great show that reflects realities encounted by woman over 35. Valerie Bertinelli, Wendy Malick, Jane Leeves and Betty White are a splendid combo . Hats off!!

    What????? This show is terrible. It simply is NOT funny. Take another look at ‘The Golden Girls’ or ‘Seinfeld’..or even ‘King of Queens’ and tell me this new Bertinelli vehicle can compare in any way to the excellent writing of those shows. And having an 88 year old woman spewing all that sexual inuendo shtick is not believable.
    No wonder an imbecile like Obama could be elected president. You people don’t even know what comedy is anymore.

    The show is campy and fun. Its not meant to be a regular comedy , don’t sweat the small stuff , its fun to watch and their guest stars are always an added bonus. Good going TV LAND !

    Too Hot in Cleveland; sitcom with Betty White, Dorothy and her son Mickey. Mickey drives a green mustang convertible (this was well-before the recalled Toyota shakedown) LeBron leaves and so do the Russian spies…all except Natasha, who lives in Shaker Heights with Rocky the squirrel the paymaster skips to Greece George Stephanopolous remembers his roots and the studio gets exposed for trying to cash in on someone else;s identity Mickey returns to his old High School and finds his high school girlfriend Debbie has reincarnated as a Japanese comic (if you good readers will notice in episode 5, Good Neighbors, Victoria gets hired to do a Japanese commercial…see how they circumnavigate the real story) The story has a happy ending because the sitcom hires Mickey and writes him a paycheck so he can take Debbie, oops I mean his Japanese girlfriend,on a proper honeymoon,. In the meantime, Charlene, Debbie;s good friend, is totally baffled and decides to take a ride with Marc Schwartz in his purple 427 Corvette. They end up at club 221 where Simon and Garfunkel are performing their new hit, I am a rock. afterwards they go to Big Boy and drink a frozen Ghoulardi out of 5ft straw…to be continued

    I LOVE “Hot In Cleveland”. I can hardly wait for Wed. nights to roll around! One of the BEST comedies in a LONG time! Love ALL the women….especially Ms. White!!

    Thank goodness for this NEWS.!!!! Betty White has always been a great ACTRESS and deserves the best. When I think of her I also think of ALLEN LUDDEN. What a pair !!! I also loved her in the Golden Girls, now !! ” that was a series “. Had four of the greatest people that really knew how to warm the hearts of everyone.

    I think this show is crap. To the person who commented Betty White playing the sexually frivolous one is true. She isn’t funny, just sounds stupid. Women in their 40s and 50′s have jobs and don’t focus on sex 24 hours a day. If you want to bring Bam Bam and his dumb ears into this, go ahead, that’s real humor. Electing a monkey.

    I absolutely LOVE this show! I think all the actresses, especially Ms. White, are brilliant together! And as for all of you haters out there, keep your unwanted comments to yourself! Although I do agree with the Obama comment… :)

    It’s great to see these great comedic actresses back on the screen. Jane Leeves I’ve been in love with since I first saw her on Benny Hill. Betty White will be like Bob Hope she’ll keep doing shows till she’s a 100. It’s a great cast and I’m looking forward to seeing more shows.

    I think the new sitcom “Hot in Cleveland ” is funny ! Sure you can say that for an 88 yr. old woman to say a few of the things she says is kind of “out of character”, but look at the times how they have changed. I am so glad to see Betty White employeed most women at her age have already been tossed into retirement. It is a distant look at the Golden Girls, with them being a little younger. And Betty, playing the Sophia role. I loved it with John Schneider too. I hope they bring him back for another episode. I love it, I think it will be around for 3 yrs. Let’s see. I even think CBS and ABC wish they would have picked it up. With 5 million viewers, the first night avg. 2,9 mill. now. Congrats to all the women. It is nice to see women in their 50′s doing so well!!!!!!! If you don’t like it don’t watch it, and it will not bother you. Goodnight !!

    I love the show. It’s a pretty generic sitcom, but I love VB and WM. And that Betty White….so funny. Jane Leaves has surprised me with her comic timing, something she didn’t get to showcase previously (IMHO). And her legs are great! Do it ladies.

    The amount of times TV Land obnoxiously and arrogantly shoves this sitcom down people’s throats, you would think you’d be tuning into the greatest thing on TV, that’s how many people make it sound anyway, but that’s not the case.. and says a lot about them. Betty White is not a goddess, not everything that comes out of her mouth is funny (specially when trying to sound ghetto saying she has game..? please) she doesn’t breath any life into this atrocity, and redemption is nowhere to found when it comes to the other 3 beasts who spew their lines in a flat, unconvincing manner. The one with the annoying accent sounds constipated when she speaks. The one who was sporting that dumb looking hat on the plane really needs to be.. inconspicuous. The one who was the spokeswoman for Jenny Craig uttering.. TO CLEVELAND! doesn’t sound as if she would cheer up the place for losing LeBron.. instead you’d wanna smack her and tell her to shut her hole. There are plenty of folks who seem to get their panties in a twist if others express their dislike for this show, I guess there is some humor to be found after all.

    Also, this show is nauseatingly overrated. They pump the commercials for it up your ass every 5 seconds. But, I guess they are going for a certain demographic, so in that respect it is quite successful. But the show really isn’t appealing to a very broad range of viewers, just women over 40.
