The chatter of who may replace Simon Cowell on American Idol continues. Earlier today, we told you about Def Jam head honcho L.A. Reid being in the runnings for the coveted position and now hip-hop mogul Diddy, who has his own street cred in the industry, has expressed some interest in the position… if the price is right, that is. Here’s what he told MTV:

“I have been fronting all this time, trying to act like I don’t want that spot. [But] I spoke to Simon’s business manager, and I found out how much boy makes a week. I am praying right now to ‘American Idol. I want everybody to get on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and say that Diddy should get the Simon spot — but for the same amount of money that Simon was getting, else it’s a deal-breaker,”

As you can see, the producers of Idol have some great replacement options. As we told you guys previously, possible replacements include Howard Stern, Usher, L.A. Reid, and now Diddy. Who would you pick?
