Actor Laz Alonso, who played Tsu’tey in the hit movie “Avatar” is JET Magazine‘s cover guy for their March 8th 2010 issue, which hit stands this past Friday (Feb 26).

Starring in the highest grossing movie of all time is a pretty big accomplishment for most, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Avatar’s Laz Alonso. He has his eye on snagging a role that will really put his name on the map. In an exclusive Jet photo shoot and interview, this D.C.-born talent tells readers about his leading role in Breakout Kings, a drama he described as an updated version of The Fugitive. If picked up, it could possibly air on Fox this fall. “I think that once people see me as a lead, that’s when they’re really going to see what I can do on film,” he said. I have had a lot of supporting roles and even in a lot of cases where I’ve had to make lemonade out of lemons.” (p. 28)
