Beyonce will no longer be known as “Beyonce Knowles” due to her adopting her husband Jay-Z’s surname, which is “Carter.” But there’s a catch to it. Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter) is taking her name too!
A source told OK! Magazine that Beyonce was changing her name to Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Jay-Z would be changing his to Sean Knowles-Carter in order to keep the Knowles name alive since her parents didn’t have any boys.
A source revealed: “They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves.”
