Check out pop singer Lady Gaga‘s new David LaChapelle photo shoot and the shot above with Gaga’s good friend, rapper Kanye West. Our homie Necole Bitchie posted these today and we have to kind of agree with what she said about the pics:

I get the artistic vision behind this shoot … However, I couldn’t help but wonder if I would still “get it” if it was one of her R&B counterparts (i.e. Beyonce, Rihanna) …And maybe I ask that because the Rihanna’s and Beyonce’s of the world are always criticized when wearing something a bit racy (or next to nothing), however the Lady Gaga’s of the world are admired for pushing the envelope. Aren’t they all pushing the same envelope? Double standard much? Dope shoot though

She’s got a point right? Just imagine if Lady Gaga were Nicki Minaj and Kanye West were Lil Wayne, which would look hella dope too but you already know folks would have some ish to say just ’cause Nicki’s a brown girl. SMH…

In related news, MTV has named the Lady we call Gaga their “Woman of the Year” for the year 2009, which is nuts considering no one even knew what a Lady Gaga was about a year and a half ago.
