Tinker Bell, most known as the fairy in Peter Pan, was named the “Honorary Ambassador of Green” by the United Nations (UN) and actress Raven Symone was on hand to celebrate the occasion.

Raven plays a character named “Iridessa” in the new “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” DVD, which was released to stores today. In a recent interview, she spoke about the new movie and how this particular Tinker Bell story is directed at boys as well as girls:

The underlying story of friendship is universal. And it really is a story that appeals to everyone, boys and girls and young and older. There is a great boy character, Terence [voice of Jesse McCartney]. And Tinker Bell is really a guy’s girl, a best friend, not overly tomboy but very adventuresome. She is also humble and she messes up — she’s a normal person with wings!
