Monica and Others Help Bill Gates Launch The “Get Schooled” Program in Los Angeles

Bill(ionaire) Gates called on R&B singer Monica to help celebrate the launch of his “Get Schooled” program, a nationwide initiative to help students, families and community members to join forces to improve America’s public education system and encourage young people to complete their education. The program was co-developed by media giant Viacom and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In addition to Mo, stars like Morgan Freeman, Seal, Heidi Klum, Kevin Liles and BET’s Debra Lee all came out to support the event, which included a block party and concert where over 400 Los Angeles area public school students, parents, teachers and school administrators attended.

It’s cool to see someone like Gates devote himself full time to real world charities and worthwhile ventures, when he could have just raked it in with Microsoft forever if he so desired.
