It has been less than 36 hours since the newest installment from the billion dollar Harry Potter franchise hit theaters and it is already breaking records. It is even being reported that by the end of the month, it will surpass Bond as the number one movie franchise. It’s no doubt that these movies are brilliantly made…but is the hype for “Half-Blood Prince” over the top?

The first five Harry Potter films have had the feeling that there is something bigger to come and that a final battle is somewhere in the near future, waiting to happen. “Prince” isn’t any different. Lord Voldemort is back and his henchmen of Death Eaters are acting as terrorists, attacking both Wizards and Muggles alike. Starting the film with the destruction of the Millennium Bridge sets a sudden mood over the audience and makes it clear that the Wizarding World is at war. Harry returns to the school to find that headmaster Albus Dumbledore has a new task for him. A task that, if accomplished, will bring Voldemort one-step closer to his downfall. Traveling through a series of memories, Harry and Dumbledore step into the past to get a better glimpse at the boy Voldemort, also known as Tom Riddle.

Nia Long covers July 2009 Pride MagazineActress Nia Long wants entertainers to stay in their lane. If you’re a singer, you should sing. If you’re an actress, you should act. No need in double dipping in the industry to get more stacks in your account. Her thoughts, not ours!

In a recent interview with the U.K. based Pride Magazine, the 38-year-old Brooklyn native had this to say about Beyonce’s acting skills:

“I didn’t see ‘Obsessed,’ so I can’t comment, but it’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate?’ When you see certain people – we won’t name names – they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes.’”

[MUSIC VIDEO] Mariah Carey - "Obsessed"

Here’s the official video for “Obsessed,” Mariah Carey’s debut single from her forthcoming Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel album, set for release next month on August 25th. In the video, Mariah is being followed around by someone who looks a lot like Eminem. We posted the photos of her on the set a couple of weeks ago. But her husband Nick Cannon says he isn’t sure why people think the song/video is a diss to Em and that the song was inspired by the movie “Mean Girls.”

“I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t think so,” Cannon told MTV News when asked if the song is about the rapper, who seemingly took a jab at Carey in his song, ‘Bagpipes From Baghdad.’ I don’t think that she would take her time. My wife doesn’t beef. She’s Mariah Carey. She’s not beefin’, she’s a vegetarian. People keep saying ['Obsessed'] was directed at certain people. To be completely honest, she did the record ’cause she’s a huge fan of this movie ‘Mean Girls,’ and there’s a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, ‘Why are you so obsessed with me?’ She says that at the beginning of the song, and that’s where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life.”
