During the filming of a Pepsi Commercial way back in 1984, Michael Jackson’s hair caught fire due to a glitch in the pyrotechnics. The event has been parodied in music videos (Eminem) and comedy films, and we caught a re-enactment of it in the Jackson movie, The Jacksons: An American Dream. T.I. recently premiered the video for his duet with Mary J. Blige, “Remember Me,” a song that was supposed to be featured on the Atlanta rapper’s upcoming Paper Trail album re-release titled Paper Trail: Case Closed. But according to MTV, that re-release will not be happening as it has been shelved indefinitely by Atlantic Records.

Though no reason for the album being scrapped was given, a spokesperson for the label said that “the re-release is definitely not happening” and that they plan to release the new songs digitally.

The British paparazzi caught a glimpse of R&B singer/songwriter Keri Hilson leaving the Landmark hotel rocking a silver jacket and a pair of bright yellow pants. Looks like somebody was trying to get noticed by the flashing lights! Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

Justin Timberlake apparently got into it with a paparazzo (singular form of “paparazzi,” in case you didn’t know). JT reportedly pulled up to a Beverly Hills hotel sometime Tuesday afternoon (Jul 14) and confronted a photographer trying to get a shot him.

According to witnesses, a “staring contest” ensued, which was eventually broken up by hotel staff. No physical altercation took place, but the confrontation did make for some good pics and a little comedy!

Lil Wayne’s people have responded to that lawsuit involving him, a Bahamian promoter and over $430,000. Red City Entertainment sued the New Orleans last week, claiming that they fronted him $432,000 to perform at a concert in the Bahamas. Their lawsuit states that instead of being on stage when he was supposed to, Weezy was knocked out cold in his hotel room.

And now, Weezy’s manager, Cortez Bryant, has spoken up and is telling his side of the story:

“Our show was set for September 26th last year,” Bryant explained. “We arrived on time, ready to perform and learned that due to lack of payment from the promoters. The sound company they had hired packed up and left the venue before Wayne was scheduled to hit the stage. So they were forced to cancel the show. On those grounds, at that moment, they were in breach of contract and forfeited their deposit.”

Bad Boy recording artists Dawn Richard and Qwanell “Que” Mosely (Day 26) put some of their “young love” on display Monday afternoon (Jul 13) as they took a strol holding hands down a Midtown Manhattan street in New York City.

And speaking of young love, we’re sure you peeped that Dawn tat on Que’s hip in that alter ego photoshoot they did with Derek Blanks. This is what the Day 26 member dished to Global Grind:

I figured I would get DAWN’s lips because she will be mine forever and I’m hers forever, so why not. It’s the best example of how honest I am in my relationship and about our love. Her lips and her name is an example to others that it’s ok to LOVE YOUR GIRL. It’s an example on how to be HONEST. I actually got her name when we started getting serious, so I had that way before the lips on my neck. I’m sure there will be more tattoos to come.

Love is a powerful thing, but a tattoo? C’mon now… But if they like it, I guess we can love it.
